Chapter 366 The Arrogant Holy City
Jiang Xi sighed inwardly.
"I just don't know how to face it."
People from the past, things from the past.
Every time I encounter these people, it always causes a lot of trouble.
The Sea Clan Prince is, the Giant Tree King is, the Phoenix Mountain Holy Son is, and presumably the Holy City's Holy Female, Holy Favored Female, and the nine Great Beast Clans will be the same.
Moreover, compared to the entanglements among her former beast husbands, those who separated from her camp after her mother's death and exiled her were the real troublemakers.
At the entrance to the Lion's Roar tribe, the chieftain, chief queen, and elders, along with some of the tribe's orcs and females, welcomed the procession from the holy city.
A white horse pulled the carriage out of the woods, and curtains fell, obscuring the figures inside.
On either side of the carriage stood six powerful orcs of the fourth tier, some of whom were exceptionally handsome.
Behind the carriage stood thirty or forty handsome orcs of various races, dressed in different styles, clearly recruited by tribes along the way.
Further behind were about a hundred beast guards, each with varying levels of supernatural abilities.
The elderly Grand Protector of the Temple, who was of Earth Rank, appeared directly at Fengshan's residence as he approached the tribe.
The Grand Protector of the Temple looked up at the treehouse in the tree.
"Elder Feng, it's been many years, and you're still as healthy as ever."
A moment later, the old man from Fengshan's voice came down.
“Great Protector Wengge, since it has been many years, why don’t you come up and have a chat?”
The High Protector of the Temple leaped to the treetop and stood firmly on the open platform there. He turned around and took in the prosperous Lion's Roar tribe.
Soon, he let out two soft "hmm" sounds.
"The Lion's Roar tribe actually has Earth-rank beings besides you and me?"
Elder Feng sat on a rattan chair on the platform, with a charcoal stove on a low table in front of him. On the stove was a stone pot, and around the pot were various meat and vegetable dishes.
As the broth in the stone pot bubbled, he added the various dishes he wanted to eat one by one.
He didn't even flinch when he heard the Great Protector's surprise.
"You're too late."
"If you had come earlier, you could have been more unrestrained. But now, even if you bring up your status as the Holy City, it won't work."
"A cursed land, a savage land."
They don't care where you came from.
The respect they received in other tribes is nothing here.
The treehouses were all burned down. If we hadn't taken bird eggs from those little orcs a few times later, they probably would have burned them again.
Perseverance and tireless dedication.
I don't know if it's because I'm bored, or just because I'm idle.
The Great Protector seemed to be deep in thought.
He turned around and was stunned when he saw the stone pot and various dishes in front of Elder Feng.
"What's this?"
Elder Feng said, "Hot pot, have a taste."
"The Lion Roar Tribe may not have much else, but their food preparation methods are incredibly diverse, each with its own unique and delicious way of cooking."
"I, an old man, can't interfere in the affairs of the younger generation. I'd better enjoy a few more good meals."
The main problem is that he can't get involved.
Before Nafiel and Lu Liufeng broke through, he was stopped by the Scepter of the Sea God.
Now that Nafiel and Lu Liufeng have both broken through to new heights, and Nafiel is still a Serpent Clan member, what is he supposed to do? What can he do?
Aside from sitting in a tree enjoying the scenery and eating hot pot, there's nothing else he can do.
The Great Protector frowned.
"What's going on?"
At the entrance of the tribe, the chief and chief wife gave the holy city ample respect.
"Welcome, Holy Mother, Female Envoy, and all esteemed guests, to the Lion's Roar Tribe."
The cheers subsided, but no sound came from the chassis.
Only when the crowd began to whisper did the carriage curtain lift slightly, revealing only a hand and not the face of the person sitting inside.
An arrogant female voice came out.
"The Holy Maiden asks, where is the Holy Beast Envoy stationed in the Lion's Roar Tribe?"
The leader was taken aback.
"A Sacred Beast Envoy?"
"The Holy Beast Master doesn't usually live in the Lion's Roar Tribe, but we don't know exactly where he lives. Speaking of which, he went into the Giant Tree Forest to spend the winter before last winter and hasn't returned yet."
If they hadn't mentioned it, Leader Rupert would have completely forgotten about the existence of the Beast Masters.
As soon as he finished speaking, another arrogant female voice came from behind the curtain.
"Outrageous! The Sacred Beast Envoy has been missing for so long, and you haven't even bothered to search for him? If anything happens to the Sacred Beast Envoy, can your Lion Roar Tribe bear the responsibility?"
The chieftain and the chief female were both stunned, as were the beastmen and females who had come to watch.
Someone scoffed, "What could possibly happen in the Cursed Land? They'll just die and be fed to the cursed beasts."
The crowd burst into laughter.
"Yeah, it's not like the Beast Masters haven't died before. If one dies, just send another one over."
"Exactly, how many orcs have perished in the Cursed Lands? What's the big deal about a few dying?"
The curtain was lifted, and a fair-skinned female leaned out, scolding.
"presumptuous!"
"How dare you sinful beasts and sinful hens presume to speak of the Holy Beast Envoy!"
After she finished speaking, she noticed that the people were looking at her strangely, so she quickly covered her face.
"Is the appearance of a holy female something you sinful beasts are allowed to look upon directly?!"
She quickly covered her face and hid back inside the car.
The side curtain was slightly lifted, and a woman's voice came out.
"Your Majesty is tired, please arrange a place for you to stay."
"Remember, the Holy Mother only uses the finest cloth woven by the Rainbow Spider Clan to make carpets, not your rough animal hides."
The expressions on the faces of the orcs and females grew increasingly strange, and many of them turned and left.
"Sigh, I thought all the holy females and holy females in the world were like us female envoys. It's one thing to not see them, but why do they all seem to be a little dim-witted, just like those guys from Fengshan when they first arrived."
Before the female envoy returned, those guys from Fengshan were always looking down on people.
The chieftain Natali was already somewhat displeased, and the leader also frowned slightly.
If they had never met Jiang Xi, the female envoy, they would probably still be like those tribes that had never seen a female envoy favored by the Holy One, humbly prostrating themselves and begging, hoping that she could stay in the tribe for a day or two, which would be the greatest honor for the tribe.
But now that the tribe has the gentle, kind, and selfless female envoy Jiang Xi, when they encounter these foreign female envoys, they have a comparison to them. They will no longer satisfy all the other party's demands as before, nor will they unconditionally submit to the other party's rudeness.
Chief Rupert said, "The Lion's Roar tribe was unaware of the Holy City's arrival and did not prepare any special accommodations. We can only ask that you stay in the places arranged for visiting orcs."
"As for the fabric of the Spider Clan, the Lion Roar Tribe is poor and simply cannot afford it, so we can only trouble the adults of the Holy City."
A handsome orc standing beside the carriage gave a cold laugh.
"How dare you be disrespectful to the Holy Mother who has arrived?"
Natali smiled and said, "It's not that we're being negligent, but the Lion Roar tribe has limited resources. If you had come any earlier, you might not have been able to stay in a stone house, but only in a wooden plank and thatched house."
She gestured towards the cluster of stone houses scattered in the sunlight, her voice filled with reverence and gratitude.
"These stone houses were built for the tribe by Jiang Xi, who went to the royal court to request their construction."
A young orc raised his hand and pointed to a three-story stone house that stood much higher up on the riverbank. It was clearly the best house in the Lion's Roar tribe.
"It is your honor to have the Holy Mother set foot here."
"We requisitioned that stone house."
