Sure enough, news soon came to her door. Zhuang Yizhan told her over the phone: "This time, the person who is paying for it is a mysterious benefactor. They want you to enter a dilapidated old house and search for the 'lost murals'."
Yi Tianran's heart stirred slightly: "You mean..."
"It's a piece that your teacher, Mr. Donald, personally restored twenty years ago. It was later said to have been stolen and its whereabouts remain unknown." Zhuang Yizhan knew what information she wanted most. "This mysterious benefactor might have some connection with Mr. Tang, so will you accept this commission?"
Yi Tianran replied without hesitation, "Of course!"
Having finally found a breakthrough, this was a request she simply couldn't refuse.
"But..." Zhuang Yizhan's voice carried a hint of worry: "That old house is said to be haunted for years, filled with eerie atmosphere. There are rumors that a child once went in to explore out of curiosity, and came out as if his soul had been stolen, turning him into an idiot. Are you really going?"
Yi Tianran burst out laughing. "Come on, Lao Zhuang, what era are we living in? You still believe in supernatural phenomena?"
Although she once acted as a "fortune teller," it was entirely based on her clever reasoning and had absolutely nothing to do with metaphysics!
"Isn't it better to believe it than not?" Zhuang Yizhan muttered softly, "If something happens to you, how am I supposed to explain it to Fu Yunchen? If he gets angry... then I'll have no chance."
Yi Tianran narrowed her cold eyes, as if she had noticed something. "What opportunity are you talking about?"
