It was almost noon when Daniel finally came downstairs, still half asleep.
Upon seeing Kasha and the strange man sitting in the living room, his expression changed drastically. He rushed forward and blocked Kasha's path, staring fiercely at Arthur with obvious wariness in his eyes.
Kasha didn't even have time to react, but Arthur said as if it were commonplace, "My dear brother, you don't need to be so wary of me. Don't worry, I will never hurt the one you love."
"Ah..." Daniel's expression froze for a moment before he realized that this was the older brother that Kasha had mentioned!
He immediately dropped his guard and subconsciously turned to look at Kasha, his eyes revealing innocence and helplessness.
Kasha quickly stood up and grabbed his arm. "Daniel, what's going on! Haven't you seen your older brother in so long? Why didn't you say hello?"
As she spoke, she pinched him with two fingers, jolting him awake and bringing him back to his senses.
Recalling his scenes with Kasha, Daniel immediately adopted a serious expression and looked coldly at Arthur, "What are you doing here?"
Arthur paused for a moment, then smiled and said, "Of course, it's me looking after my good little brother."
Daniel was warmed by his kind smile and subconsciously wanted to soften his attitude, but Kasha pinched him again, and he hissed and immediately said, "I... I don't need your insincerity. Now that you've seen it, you can leave!"
Arthur's expression darkened slightly, and he said bitterly, "So my own brother doesn't like me that much! Maybe I came at the wrong time and interrupted your love talk."
Seeing his sad expression, Daniel felt inexplicably uncomfortable.
"It didn't disturb you."
Arthur looked up in surprise and delight, meeting his purple eyes. Daniel quickly added, "Sasa and I have always been very much in love."
"Really! So how far has your relationship progressed?" Arthur asked curiously, "Should I go back and propose marriage on your behalf so you can get married as soon as possible?"
Kaisa reflexively replied, "No need!"
Daniel, however, exclaimed enthusiastically, "Yes!"
After saying that, the two looked at each other, one with an innocent expression and the other with a dangerous look.
Arthur, observing this, smiled knowingly and said, "Between two lovers, a kiss is needed to prove their love. Once you kiss her, you must take responsibility for her and marry her."
Daniel suddenly realized what was happening, and before Kasha could react, he leaned in and gave her a quick kiss on her pink cheek.
"Sasha, I will marry you and make you my bride!"
As soon as the words were spoken, Kaisa's face turned as red as an apple.
For over twenty years, she had very little experience with relationships, and she never imagined she would encounter something like this.
At that moment, her mind went blank, and she reflexively slapped him, yelling, "Who wants to marry you, you shameless bastard!"
After saying that, she no longer cared about hiding anything and turned to flee.
Daniel covered half his cheek, looking aggrieved and confused, and asked, "Why is she angry?"
Seeing his younger brother's innocent look, Arthur couldn't help but stand up and pat his head. "Who told you to kiss her without her permission, my silly brother?"
Upon hearing this, the head bodyguard standing nearby was startled. Could it be... that Young Master Arthur already knew?
The hand on his head was so warm and familiar that it made Daniel momentarily lose his senses.
Coming to his senses, he quickly dodged away, puffing out his cheeks and saying angrily, "You...you stop touching me! No one but Sasha can touch my head!"
Arthur wasn't angry. Instead, he asked, "So, do you want to win over Kasha and marry her?"
Daniel's eyes lit up, his blue eyes gleaming. "Yes."
Arthur raised an eyebrow and smiled, putting his arm around his shoulder and coaxing him gently, "Then you have to listen to me. Come on, call me 'brother' first."
Daniel, with the mental capacity of a three-year-old, was incredibly well-behaved, saying, "Brother."
The moment Arthur heard the word "brother," his heart melted.
It had been so many years since he had heard Daniel call him that. When he was little, he used to follow Daniel around, always asking his older brother to hug him.
The older we get, the more distant we become, but I still have the temper of a child, always wanting to compete with him.
Now that he's back to his childlike self, he's so adorable that he wants to crumple Daniel into a little dumpling and hold him in his arms.
"You said you would help me, and you wouldn't lie to me." Daniel didn't know why, but he felt a natural affinity for this person and always felt that he wouldn't harm him.
“Of course!” Arthur, who was essentially a “brother-complex” person, sharpened his eyes and said without hesitation, “I will help you get anything you like.”
He then leaned close to Daniel's ear and whispered, "But now, you should go and coax your future wife..."
Daniel listened intently, nodding repeatedly, and then quickly dashed off.
Arthur's face instantly turned cold, and he said to the head bodyguard beside him, "Find someone to follow the young master. If you dare to lose him again, you'll all lose your lives."
"Yes." The head of the bodyguards was startled and gathered a group of bodyguards to give chase.
Arthur spoke again: "Stay here, I have something to ask you."
The head bodyguard felt a chill run down his spine and immediately stopped in his tracks. He gave the others a look, signaling them to go after Daniel, then steeled himself and returned to Arthur's side. "Young Master—"
"Do you even know who you're working for?" Arthur glanced at him coldly, his imposing presence making it hard for him to breathe.
The head bodyguard was sweating profusely. He knelt down with a thud and solemnly said, "I am serving the Mafia family. My family has been born into the Mafia family and will die as a member of the Mafia family."
“Wrong! And right—” Arthur said slowly, “The rest of your family serve my Mafia family, but you serve Daniel alone. If he is in danger, you must risk your life to protect him! As for the lives of the others, they are not important.”
The head bodyguard understood the deeper meaning in his words and immediately lowered his head. "Yes, I know I was wrong. I shouldn't have helped Miss Kasha conceal the young master's illness..."
“Let’s leave this matter at that. Daniel listens to Kasha now, so you naturally have to obey his orders as well.” Arthur suddenly became very easy to talk to again. “Now, explain everything from beginning to end.”
The head of the bodyguards dared not hide anything any longer and began to recount the events, starting with Daniel's kidnapping of Fu Yunchen's three children.
When he heard that Daniel had become stupid because Kasha had given him a vial of medicine, a chilling murderous glint flashed in his eyes.
