After Qin Kou'er dragged Lan Linxue into the house, she forcefully pushed Lan Linxue into the adjacent study. Then she turned and slammed the door shut.
Lan Linxue was really being driven crazy by Qin Kou'er.
Qin Kou'er flung him away and he collapsed onto the table, groaning in pain from his injuries.
Qin Kou'er acted as if she hadn't heard anything, walked into the study with an expressionless face, and casually closed the study door behind her.
Lan Linxue initially wanted to yell at Qin Kou'er to prove his authority, but looking at her icy expression, he decided it was best to remain silent. This would be more conducive to harmony between the two.
"Cough cough!"
After coughing twice, Lan Linxue took the initiative to sit in the main seat behind his desk. Just as he was about to speak, Qin Kou'er stood behind him like a ghost.
"Oh my god, you scared me to death!"
Lan Linxue patted her chest to comfort her heart.
Qin Kou'er glanced indifferently at Lan Linxue, then spread the blueprints in her hand on the table.
Lan Linxue, ever the curious one, leaned over to take a look: "What is that?"
Qin Kou'er didn't say anything, but walked to the side, hooked a chair over with her foot, and placed it next to Lan Linxue. She sat down and stared intently at Lan Linxue.
"Lan Linxue, you'd better think carefully before you answer what I'm about to say. Otherwise, don't blame me for turning my back on you."
Lan Linxue watched Qin Kou'er blink twice, then leaned forward and gently sat up, carefully taking Qin Kou'er's hand in hers, and asked softly, "What happened? Why do you look so serious?"
Qin Kou'er coldly pulled her hand away, looked at Lan Linxue, and pointed to the map on the table, "Do you know what these are?"
Lan Linxue looked down and asked, "Is this a map?"
Then I looked at it more closely and noticed that some places on the map were marked with red circles in vermilion ink, which looked like markers.
But what do these markings have to do with him?
Lan Linxue looked up at Qin Kou'er with an innocent expression: "I know and recognize the map. But I don't recognize the markings on it! What are those places?"
After asking the question, Lan Linxue seemed to remember something. She looked down again and excitedly pointed to a spot, saying, "This is the temple of the female ghost! It's where you hid your silver, isn't it?"
At this point, Lan Linxue's eyes brightened even more. She turned to look at Qin Kou'er and suddenly leaned closer with a sly look, saying, "Is this where you hide your gold and silver?"
Qin Kou'er glanced at Lan Linxue, her face cold and silent for a long time.
"What happened? Tell me! Did someone bully you? Let me tell you, I've been very well-behaved these past two days, I haven't done anything."
While worrying that Qin Kou'er was prone to bullying, Lan Linxue quickly checked whether she had offended this young lady in the past two days, otherwise Qin Kou'er would never have given her such an unpleasant look.
After thinking about it for a long time, I'm sure it's not true!
Qin Kou'er looked at Lan Linxue, held back her breath, and then patiently pointed to a dot on the screen, staring intently at Lan Linxue: "Linxue, look carefully, do you remember what you did at this dot?"
Lan Linxue glanced at Qin Kou'er, then looked down at the point on the map carefully. She frowned and looked around for a long time before finally shaking her head firmly: "Never been there, definitely never been there!"
Qin Kou'er really wanted to strangle Lan Linxue to death.
She held onto the last vestiges of her patience, looking into Lan Linxue's eyes, and said, word by word, "Some things, if you tell me now, will be fine. But some things, if you tell me after they've happened, then it's too late to undo the damage! Do you understand, Linxue?"
Lan Linxue suddenly tensed up when she saw Qin Kou'er, and hugged her tightly. She frowned and said nervously, "What do you mean by 'spilled water can't be taken back'? We've already gone through that, what's there that can't be taken back? Explain yourself!"
Qin Kou'er, nestled in Lan Linxue's arms, didn't struggle. Instead, she wrapped her arms around his waist and said in a gentler tone, "Linxue, we're going to be husband and wife for the rest of our lives. There are some things you absolutely can't hide from me! I know the struggle for the throne among the princes is getting more and more serious, but you have to know that there are some things in this world that you can't do! If you do them, there'll be no turning back! Do you understand?"
Lan Linxue looked at Qin Kou'er, feeling increasingly puzzled. "Kou'er, what's wrong with you today? I don't understand what you're saying! Explain yourself clearly!"
"Okay! I'll explain myself. I only have one question for you: did you send people to blast open the breach in the Qinhuai River embankment?"
Lan Linxue never expected that Qin Kou'er would ask this question, nor did she expect that she would discover the problem so quickly.
Looking at Qin Kou'er, Lan Linxue felt a sudden pang of bitterness and unease in her heart.
I'm waiting for your answer!
Even without Lan Linxue's answer, Qin Kou'er already knew that he was the one who had done it. However, she still felt a tiny sliver of relief and hoped that Lan Linxue could completely refute her claim. As long as he said it was true, she was willing to believe him.
Seeing the urgent longing in Qin Kou'er's eyes, Lan Linxue lost all desire to lie.
He couldn't lie to her; he couldn't bring himself to say it, nor could he open his mouth.
But the thought that the two of them would disagree and argue about this made him even more unwilling!
So Lan Linxue remained silent. She simply wanted to hold Qin Kou'er tightly in her arms.
The tighter Lan Linxue held Qin Kou'er, the more Qin Kou'er struggled.
