Lan Linxue's sedan chair was parked not far from the Qin Tiange headquarters.
Lan Linxue had the sedan curtain opened, then leaned against the soft cushions, gazing intently at the gate opposite in the wind and rain.
Qin Kou'er really felt like she was going crazy from being so busy.
After she arranged everything, a whole host of problems followed.
Jun Yannuo had to arrange things to go north, so he couldn't take care of the problems here at all.
Mo Hun and his men went down to arrange the transport of their treasures, and Hai Tian and Hai Di were all extremely busy. Even Sha Da was too busy to send a message to him.
Left with no other choice, Qin Kou'er had to transfer several more hall masters to arrange all the arrangements for settling the villagers down.
This cannot continue.
Qin Kou'er knew that she had to use people outside of Qin Tiange to do this, otherwise she would work herself to death and still not be able to finish it.
Therefore, Qin Kou'er decided to utilize the power of the government, or even go directly to Lan Xiuyuan.
If this matter were handled from the perspective of the government, it would be much more efficient.
Moreover, now that she and Lan Linxue have reached this point, there's nothing she needs to worry about!
Whether Lan Linxue was happy or unhappy, she had to go to Lan Xiuyuan for help.
Because this prince's prestige in Jiangnan is currently unmatched. More importantly, he has people under his command. And what she needs most right now is people.
No matter what, she had to save all of them. Otherwise, if the Emperor were to blame her one day, at least she would have a way to protect him. As long as no one died, she believed that Lan Shanyang would keep Lan Linxue alive.
As long as Lan Linxue doesn't die, there is still hope for her.
Thinking of Lan Linxue, Qin Kou'er's heart still ached for no reason.
Qin Kou'er had another hidden agenda: by contacting Lan Xiuyuan, she could get the latest updates on this matter from him.
Qin Kou'er knew that sooner or later Lan Xiuyuan would find out everything Lan Linxue had done, and he would definitely do everything in his power to pounce on her. If she could still be by Lan Xiuyuan's side then, it would be of immense help to Lan Linxue.
Qin Kou'er didn't know why she still cared so much about Lan Linxue. She only knew that Lan Linxue was the person she had chosen, just as she had once said to Lan Linxue: If you go to the mountain of knives, I will go to the mountain of knives; if you go to the sea of fire, I will go to the sea of fire!
So even though it was raining outside and the night was already deep, Qin Kou'er still put on her raincoat, covered her hair, and led her people to mount her horse, preparing to see Jiang Ming first, and then go see Lan Xiuyuan.
She hasn't seen Lan Xiuyuan even once since she and Lan Linxue jumped off the cliff.
As Qin Kou'er rode out on horseback, she was about to spur her horse on when she caught a glimpse of the sedan chair by the corner of the wall.
Old Seven stood in the rain, his back ramrod straight, and no one who passed by could miss the resolute look in his eyes.
Qin Kou'er instantly spotted Lan Linxue gazing at her from inside the sedan chair.
Her gaze flickered, and she felt a strange mix of emotions, as if in just a short while, the two of them had missed each other for a lifetime.
Lan Linxue's pale face was a stark contrast to Qin Kou'er's, creating a painful scene. He leaned against the cushions, his weakness causing Qin Kou'er's pent-up anger to catch in her throat before slowly dissipating. How could he have become so haggard in such a short time? Was he truly heartbroken? But if he was so heartbroken, why did he push them both to the brink of disaster?
The two of them gazed at each other from afar, seemingly worlds apart.
Lan Linxue was weak all over, but his eyes were bright as starlight, burning with intense flames.
Kerr's eyes are swollen; she must have been crying, right? And she must have cried a lot! Doesn't she know that her tears will make him feel even more guilty and sad?
He promised he would never let her shed a tear for the rest of his life, but he broke his promise again.
Lan Linxue hated himself, and even more so, he hated the struggle for the throne that he couldn't escape. But he couldn't let go of Kou'er's hand, no matter how difficult it was, he couldn't let go!
Because once he is released, he will sink into the water and never be able to float again.
Even through the misty rain, Lan Linxue could still clearly see every expression on Qin Kou'er's face and every look in her eyes.
He saw exhaustion, stubbornness, resilience, pain, and perseverance.
Lan Linxue smiled slightly. This was his woman, who still bloomed proudly even in the face of wind and rain.
When Qin Kou'er saw Lan Linxue's smile, she suddenly widened her eyes and glared at him fiercely.
Lan Linxue was stunned for a moment, then instantly laughed, a laugh that was both bitter and happy: Kou'er glared at him! She actually glared at him! She didn't give him a cold and emotionless look, but rather a lively and vivid one.
No one knew that this glance was like a handful of water in the desert for Lan Linxue, giving him a chance to survive.
Lan Linxue wasn't afraid of Qin Kou'er getting angry; he was afraid of Qin Kou'er not getting angry.
Not being angry means not caring. He absolutely cannot let Qin Kou'er not care about him. Kou'er can hit him, scold him, throw things, smash silver, anything is fine, but she cannot not care about him.
He could spend the rest of his life making up for the pain she suffered today, but he absolutely could not let go of her. This was his bottom line, and his resolve. In this life, even in death, he would die with Qin Kou'er.
Seeing Lan Linxue laugh, so carefree and radiant, Qin Kou'er became even angrier. She mouthed "You wait," then whipped her horse and galloped away.
