Chen Kuangzheng certainly couldn't actually open the door and unleash the dogs. Even if he wanted to grant Lan Linxue's request, Lan Xiuyuan showed him no hesitation whatsoever.
Lan Xiuyuan walked in with a frown and a cold look in his eyes. When he saw Lan Linxue, he hesitated for a moment before bowing and saying, "Good morning, Your Majesty!"
Lan Linxue stared at Lan Xiuyuan like a bloodthirsty wolf, but didn't utter a sound.
Lan Xiuyuan didn't care what Lan Linxue looked like. He turned around and coldly looked at Chen Kuangzheng, saying, "Lord Chen, why is Miss Qin locked up?"

Lan Xiuyuan turned his head slightly to look at Lan Linxue, his face growing increasingly gloomy, but he really didn't want to say another word to Lan Linxue.
Just then, another commotion broke out outside.

"Chen Kuangzheng, I heard that Qin Kou'er came to complain?"
Upon hearing this voice, Lan Linxue quickly turned around and stood aside.
Lan Xiuyuan's brows furrowed slightly, but he showed no expression. He stepped aside and obediently stood to the side.
As Lan Qingtian strode in, he saw Lan Linxue and Lan Xiuyuan standing like two gatekeepers, one on each side, staring straight ahead. They looked obedient, but there was an inexplicable eeriness about them.
Frowning, Lan Qingtian pointed at the two of them with her whip: "Why are you two little devils here so early in the morning?"
Lan Linxue quickly bowed with a smile and said, "Good morning, Seventh Uncle!"
Lan Xiuyuan also put on his gentlest smile and said softly, "Good morning, Seventh Uncle!"
Seeing how well-behaved the two were, Lan Qingtian was even more puzzled: "What are you two doing so early in the morning? Why are you looking like you're about to laugh or cry? What's going on? What are you doing here?"
