Lan Linxue stared at the needle tip, her eyes widening instantly, her lips pressed tightly together, and her body began to tremble involuntarily. She suddenly exerted force in her hands, making the wooden pole tied behind her creak loudly.
Qin Kou'er paused for a moment, then looked up at Lan Linxue with a slightly dazed expression. "Are you scared?"
Lan Linxue didn't say a word, but the depths of her eyes suddenly turned a faint dark purple as she stared at Qin Kou'er, who was so close to her. There was an indescribable eeriness and sinister feeling, and a chilling aura that seemed to penetrate to the bone, making her as terrifying as a demon from hell.
Qin Kou'er stared intently into those eyes, a sharp pain piercing a corner of her heart. The memories she had buried were like a raging wildfire, instantly engulfing her.
She knew that look all too well; it was piercingly intense. It was the look of a vengeful ghost. Countless nights she had escaped death's clutches with that same look, growing stronger and colder with each passing night. Anger and fear forced her to become a vengeful ghost in hell, roaming the human world with that same gaze.
But why would Lan Linxue, who was high above and loved by all, have such an expression in his eyes? Did he also stop cursing, and did a demon reside in his heart?
Slowly extending her still-injured hand, Qin Kou'er blindfolded Lan Linxue, her red lips close to his ear, and whispered in a dreamlike voice, "It won't hurt anymore soon! Everything will be over soon!"
Meanwhile, his other hand swiftly stabbed into Lan Linxue's chest.
Lan Linxue's eyes were blindfolded. When the stinging sensation came over his body, he flinched and began to gasp for breath. Suddenly, he lowered his head and bit Qin Kou'er's shoulder.
Within a single day, Qin Kou'er was bitten twice by Lan Linxue. This time, Qin Kou'er didn't even flinch, letting Lan Linxue's teeth dig into her flesh and bone. Her hand holding the needle moved even faster, and soon, a stream of blood flowed down Lan Linxue's white chest.
Finally, Qin Kou'er stopped, and Lan Linxue released her.
But behind them, muffled groans and the smell of burning flesh rose and fell. The houses behind them burst into flames, the firelight illuminating the entire night sky, and the faint sounds of shouts could be heard, both near and far. Qin Kou'er removed her hand from Lan Linxue's eyes. Lan Linxue, however, kept her eyes lowered, not even glancing at her.
Qin Kou'er glanced at her shoulder, which was now a bloody mess from Lan Linxue's bite, but seemed completely unaffected, not uttering a sound of pain. She pulled a handkerchief from her sleeve and meticulously began wiping away the bloodstains from the writing on Lan Linxue's chest.
Qin Kou'er wiped it very carefully, as if she were protecting a piece of porcelain, while Lan Linxue remained quiet, simply staring at the head that had fallen onto the writing on the chest.
Qin Kou'er finally finished wiping and looked up, smiling serenely: "Look, don't I write this very well?"
Surprisingly, Lan Linxue looked down at the bold and elegant "蔻" character etched on her chest and said in a low, slightly hoarse voice, "Very well written!"
Qin Kou'er looked up at Lan Linxue. Lan Linxue's hair was a little loose, and she actually reached out and neatly tied it up on her head. As she did so, she said softly, "Are you thinking of tearing this word off along with this piece of flesh, and then digging out my heart and carving a word on it too? To trample on it every day!"
Lan Linxue really wanted to dig out the heart of the woman in front of her and take a good look at it to see how it was different from her own!
"I know why you're asking! Qin Kou'er, you've crossed my line, even I—can't save you now!" With that, Lan Linxue gave Qin Kou'er a cruel smile. His desire to kill her was probably beyond his control.
"It doesn't matter! You can use any means to kill me!" Qin Kou'er said softly, seemingly unconcerned, looking calmly into Lan Linxue's eyes. "I've seen all kinds of deaths, all kinds of torture instruments, and all kinds of hatred. I'm not afraid of adding you to the list!"
As she spoke, Qin Kou'er reached out and untied the ropes binding Lan Linxue, then pressed two acupoints on him, placed him in a chair, and left him surrounded by flames, his face a bloody mess.
Lan Linxue calmly looked at her subordinate who was making hand gestures in front of her, her eyes showing even more coldness.
"Don't blame them!" Qin Kou'er sat down next to Lan Linxue, looking at the people being tortured below with great admiration. "They've all been poisoned by one of my methods. It won't kill them, but it will leave them completely weak. The more they exert themselves, the faster the poison takes effect, and all their senses become doubly sensitive. What was originally a minor injury will feel like having their heart ripped out. And now they're covered in branding irons, so you can imagine how excruciating it is—it's like having their hearts and bones torn out. Yet, not one of them has uttered a sound. They're truly heroes!"
As she spoke, Qin Kou'er turned to look at Lan Linxue with surprise, "How could a bewitching fox spirit like you raise such a tough guy? It seems your methods are quite different from your personality!"
Lan Linxue quietly looked at everyone in front of her, then suddenly smiled faintly, "You're not the only one with such skills!"
Qin Kou'er stared intently at Lan Linxue, her expression slowly growing serious. "Lan Linxue, this constant fighting and killing between us is pointless; it only benefits others. When I said I wanted to marry you, I wasn't joking!"
"Marry me?" Lan Linxue burst into laughter as if she had heard a joke, then abruptly stopped, staring coldly at Qin Kou'er. "Want to marry me? In your next life!"
Qin Kou'er pouted, "No need for the next life, just this life! I will never change what I say!"
