Chapter 26: She was stripped naked and watched from the doorway.

Lan Jiayuan turned his head and looked at Zhao Ling'er, then suddenly let out a long sigh of frustration, "In the end, it was my Ling'er who had a heart of loyalty and filial piety. She stopped me in time and prevented me from doing something foolish!"

With that, Lan Jiayuan coldly raised his head and looked at Qin Kou'er, saying, "Sect Leader Qin, you're really lucky today, having my beloved concubine plead for you. I'll spare you for now and let you pass! However, before that, you must open all these boxes so my beloved concubine can take a good look at them!"

Qin Kou'er immediately understood Lan Jiayuan's meaning, and couldn't help but smile slightly. She said to the people below, "Someone, open all the embroidery! Zhangzhu, please ask the concubine to take a closer look."

Zhao Ling'er felt a little shy when she heard Qin Kou'er say that, but when she turned to look at Lan Jiayuan, she was filled with joy.

All the boxes were opened.

However, because it was night and the light was dim, Lan Jiayuan immediately ordered his soldiers to bring lanterns over, but they were subtly stopped by the people from Qin Tiange.

"Third Prince, look! Things like this shouldn't be exposed to smoke! Torches and candlelight are always smoky and must never be near embroidery!"

Lan Jiayuan immediately frowned: "How can we see clearly at this hour?"

Qin Kou'er smiled slightly and then clapped her hands.

Immediately, several maids walked over with smiles, and I was holding something wrapped in cloth.

Qin Kou'er smiled and said to the people around her, "Please extinguish your candles!"

Everyone became curious, glanced at Lan Jiayuan, and when he nodded, they quickly extinguished their torches.

At this moment, someone carefully tilted the box containing the embroidered items to the side, and then the maids opened the cloth bundles in their hands. Instantly, soft, pearly light shone on the embroidery, making the items inside seem alive and vividly presented to everyone.

Zhao Ling'er exclaimed in surprise and quickly walked past Lan Jiayuan. She carefully lay down in front of the embroidery to examine it closely, constantly expressing her admiration.

Lan Jiayuan had never seen Zhao Ling'er so fascinated by anything before, so he walked over, gently put his arm around Zhao Ling'er's shoulder, and looked at the treasure in front of them with her.

Qin Kou'er was somewhat surprised to see the two of them leaning on each other.

Judging from Lan Jiayuan's behavior towards Zhao Ling'er, it's really not like he treats her like a concubine. He seems to have deep feelings for her, which is quite unexpected.

Qin Kou'er stood before the city gate, watching the two figures recede into the distance, filled with endless sighs.

Although she didn't have any good feelings towards Lan Jiayuan or Zhao Ling'er, and her reasons for using Zhao Ling'er were more about exploitation than anything else, she felt a pang of sadness as she watched the two of them leaning on each other from behind.

One was a high-ranking prince, the other a lowly courtesan, yet he was willing to stoop down for her, just to catch a glimpse of the priceless treasure she so longed for from the city gates; and she, even if she could never reach those gates, was content with everything before her. Is this love? Even though it's never balanced, it can still be sweet.

Zhao Ling'er looked at each piece one by one, the light of the luminous pearls transforming the embroidery before her into vivid and dreamlike worlds.

She walked up to an embroidery piece and refused to move.

It was an embroidery depicting white cats playing with a ball. Countless little white cats were hiding in the bamboo forest, chasing and playing with an embroidered ball.

Zhao Ling'er looked at the cats, each one seemed to be moving, and the green bamboo leaves seemed to be swaying in the wind, as if they were constantly reaching into one's heart.

Zhao Ling'er really liked those cats so much that she reached out to pet them, but just as her fingers were about to leave, her maid carefully reminded her, "If you touch them, the cats will run away!"

Zhao Ling'er was startled and quickly withdrew her finger.

But she held onto Lan Jiayuan's sleeve, and with a surprised expression, carefully explained to him what the cats were doing, which one was prettier, and which one was more mischievous.

Qin Kou'er thought for a moment, then suddenly smiled and walked over, saying to the maid beside her, "Go! Wrap up this embroidery and take it to Madam's carriage later!"

Upon hearing this, Zhao Ling'er was so frightened that she quickly shook her head, "Sect Master, that's not what I meant. I just really enjoy watching it!"

Seeing Zhao Ling'er behaving like a kitten in front of Qin Kou'er, Lan Jiayuan frowned and reached out to stop her hand.

Ultimately, he was a prince, and his woman had no reason to bow down to anyone.

Qin Kou'er smiled gently and said, "What do you mean by 'meaning'? I like Madam, and I like Madam. What's so great about giving Madam something she likes? Besides, there's no register for these gifts. It's all the same no matter what we give! These precious items are meant to be given to those who are destined to receive them! Madam is that destined person, Third Prince, don't you think?"

Lan Jiayuan snorted through his nose but didn't say anything.

Qin Kou'er delivered the favor, not expecting him to say anything, but simply had the items carefully wrapped up and sent to Zhao Ling'er's car.

Zhao Ling'er really didn't know what to say, so she spoke to Qin Kou'er in a soft and gentle voice, and urged Lan Jiayuan to be careful to protect these things and the Pavilion Master, and not to let anyone damage them.

Lan Jiayuan knew, of course, that he was obligated to those who offered him food, but he simply couldn't bring himself to like Qin Kou'er.

Qin Kou'er didn't say much, just smiled and looked at Lan Jiayuan. In the end, Lan Jiayuan was at a loss with Zhao Ling'er, so he quickly had someone carefully escort the items to the designated location in the palace.

Seeing that everything was going smoothly, Qin Kou'er sighed deeply, bid farewell to Zhao Ling'er, and went directly into the palace with her belongings.
