Chapter 40 The Capital's Number One Troublemaker Comes to Propose Marriage

Just after we finished eating, the servants brought us fruit and tea.

Qin Kou'er originally wanted to take this opportunity to discuss something with Jun Yannuo and open several branches in the capital in the next few days.

Before they had even exchanged two sentences, Haitian suddenly rushed in.

"Why can't you walk and talk properly lately? What's with all this rushing around?"

Hai Tian took a breath, but still looked at Qin Kou'er with great panic and said, "Master, Lan Linxue has come with a large entourage to propose marriage!"

"What?"

This time, not only Qin Kou'er, but Jun Yannuo almost fell off the stool as well.

Who do you think will propose?

Jun Yannuo was afraid that he had really misheard, so he immediately asked again.

"Lan Linxue! The former Crown Prince, now a Prince! He's here to propose marriage!"

Jun Yannuo quickly glanced at Qin Kou'er.

Qin Kou'er thought for a moment, then helplessly slapped her forehead. Now she finally knew what trick Lan Linxue was using to provoke Lan Xiuyuan!

This idiot actually came up with such a terrible idea to provoke Lan Xiuyuan; this is truly unprecedented and will likely never be repeated.

"Master, what do we do now?"

Hai Tian was a little flustered. Since he came with Qin Kou'er, he had never seen anyone come to propose marriage, let alone one in the middle of the night.

Jun Yannuo looked at Qin Kou'er with a mixture of amusement and exasperation: "What do we do now?"

Qin Kou'er immediately roared, "Go! Put all our dogs out at the door to bark, and have someone hold them inside. If anyone climbs over the wall, splash them with water!"

Since Lan Linxue came up with such a high-profile idea, wouldn't it seem like she lacked the spirit of a wife who follows her husband's lead if she didn't cooperate?

Upon hearing Qin Kou'er's instructions, Hai Tian felt like laughing, but he managed to hold it in and quickly led his men down to make the arrangements.

Lan Linxue sat on a tall horse, wearing a red ribbon, looking at her grand marriage proposal procession, her face beaming with smiles.

He was now extremely pleased with his idea.

He refused to believe that after all the trouble he had caused tonight, Lan Xiuyuan would not take the bait.

Furthermore, Lan Linxue had another idea: he wanted to experience what a traditional folk wedding would be like.

He always felt that royal weddings were just formalities, beautiful but useless. He and his bride could never see each other for a day, and even on their wedding night, it was awkward and meaningless!

Therefore, what he was thinking about today was to make a grand entrance and propose marriage, and also to let everyone in the capital know that Qin Kou'er was the one he had chosen, and that no one else could ever touch her.

Turning her head and glancing back at the impressive gift list, Lan Linxue couldn't help but burst out laughing.

These things were almost all stolen by Ghost Head and his men.

Lan Linxue knew that Qin Kou'er would never agree to her request tonight, but she absolutely didn't want to appear fake. So she sent Lao Qi and the others out to borrow the money.

It was really a loan; I would return it after using it.

As it turned out, the ghost was too scary-looking. He led a group of people into the shop and stood there menacingly asking to borrow their things. Who would believe him? So, people practically had to beg and plead to give them their things, just so they could leave as soon as possible.

Thus, Lan Linxue had a grand marriage proposal team.

Finally, a large group of people arrived at the gate of Qin Kou'er's mansion.

Lan Linxue waved to the seventh prince, who immediately jumped off his horse with a delighted expression and banged on the door: "Miss Qin! Miss Qin! Our prince has come to propose marriage!"

Before Lao Qi could finish speaking, a chorus of barking dogs came from inside, giving Lao Qi quite a fright.

Lan Linxue chuckled; Qin Kou'er had indeed understood her feelings.

"Our leader said, go back to where you came from! We cannot accept Your Highness's kindness! As for the marriage proposal, that's utter nonsense! It's late at night, Your Highness, please don't disturb the people! Go back now!"

The seventh brother immediately turned to look at Lan Linxue.

"Keep shouting!"

Lan Linxue, still mounted on her horse, leisurely cracked her whip and continued to give orders.

The seventh brother coughed and began reciting poetry as Lan Linxue had taught him at home: "Ah, the bright moon of Qin and the time of Han, I miss my girl terribly. Wedding dress, quilts, and auspicious pillow, all I need is you to come and be my pair!"

As soon as Lao Qi finished reading, everyone inside, from Hai Tian to others, burst into laughter.

Even Qu Feng'er, who is usually calm and composed, showed a faint smile.

Qin Kou'er stared speechlessly at the gate. Did Lan Linxue want the whole capital to know that he was ignorant and shameless? What was this nonsense? It was practically harassing an innocent woman!

Not to mention the people inside, everyone outside was laughing so hard they were doubled over.

Only Lian Linxue looked around proudly, and when she saw the people laughing, she waved her whip and waved her hand smugly.

"Lan Linxue! You good-for-nothing! Get out of here! Stop embarrassing yourself!"

Qin Kou'er couldn't stand it and shouted through the door.

Upon hearing this, Lan Linxue's eyes immediately lit up, and she shouted loudly, "Kou'er, I've missed you so much!"

At this point, everyone couldn't hold back anymore, and the whole street burst into laughter.

Qin Kou'er covered her forehead and after a while roared, "If you don't leave, I'll unleash the dogs!"

If Lan Linxue could walk, then she definitely wouldn't be Lan Linxue.

"Kou'er, I haven't finished reciting my poem yet. Let me recite another one. Ahem!"

Lan Linxue cleared her throat and then began to loudly recite: "Who cares for a girl from a humble family? I'm too lazy to look at a lady from a noble family! If you ask who is the most beautiful in Yangzhou? Only Kou'er surpasses even a fairy! Kou'er, did you hear me? I am a talented man! Marry me!"
