Lan Linxue slept well and woke up the next morning feeling refreshed.
When they brought in someone to help them get dressed, the first thing they asked was, "Has Qin Kou'er arrived yet?"
"Your Highness, Pavilion Master Qin hasn't arrived yet!" the little eunuch replied with a smile as he dressed Lan Linxue.
Lan Linxue frowned. "What's going on? You promised to have breakfast with me first thing this morning!"
"Your Highness, would you like me to send someone to check on you? I suppose the Pavilion Master is arranging breakfast for you! The Pavilion Master never forgets what he has promised!"
Lan Linxue turned her head to look at the little eunuch in surprise, and said with a smile, "You little thing, you know how to talk! What's your name? I'll have the Pavilion Master reward you with a few coins later."
The young eunuch quickly knelt down and kowtowed, "Your Highness, my name is Chou Ling. Thank you for your reward!"

Upon hearing this, Chou Ling was overjoyed and immediately knelt down and began to kowtow.

Shuanghua glanced at Lan Linxue, "It seems that Seventh Brother and the others have been targeted by Qin Kou'er's people! They're trying to shake them off!"
Lan Linxue sniffed and turned to look at Shuanghua, "Wasn't I telling you to do it in secret?"
"It was done in secret! They almost caught them when they were selling gunpowder. If it weren't for Seventh Brother's cleverness, they probably would have been caught. But thankfully, they're all in hiding now!"
Lan Linxue nodded. "Qin Kou'er has her eye on me. That brat, she's like a cat, she'll be over the slightest hint of trouble! By the way, did you manage to get anything out of Mei Yan?"
"No! I didn't see her at all yesterday!"

Lan Linxue glared at him, "Useless thing, you can't even handle a woman!"
Lan Linxue no longer cared about Shuanghua's dull demeanor. "Alright, alright! Hurry up and send people out to investigate! Don't let any clue slip by!"
