The gate of the Qianqing Palace split the human world into two: inside was a paradise, outside was a hell of sorrow.
Hu Qianyu, naked and wrapped in a quilt, was being carried, her eyes fixed on the laughter and chatter coming from inside the doorway.
She wanted to cry, to cry out loud, but her tears flowed like a dried-up river, not a single drop falling.
She wanted to laugh, to laugh wildly, but her face was so stiff that she didn't have the strength to move it even slightly.
How could he treat her like that?
How could he humiliate her like that?
How could he put her in the mud, less than a speck of dust?
She had loved him for so long, how could he bear to let her face this life-or-death dilemma?
Hu Qianyu's thoughts were in turmoil, experiencing wave after wave of shock, while the atmosphere in the room was also lively and cheerful, with each wave more intense than the last.
Finally, when the ambiguous laughter from inside rang out, and when those soft, seductive moans came out, Hu Qianyu couldn't help but let out a beast-like howl.
Lan Shanyang sat in the room until he heard the shout, then a satisfied smile spread across his face.
He stood up, satisfied, and went to sleep in the back.
But the others had to continue their life of debauchery and indulgence, just as he had instructed, and continue to perform for him with extreme allure.
Hu Qianyu's cries grew louder and sharper.
Finally, it turned into loud weeping, interspersed with thunder and lightning.
Quan Jing walked out of the house, looking anxious and reproachful, as if he couldn't easily disturb the emperor's enjoyment.
"What's going on? Making such a commotion in the middle of the night, are you trying to disturb the Emperor's enjoyment? Don't you want to live?"
The panoramic sound was deep, yet carried an undeniable annoyance.
The eunuchs were terrified and quickly knelt on the ground.
They were somewhat frightened by the scene before them, and really didn't know how to deal with Consort Hu, who seemed on the verge of going mad.
Jing Quan glared at them, then slowly walked up to Hu Qianyu, looking down at her with a hint of coldness, and said, "Consort Hu, if you continue to act so recklessly, you may never see the Emperor again in this lifetime!"
Hu Qianyu glared fiercely at the panoramic view in front of her, then suddenly stopped screaming.
Her pale face, set against her long, black hair, made her look as gruesome as a ghost.
"Why is the Emperor treating me like this? Why?"
Every sound Hu Qianyu uttered was a scream, every word dripping with the blood of her heart.
But such screams and such tears of blood could only be seen by herself; they had absolutely no effect on the whole scene or on anyone around her.
Quan Jing smiled faintly, then lowered his head slightly, staring coldly at Hu Qianyu, and said in a low but infinitely indifferent voice, "Consort Hu, why do such a smart person like you always choose to do stupid things?"
As he spoke, Quan Jing shook his head helplessly.
"What did I do to deserve this humiliation?"
Hu Qianyu suddenly shouted, almost rupturing the eardrums of the panoramic viewer.
Quan Jing frowned immediately. "Your Majesty, do you really not know what the Emperor is thinking? If you really don't know, then let me give you a hint."
As he spoke, Quan Jing coldly curled the corners of his mouth, looking at Hu Qianyu with an expression full of majesty and indifference: "This world has always belonged to the Emperor! This harem has always belonged to the Emperor! It doesn't belong to Hu, nor to Xu, it has always belonged to Lan! You'd better not bring out your little thoughts to disturb the Emperor. In your eyes, it's nothing more than jealousy between women, but in the Emperor's eyes, you are challenging his imperial authority."
Hu Qianyu glared angrily at Quan Jing, her head already buzzing, and she was finding it difficult to think.
However, years of life in the palace had given her a strange conditioned reflex: when it came to the emperor, she always reacted faster than at other times.
So even though she couldn't fully understand what Jing Quan was saying, she had a guilty conscience, at least regarding tomorrow's plans. Therefore, reflexively, she could only think that something was wrong with Qin Kou'er.
"Is it Qin Kou'er? Is she trying to sow discord between the Emperor?" Hu Qianyu's eyes were red, and when she said the name Qin Kou'er, she seemed to be grinding her teeth to powder.
Quan Jing slowly straightened up. "Consort Hu, please stop making wild guesses! This matter has nothing to do with Qin Kou'er or Bei Kou'er. Let me be frank with you. His Majesty is extremely displeased with your arrangements for receiving the embroidery in the palace tonight. The items from Qin Tiange have arrived, so why is no one handling them? Why did Your Highness allow a group of strangers to move freely in this vast palace? I won't say what you're thinking, but His Majesty's thoughts are very clear. He is furious because you haven't taken His Majesty's decree seriously at all. In your heart, matters of love and romance are more appealing than His Majesty's decree! That's why you're here like this now. This is His Majesty's punishment for you, and this is something you must remember: never do anything to displease the Emperor, or your fate will be a hundred times worse than it is now!"
With that, Quan Jing turned around and slowly walked towards the main hall.
"Everything I did was for the Emperor! I couldn't just stand by and watch him be stolen away by that vixen outside..."
Quan Jing whirled around, his eyes sharp as he looked at Hu Qianyu: "Your Majesty! You must watch where you speak. This is the Emperor's Qianqing Palace! Not your east wing! If Your Majesty continues to interfere with the Emperor's wishes and spoil his mood, then your place will likely become even more desolate than the Cold Palace!"
