Chapter 284 I had a dream

Zhu Jinzhao was thrown to the ground by him and lay there crying in a sorry state.

He looked at her frail body, and his eyes showed not pity, but disgust.

"Zhu Jinzhao, you're still lying! You said you didn't put the needles in Mingyue's room, so why did you go to Mingyue's room this afternoon? And why was Mingyue's face pricked by needles the moment you left?"

"I don't know... I really don't know!" Zhu Jinzhao supported himself on the floor with both hands and struggled to sit up. "I went to Mingyue's room because Mingyue sent me a message saying that she had something to tell me, so I went there."

"Mingyue sent you a message?" Zhu Xingye narrowed his eyes, a chill running through them. "Where's the evidence? Do you have any proof that Mingyue sent you a message?"

Zhu Jinzhao nodded, but then shook her head: "I originally had it, but Mingyue deleted it."

"Deleted?" Zhu Xingye asked. "You mean you originally had chat logs that could prove Mingyue did send you a message, but Mingyue later deleted those logs? Is that right?"

Zhu Jinzhao: "Yes! I had just entered Mingyue's room when Mingyue snatched my phone and deleted the message she had just sent!"

"Lies!" Zhu Xingye didn't believe a word of it. "Zhu Jinzhao, listen to your own excuse. Does it make sense? Malicious is malicious, and doing bad things is doing bad things. Why are you making up such a ridiculous excuse to deceive me!"

"I didn't lie to you!" Zhu Jinzhao was on the verge of collapse. "Big brother, I'm your sister too! Why do you believe Mingyue's words unconditionally, but think everything I say is a lie?"

"I'm not malicious, and I haven't done anything wrong! Can you please believe me?"

"cannot!"

Two simple words shattered all of Zhu Jinzhao's hopes.

Zhu Jinchao was suddenly stunned.

Zhu Xingye looked down at her condescendingly, his voice devoid of any warmth: "Zhu Jinzhao, you have a criminal record, why should I believe you?"

Zhu Jinzhao looked up at him, trembling as she was struck by the disgust and disappointment in his tone.

What criminal record do I have?

Zhu Xingye: "Have you forgotten about how you encouraged your friends to bully Mingyue at school?"

Zhu Jinzhao: "I haven't forgotten, because I didn't do that at all!"

"Not you? Hmph..." Zhu Xingye curled his lips and said sarcastically, "Those people are your good friends of three years. All your good friends have stood up to accuse you, and you still have the nerve to say that you didn't do it?"

"..." Zhu Jinzhao was unable to refute it.

When Zhu Xingye saw her like this, he immediately laughed: "Zhu Jinzhao, even your good friend can't stand it anymore and wants to stand up and expose you, why don't you reflect on yourself?"

"Even now, you're still lying, still making excuses, still trying to smear Mingyue! I've raised you for so many years, and I never knew you were such a vicious person!"

"Zhu Jinzhao, I don't know what to say to you anymore. Just stay here and reflect on your actions."

After saying that, Zhu Xingye turned and left, leaving Zhu Jinzhao alone in the dark room without hesitation.

She was not released until four days later.

At that time, Zhu Jinzhao was too weak to stand up. The door of the small dark room slowly opened, and she practically crawled out of it.

"Chao Chao!!"

Zhu Mingyue was the first to rush over to check on Zhu Jinzhao. Zhu Jinzhao's face was deathly pale, her lips were cracked and bloodless. Hearing Zhu Mingyue's voice, she instinctively tried to open her eyes. However, due to not eating or drinking for four days, her body was so weak that she didn't even have the strength to open her eyes.

Zhu Mingyue looked at her, her heart aching so much that tears streamed down her face.

"Chaochao, how are you? Do you need to go to the hospital?"

"..." Zhu Jinzhao was too weak to speak, and silently pulled his arm away from Zhu Mingyue's hand.

Upon seeing this, Zhu Xingye's face immediately darkened.

"Mingyue, don't worry about her. She's reaping what she sowed. She deserves all the pain she's going through."

"Big brother!" Zhu Mingyue turned around and glared at him, very angry that he would speak like that.

"You're still making sarcastic remarks even after Chaochao has become like this! If you hadn't locked her in a dark room and starved her for four whole days, would she have ended up like this?"

"She brought this on herself!" Zhu Xingye was unmoved, even quite pleased with Zhu Jinzhao's current miserable state. "If she hadn't been so scheming and doing such disreputable things at home, would I have punished her like this? It's good that she's hungry; when she's hungry, she'll start to reflect on her actions."

"Big brother!" Zhu Mingyue raised her hand to wipe away her tears, choking back sobs as she pleaded for Zhu Jinchao, "Chaochao only did this because she was confused for a moment. I believe she didn't mean it! You should talk to her properly!"

"I did nothing wrong..." Zhu Jinzhao was almost fainting, but she still managed to speak up to defend herself, "I said, I didn't do this... I did nothing wrong!"

"Still not repenting!" Zhu Xingye shouted sternly.

"Big brother! Don't be mean to Chaochao!" Zhu Mingyue knelt on the ground, firmly protecting Zhu Jinchao.

Zhu Jinzhao didn't even bother to look at her, and simply closed his eyes and pretended to faint.

"Hmph!" Zhu Xingye snorted coldly and turned away.

"how so……"

Zhu Xingye, outside the dream, stared blankly at the scene before him, not understanding why he would have such a dream.

How could Zhu Jinzhao, who is so timid and kind, deliberately target and frame Zhu Mingyue? And how could Zhu Mingyue be two-faced?

And how could he not believe that the sister he had raised would punish her so severely?

“No…” He stood in the hazy mist, shaking his head helplessly, “No, it can’t be like this, it can’t happen…”

He couldn't accept the dream he was having, and just as he was about to turn around and run out of the dream, the scene in front of him changed the next second.

"Big brother, I was wrong!"

Zhu Xingye was working in his study when Zhu Mingyue suddenly ran in and knelt down in front of him.

"What's wrong?" He was puzzled, but he still helped Zhu Mingyue up immediately.

"Mingyue, let's talk this out. Why are you kneeling down to your elder brother?"

"Hmph..." Zhu Mingyue pouted, her eyes brimming with tears, making her look pitiful.

Zhu Xingye's heart softened instantly, and he quickly raised his hand to wipe away her tears: "Don't cry, don't cry, Mingyue, don't cry. Tell your big brother what happened? Did Zhu Jinzhao bully you again?"

Zhu Mingyue shook her head: "No, Chaochao didn't bully me... This time, it was me who bullied her."

"Huh?" Zhu Xingye didn't understand what she meant. "What's wrong? Why did you bully her?"
