Chapter 316 Wrist Cutting

Zhu Mingyue tugged at the corner of her lips, turned to Zhu Xingye and said, "Big brother, let's go."

"Where are you going?" Li Weiwan turned slightly to the side, blocking the doorway and cutting off Zhu Mingyue's path.

Zhu Mingyue frowned, looking at him with some confusion: "Where else can we go? Of course, we'll go home."

Li Weiwan raised her hand and gently held onto the door frame: "You can't go home yet."

"Why?" Zhu Xingye stood up from the bedside, walked aggressively to Li Weiwan, and asked in a cold voice, "I have already told you where Zhu Jinzhao is being held, why won't you let us go home?"

"Hmph..." Li Weiwan curled her lips into a cold smile, "Because once you go home, this matter will be out of my control. I dare not gamble on whether you will suddenly regret it and not want to let Jinzhao go after you go home."

"For your safety today, I must temporarily lock you up."

"How long are you going to keep me locked up?" Zhu Mingyue's face was very ugly, and her already limited patience was slowly running out.

Li Weiwan: "I will remain in custody until I am completely safe."

After saying that, he slammed the door shut, giving Zhu Mingyue no chance to bargain.

Meanwhile, at Yunmang Mountain Villa in the northern suburbs of the capital.

Zhu Jinchao wiped away her tears and slowly sat up in bed.

"You're awake?" Deng Yingke walked over from the balcony and poured her a glass of warm water.

"Have some water." He handed the water to Zhu Jinzhao. "You've been unconscious for more than eight hours, and your lips are so dry they're peeling."

"..." Zhu Jinzhao neither accepted his water nor responded to his words.

He waited a moment, and seeing that Zhu Jinzhao didn't seem to intend to pay attention to him, he tactfully placed the water next to Zhu Jinzhao.

“I don’t know where Mr. Zhu has gone. I couldn’t contact him all night. Your unconsciousness is too strange. I want to take you to the hospital to see a doctor, but I don’t dare to make that decision on my own.”

As he spoke, he pulled up a chair and sat down in front of Zhu Jinchao: "How are you feeling? Is there anything wrong?"

"..."

Zhu ignored him today.

She stared blankly at the floor beneath her feet, her lifeless eyes devoid of any vitality, as if only her body had awakened, while her soul remained trapped in a chaotic dream.

"...Jinzhao?" Deng Yingke tilted his head, raised his hand and waved it in front of Zhu Jinzhao's eyes a few times. "Jinzhao, are you alright?"

Zhu Jinchao stretched out her hand to him: "Give me your phone."

“…Huh?” Deng Yingke was a little confused.

"Hoo..." Zhu Jinzhao let out a heavy breath, closed his eyes impatiently, "I said, give me your phone, I need to make a call."

"Who do you want to call?" Deng Yingke didn't move. "If it's to President Zhu, I can help you."

The implication is that calling anyone else is not allowed.

Zhu Jinzhao didn't force him. Since he was unwilling to give it, she would think of another way.

She put on her slippers and walked out of the room without saying a word.

"...Today!" Deng Yingke was stunned for a few seconds before he suddenly came to his senses and quickly chased after him.

Where are you going today?

Zhu Jinchao looked ahead and walked quickly and steadily: "I want to leave here and find Shi Jing."

"No!" Upon hearing Shi Jing's name, Deng Yingke's hair stood on end. He raised his hand to stop Zhu Jinzhao from leaving the villa.

"Today, you cannot leave the villa, nor can you go to see Shi Jing!"

"Heh..." Zhu Jinzhao sneered, raising his eyes to look at Deng Yingke, "Who do you think you are, interfering in my affairs?"

"You were hired by Zhu Xingye. If you have any problems, go directly to him. Don't get in my way!"

"...What?" Deng Yingke was stunned by the scolding.

He looked at the woman in front of him with a confused expression, unable to believe that she could say such a thing to him.

She has always had a gentle personality; even when she's extremely angry, she'll only hurl a few sarcastic remarks or deliberately say something sarcastic. Although those words aren't very pleasant, paired with her somewhat soft and cute voice and haughty tone, they're hard to make anyone angry.

But now, Zhu Jinzhao is acting out of character. Not only are his words extremely offensive, but his tone is also chillingly menacing.

Deng Yingke's heart skipped a beat.

Zhu Jinzhao gave him an impatient glare and said coldly, "Get out of my way."

Deng Yingke was frightened by her sinister appearance, but he did not intend to step aside: "President Zhu said that you cannot leave this villa."

"Get out of here!" Zhu Jinzhao didn't care what anyone had said to him; she just wanted to leave and find her Shi Jing.

“…I won’t leave.” Although Deng Yingke sympathized with her, he couldn’t bear the consequences of letting her go on his own. He beckoned his bodyguards to block Zhu Jinzhao inside the villa, not letting her even step out of the door.

"Are you sure you don't want to leave?" Zhu Jinchao asked him one last time.

He said firmly, "I won't leave."

"Okay." Zhu Jinzhao turned and walked back to the villa.

"Eh..." Her quick agreement surprised Deng Yingke. However, he didn't think much of it, assuming that Zhu Jinzhao had given up easily, just like last time.

"Go stand guard." He dismissed the bodyguard and took out his phone from his coat pocket to try and contact Zhu Xingye again.

But Zhu Xingye's phone was still unreachable.

"Sigh..." Deng Yingke sighed. Just as he was about to instruct the nanny to prepare a meal, he heard a terrified scream suddenly come from inside the villa.

"Aaaaaah!!!"

"Put it down! Put the knife down right now!"

Deng Yingke's brow twitched. Before he could figure out what was going on, he saw Zhu Jinzhao rush out of the villa carrying a gleaming kitchen knife.

"What do you want to do?!" Deng Yingke's face turned pale instantly. "Zhu Jinzhao, don't do anything rash!"

"Hmph," Zhu Jinzhao sneered, raising the kitchen knife in his hand, the blade aimed directly at Deng Yingke.

"I'll ask you one more time, will you let me go or not?"

Deng Yingke didn't dare answer. Zhu Jinzhao's behavior was really strange; he wasn't sure if she was going to use the cleaver in her hand on herself or him. He slowly put away his phone, his gaze fixed on the cleaver, trying to calm Zhu Jinzhao down.

"I understand how you feel today, but we need to talk this out. Listen to me, put the knife down first, okay?"

Zhu Jinzhao's eyes flashed coldly, and she instantly saw through his little scheme.

She didn't have time to deal with him slowly. Seeing that he still wouldn't let her go, she simply raised her left hand and slashed her wrist hard with the kitchen knife!

The pain spread like wildly growing vines, instantly covering her entire arm. But Zhu Jinzhao gritted her teeth and didn't even blink.

"Clatter..."

Fresh blood gushed out in spurts, the viscous blood first staining Zhu Jinzhao's hands red, then dripping down to Zhu Jinzhao's feet, wetting the gray-white ground.
