Chapter 211 Clarification

—Chao Chao, don't forget your promise! You must give me an answer tomorrow! (The kitten raises a knife)

Zhu Jinzhao had just come out of the bathroom after taking a shower when she received a "fierce" reminder from Shi Jing.

Zhu Jinzhao looked at the message, smiled helplessly, and then replied seriously.

Okay! I promise I'll give you an answer tomorrow, I'm not lying!

Shi Jing: I believe in you! Are you getting ready for bed?

Zhu Jinchao held her phone up in front of the mirror, searching for a face mask in her storage bag while sending a voice message: "I'll put on a face mask and then go to sleep."

Shi Jing: Okay, how long are your classes tomorrow?

Wishing you a happy and prosperous year: "Just like today, a full day of classes..."

Shi Jing: Okay! I'll pick you up on time tomorrow. You should get some rest.

Wishing you goodnight: "Okay, goodnight."

Shi Jing: Good night!

Zhu Jinzhao is a woman of her word. Since she promised Shi Jing that she would take one night to think through her feelings, she will definitely keep her word.

After applying the face mask, she immediately lay down on the bed, closed her eyes, and focused on thinking.

However, a small accident happened while she was thinking; she drifted off to sleep while taking the test.

And she even had a sweet dream.

In her dream, she traveled back to her original world and unwittingly walked into a high school classroom.

"Zhu Jinzhao! Why are you late again?!"

The bespectacled homeroom teacher stood on the podium, looking at her impatiently, and spoke in a harsh tone.

"I……"

"I……"

Zhu Jinzhao stammered, unable to speak. Her vision blurred, and she seemed to be transported back to that suffocating and dark time.

But she didn't know why she was back here, or what she had done wrong. She stood like a statue at the classroom door, feeling only awkwardness and fear.

"Stop standing there, come in and start class!" The homeroom teacher picked up the set square in front of him, banged on the lectern a few times, and urged Zhu Jinzhao to come in.

Zhu Jinzhao nodded blankly and walked into the classroom with his shoulders hunched.

Her seat was in the second-to-last row, a bit far from the door.

Not daring to delay her homeroom teacher's class, she wisely walked very fast. But for some reason, the aisle suddenly seemed very long, and she walked for a very long time without reaching her seat.

Then the voices caught up.

Hahahaha!!!

Hahahaha!!

"Look at her clothes! There's something on them!"

"What an idiot! He actually stuck a sanitary napkin on the outside of his pants!"

"Ugh, she's so dirty..."

Mockery, humiliation, disgust... the things she had finally managed to shake off were now clinging to her like a persistent ghost.

She gripped her trouser leg tightly, closed her eyes, and rushed forward, but no matter what she did, she couldn't get out of the passageway.

Wishing you a happy day!

Suddenly, her homeroom teacher called her name.

Her heart skipped a beat, and her body seemed to freeze in place.

Hahahaha!!!

The mockery continued, but Zhu Jinzhao kept his eyes tightly shut, daring not to open them at all.

"Da, da, da..."

The homeroom teacher, wearing high heels, slowly walked up to her.

"Zhu Jinzhao, what's wrong with you?" The sharp question came crashing down on Zhu Jinzhao. Zhu Jinzhao trembled and shut his mouth tightly, not daring to speak.

The homeroom teacher swung a set square and slapped her hard on the bottom: "Are you out of your mind? Why did you stick the sanitary napkin on the outside of your pants?"

Hahahaha!!!

A burst of laughter erupted in the classroom.

"I...I didn't..." Zhu Jinzhao tried to explain himself amidst the laughter, "I'm not crazy, I didn't do such a thing!"

"No?" The homeroom teacher didn't believe it at all.

She took out her phone from her coat pocket, snapped a picture of Zhu Jinzhao's butt, and then shoved the photo in front of her, forcing her to open her eyes.

"Look at yourself! What's stuck to your school uniform pants?"

"I..." Zhu Jinzhao looked at the blood-stained sanitary napkin in the photo and suddenly felt a little breathless.

"No, it wasn't me, I didn't do it... I didn't do it, I'm not crazy!"

"Hahahaha!!" A girl in a school uniform laughed loudly as she stood up from her chair, pointing her finger high at Zhu Jinzhao's nose. "You're out of your mind! You actually picked up someone else's used sanitary napkin and stuck it on your own pants!"

"Exactly!!" the others shouted in agreement.

"May Jin Chao have something wrong with his brain!"

"I hope today is a fool!!"

"I...I didn't..." Zhu Jinzhao bit her lip, trying to explain herself weakly but stubbornly.

"Get out! Get out! Get out!" The homeroom teacher raised his hand and shoved her hard on the shoulder, saying with a face full of disgust, "Go to the toilet and clean up this filth! You're making the air in the classroom stink!"

"..." Zhu Jinzhao could no longer refute, so she could only obediently roll out of the classroom and run towards the toilet crying.

But those voices weren't going to let her go.

"May you be a fool today!"

"I hope there's something wrong with my brain today!"

"Hahaha, Zhu Jinchao runs like a pig!"

They relentlessly chased after Zhu Jinzhao, and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't shake them off, so he could only run forward desperately.

"Every morning."

A gentle call suddenly came from ahead, clearly reaching Zhu Jinzhao's ears.

Zhu Jinzhao was stunned for a moment, and then unexpectedly bumped into a warm and firm embrace.

"Zhao Zhao." The voice called from above. Zhu Jinzhao looked up blankly, only to see a face that could never possibly be there.

"Time-Time Mirror?"

Shi Jing looked at her and smiled: "I'm here."

She stared at him blankly, too shocked to continue crying.

"Shi Jing, what are you doing here?"

Shi Jing: "I came because you needed me."

"Don't be afraid, I'm here."

After saying that, he took Zhu Jinzhao's hand and led her back.

"ah--"

A piercing scream echoed through the dark corridor, then the mist dissipated, and daylight broke through.

The corridor revealed its end, and Zhu Jinzhao blinked, only to see dawn at the end.

Those lingering voices suddenly disappeared, replaced by the annoying cell phone alarm.

"Thump thump thump... thump thump..."

"Clang clang clang... clang clang..."

Zhu Jinchao sat up in bed with her eyes closed and reached out to turn off her phone alarm.

She forgot to close the curtains before going to bed last night, and now the room is so bright she can't open her eyes.

She kept her head down for a while, and only slowly opened her eyelids after her eyes had adjusted a little.

The shadows of the trees swayed outside the window, and the tender green leaves were made golden by the sunlight.

Zhu Jinchao smiled gently, and all her emotions became clear in that moment.
