Chapter 2 Overturning the Shen Family's Case
When the girl grabbed his hand, Chen Zhang's ears immediately turned red and he pushed her away. "Who is your second brother? What are you yelling about?"
Shen Zhiyang stared at Shen Shuwei with his round eyes, and whispered, "Second brother, she is the third sister. Sister Xinrou took the remaining money from the family to go to the Marquis' Mansion to recognize her relatives. Sister Xinrou doesn't want us anymore, can't we find a new third sister?"
This new third sister looks prettier and gentler than Sister Xinrou, and she likes this new third sister.
"What nonsense! We don't have a third sister." Shen Zhang glared at Shen Zhiyang and limped back. "Hurry up and go home."
Yun Ling and Qing Dai hurried forward to support Chen Shuwei. Yun Ling frowned slightly and grumbled unhappily, "Why is he like this? Girl, you are so kind to help him. It's ok for him to not acknowledge you, but why did he push you!"
Shen Shuwei shook his head slightly, chased after him and supported Shen Zhang, "Second brother is afraid of being a burden to me, so he doesn't want to recognize me, right?"
Shen Zhang's face changed, but before he could speak, Shen Shuwei continued, "Second brother is clearly still thinking about me, the sister he has never met, otherwise he wouldn't have stood at the gate of the mansion for so long with Sister Ayang."
After saying that, Shen Shuwei smiled at Shen Zhang, "Am I right?"
In her previous life, after Chu Xinrou had established herself in the Marquis' Mansion, no one from the Shen family came to visit her, nor did they inquire about her, so as not to burden them.
Shen Zhang looked at her smile, pursed his lips, pulled his hand away and pushed her away fiercely, staring at her with a sharp gaze, "Since you know everything, why did you come back? The Marquis' Mansion has raised you for so many years and must have developed feelings for you. They won't ask you to return to the Shen family, a place where you are about to die."
Chen Zhang uttered the last few words in despair through gritted teeth.
This morning, someone from the Dali Temple came and said that my father had been sentenced to execution, and the rest of them would be exiled even if they were not beheaded.
"Brother, do you think I can escape unscathed by staying in the Marquis' Mansion?" Shen Shuwei pursed his lips and looked at him, saying softly, "Family members should always be together. Brother, believe me, I have a way to help the Shen family escape unscathed."
Not only can they escape unscathed, but they can also be promoted. This opportunity will allow the Shen family to rise rapidly and gain the favor of the emperor.
Shen Zhang looked at her in disbelief. Taking advantage of his relaxed moment, Shen Shuwei approached him again, smiling and helping him walk towards the clinic.
On the way, Chen Zhang had chased her away, scolded her, and advised her against it, but Chen Shuwei tactfully rebutted every one of his words, and just told him to relax and focus on recovering from his injuries.
When they arrived at the clinic, Shen Shuwei had no money on him, so he took out the silver hairpin from his hair to pawn as payment for the consultation fee. He told Shen Zhiyang to take good care of Shen Zhang here, and when he came back, he took Yunling and Qingdai out.
Seeing his second brother lying on the couch, his face pale with pain, Shen Zhiyang went up to him obediently and wiped his sweat with a handkerchief, feeling a little worried: "Second brother, will Third Sister abandon us and leave?"
She still likes this third sister very much.
Behind him, the doctor was treating his wounds. Chen Zhang's eyebrows were twisted in pain and he sneered, "Wouldn't it be better if you left? If possible, I will definitely send you away too."
Their family could not escape death, and as for Shen Shuwei's words that he could save him, he didn't believe it.
Shen Zhiyang lowered her eyes and said nothing. While Shen Zhang was distracted talking to the doctor, she quietly followed the direction Shen Shuwei left.
Luojing had just had a heavy rain this morning, so the bluestone tiles were muddy, with dirty footprints and filth everywhere.
"Master Zhang is an honest and upright official. He once promised that anyone with grievances could come to him." Chen Zhiyang saw from afar her third sister, whom she had just met today, kneeling in the muddy water in a moon-white dress, holding a petition, and slamming it to the ground. "I, Shen Shuwei, sue the current Minister of Revenue for being a sycophant, embezzling money, and destroying the royal ancestral temple!"
In her previous life, Shen Shuwei had done extensive investigations in order to overturn the case against the Shen family. She came to know that the Shen family had been made a scapegoat, and the real culprit behind the scenes was far more than the Minister of Revenue as she mentioned.
But she is now weak and powerless, unable to touch those powerful figures, so she can only use a small-time Minister of the Ministry of Revenue as a bait to lure Censor Zhang to investigate further.
Zhang Yushi was a breath of fresh air in the court, a simple and upright man. When he was young, he once pointed at the emperor's nose and scolded him, but the emperor never reprimanded him and even praised his integrity. Now at the age of forty-five, he narrowed his eyes and stared at Shen Shuwei. When he heard her mention the destruction of the royal ancestral hall, his eyes trembled.
"Do you know how serious a crime it is to destroy the royal ancestral temple?" Censor Zhang asked with a frown.
Chen Shuwei raised his eyes and looked at him, his expression unchanged, "Of course I know, that's why I don't want the treacherous people to deceive the emperor and disrupt the government."
"The Shen family is loyal to the emperor and the country. They were framed and imprisoned only because they discovered this matter. I hope that Lord Zhang will find out the truth and clear the Shen family's name."
Chen Shuwei had just knelt hard, hitting his knees hard on the stone slab, and now the cold water on his knees caused a dull pain.
She didn't know how long she knelt there, she only knew that Censor Zhang took the petition from her hand with a complicated expression, helped her up and told her to go home.
Rubbing his aching knees, Chen Shuwei knew that he had won the bet, because in his previous life, the royal ancestral hall was overturned by a rainstorm, and the emperor was furious and ordered the three courts to hold a joint trial. In the end, it was Censor Zhang who investigated the case.
After today, the Shen family will come into the sight of His Majesty.
When Chen Shuwei slowly returned to the clinic, Yunling and Qingdai, who had been sent out by her, also came back and were standing there quietly.
"Where have you been? Your skirt is so dirty?" Chen Zhang frowned and stared at her dirty skirt.
Shen Shuwei was about to explain, but someone spoke faster than her, "The steps are wet, and I think the third sister fell."
Shen Zhiyang lowered his head and explained in a low voice.
Somehow, Shen Shuwei felt that her eyes were red, as if she had been crying.
Shen Zhang frowned and looked at Shen Shuwei from head to toe. He coughed lightly, took off his outer robe and handed it to her, "Here, I'm feeling hot while wearing it. I'll give it to you."
He said, turning away from looking at Chen Shuwei.
Chen Shu raised his eyebrows slightly and took the outer robe, then heard him ask softly, "Where did you fall? Are you hurt?"
"I didn't fall, I was just splashed with water by a passing carriage." Shen Shuwei replied.
Unexpectedly, as soon as she finished speaking, she heard Shen Zhiyang sobbing, "Third sister, I will definitely respect you well in the future."

The Jingning Marquis' Mansion was shrouded in gloom at this moment, and there was no trace of joy at having found his biological daughter.
The cause was that Chu Xinrou accidentally drank the tea she used to rinse her mouth at the dinner party, which caused Aunt Liu's daughter Chu Mingyi to laugh at her.
"Even the maids around me know that this tea is for rinsing the mouth, but you drank it to quench your thirst. You're not even as good as a maid. If this gets out, people will laugh at you."
Chu Mingyi has always been favored. In the past, she was suppressed by Chen Shuwei and did not dare to act rashly. This time, she was replaced by a weak little white flower, so how could she tolerate it? She vented her long-accumulated resentment on Chu Xinrou.
"Dad, look at my elder sister. I'm not saying anything bad about her, but if I go to a banquet with her in the future, wouldn't it be a disgrace to our Marquisate?" Chu Mingyi pestered Marquis Jingning and acted coquettishly. "She clearly knew it was a family banquet tonight, but she still wore plain clothes. If you didn't know better, you'd think she was deliberately trying to be mean to you."
