Chapter 36 Encountering Danger

As early as this morning, Liu Na had already prepared her plane ticket abroad, planning to pack her bags and run away as soon as the press conference was over.

If she admits to doing those things, it probably won't be as simple as just leaving the entertainment industry; it could very well involve criminal activity.

Liu Na was very clear-headed.

With sincere words and some deliberately fabricated evidence, Liu Na directly confirmed the victim's identity.

By the time Liu Zhu received the message, it was too late. Liu Na's press conference had already concluded, and she had successfully boarded a plane bound for the United States.

Filming was suspended. Yang Wei and the others had other work to do, so they left that day. Bai Qingze had some free time and planned to spend the rest of the time with his sister.

Liu Chenghan whispered a few words to Xu Kun, and then Xu Kun left on his own, while he stayed behind and stood with Bai Qingzhi.

Xiao Yuan originally wanted to stay, but his assistant called to say that there was something the company couldn't handle and he needed to go back in person.

"Zhizhi, I'm going back first. I'll be back in three days at the latest. Then we'll go to the place I promised you last time." Xiao Yuan said with a smile, a little reluctant to part with Bai Qingzhi.

Bai Qingzhi nodded blankly.

Xiao Yuan sighed helplessly. He was really worried about his beloved being so absent-minded!

She glanced at Liu Chenghan out of the corner of her eye, pondering how to get him away.

"Take good care of Zhizhi." Before leaving, Xiao Yuan earnestly said to Bai Qingze.

Bai Qingze gritted his teeth and rolled his eyes at Xiao Yuan.

I am Qingzhi-gege!

Although I felt it was shameless of Xiao Yuan, this old man, to like his own sister, I have to admit that Xiao Yuan's performance was indeed quite good.

Bai Qingze was also mentally assessing whether he could truly trust his sister to him.

Turning his head to look in Bai Qingzhi's direction, he saw her laughing heartily as Liu Chenghan amused her.

Bai Qingze frowned. Compared to Liu Chenghan, he still preferred Xiao Yuan.

Although the two had similar thoughts, Bai Qingze hated people like Liu Chenghan the most. He looked like a refined gentleman, but no one knew what he was really thinking.

With the crowd gone, Bai Qingzhi felt instantly relieved and slumped back in her chair.

"Brother, let's eat something else tonight," Bai Qingzhi suddenly said.

Bai Qingze was looking at his phone when he heard his sister's words and immediately ran over, nodding in agreement with a smile.

"I heard there's a famous fried rice place here. We can try it tonight," Liu Chenghan said gently.

That night at nine o'clock, the three of them disguised themselves and went out.

After all, the three of them are quite famous now, so it's better for them to keep a low profile when they go out.

Liu Chenghan and Bai Qingze followed Bai Qingzhi on either side. Compared to Bai Qingze, the older brother, Liu Chenghan was clearly more attentive.

Neither of the two men spoke, only Bai Qingzhi skipped around, looking left and right.

Just as I was having a good time, a woman dressed entirely in black suddenly emerged from the shadows.

She lowered her head and ran quickly toward the three of them.

Bai Qingzhi suddenly felt a chill all over her body; something was clearly wrong in this temperature of just over twenty degrees Celsius.

He looked up and met a pair of eyes filled with hatred.

"Assistant Liu!" Bai Qingzhi exclaimed in surprise.

Before she finished speaking, Liu Zhu was already in front of her. Suddenly, she pulled her right hand out of her bosom, and the moonlight shone down, revealing a flash of cold light.

"Qingzhi!" Two calls were made, and then Bai Qingzhi felt a gust of wind flash past her, even lifting her hair.

"It's all your fault, die!" Liu Zhu shouted, and the sharp knife in his hand fell to the ground.

With a soft "plop," it pierced through the flesh, and Bai Qingze pulled Bai Qingzhi behind him.

The next second, Bai Qingzhi saw a streak of crimson blood flash before her eyes and smelled a faint scent of blood.

Bai Qingze kicked Liu Zhufei, and the sharp knife in her hand fell to the ground.

Everything happened in a matter of seconds. By the time Bai Qingzhi reacted, Liu Zhu was already lying on the ground, while Liu Chenghan in front of her was half-squatting, clutching his chest.

"Liu Chenghan!" Bai Qingzhi saw blood flowing continuously from between his fingers.

Her voice trembled slightly, and Bai Qingzhi dared not touch him; tears welled up in her eyes.

Bai Qingze held his younger sister in his arms, patting her back with lingering fear.

Bai Qingze managed to free one hand to call for first aid and the police; his teeth were chattering.

Liu Zhu came today specifically to see Bai Qingzhi, and if Liu Chenghan hadn't shielded her, he couldn't imagine what would have happened next.

The police arrived quickly. Liu Zhu didn't hide anything and frantically declared that he wanted to kill Bai Qingzhi and that he was in this state because of her!

Liu Chenghan was also taken to the hospital, along with Bai Qingzhi and her brother.

At the same time, Liu Na stepped off the plane and stood on American soil, taking a deep breath of the air of freedom.

She has already made plans for the future; she's just temporarily hiding, since the internet has no memory.

If I just stay quiet for a few years, buy some lyrics during that time, and then make a comeback after the storm has passed.

Filled with hopeful dreams for the future, Liu Na strode out of the airport.

Then he got into the car he had booked in advance and returned to his rented home.

But then she discovered that the route seemed to be different from the navigation.

The driver was an Asian man. Liu Na's brows furrowed slowly. She picked up her phone to compare the photos and then realized that this was not the car she had booked at all.

"Who are you? What do you want?" Liu Na looked around and realized that they had long since left the city center and were all alone.

In her anxiety, Liu Na spoke her native language.

The man driving the car smiled slightly, took off his sunglasses, and then slammed on the brakes.

Liu Na's body suddenly leaned forward, and before she could sit up again, she felt a sharp pain in her head and was knocked unconscious.

The man sneered, took out his phone and snapped a few photos of her, then sent them to a number.

"Now that things are settled, you should give me what you promised."

Immediately afterward, the sound of payment being credited rang out. The man whistled excitedly, got out of the car, threw Liu Na into the trunk, and continued driving forward.

In the hospital, Bai Qingzhi leaned on her brother's shoulder, her eyes vacant and lifeless.

"Qingzhi, you should rest for a while," Bai Qingze said with some concern.

Liu Chenghan had been in surgery for more than three hours. Bai Qingzhi's eyes were red, and she didn't say a word.

"Second brother, what if Liu Chenghan doesn't come back?" Bai Qingzhi asked in a hoarse voice.

Thinking back to Liu Chenghan, it seems I've always wanted to be friends with her, but I just subconsciously feel uncomfortable.

Thinking back on her attitude towards Liu Chenghan, Bai Qingzhi felt a little sad.

"No, didn't the doctor just say that his injury was in a very lucky spot?" Bai Qingze replied, stroking her hair.

Xiao Yuan, who had already returned to City A, heard about this immediately. He called Bai Qingzhi but no one answered. Without hesitation, he put down what he was doing and turned to walk towards City B.
