The third child's family was much smarter than the second child's family, and they were all smiles and acted like nice guys the whole time.
Meanwhile, the atmosphere outside was tense. The three Bai brothers stood together, each with a smile on their face, but their words were anything but friendly.
"Big brother, isn't it inappropriate for your family to have so many shares?" The third brother was very fat and did all sorts of things, including eating, drinking, gambling, and whoring.
"Is it appropriate to give it all to you?" Father Bai asked directly, not even giving him a second glance.
The second brother was taken aback by the rebuke, then looked at the third brother.
"What's wrong? Your eyes are acting up? You should go see a doctor quickly, lest you go blind." Seeing his second son winking, Bai's father continued to press him.
He had a love-hate relationship with his second son. When they were little, the second son always followed him around, but as the third son grew up, he gradually distanced himself from him.
Father Bai knew that his second son was simple-minded and had always been used as a pawn by his third son, but the third son was happy to do so, which made him very angry.
In comparison, the third brother was much smarter. He never took the lead in anything and always let the second brother, the fool, take the lead.
"Big brother, Qingzhi isn't really a member of the Bai family. We know you and sister-in-law like her, but you only need to give her a small share of the shares. She doesn't have to be treated the same as the other children, right?" The second brother bluntly stated.
Currently, Bai's father and his family hold the majority of the shares, while the second and third sons combined are barely equal to him.
Furthermore, Mr. and Mrs. Bai had previously stated that the shares under their names would be divided equally among the children.
"Who gets the prize money is my family's business, you don't need to worry about it. Taking care of your own family is the important thing," Father Bai replied, glaring at his second son.
The second brother shrank his neck and muttered something, not daring to say anything more. The third brother cursed under his breath, then put on a smile.
"Big brother is right. We're all family, so it's not right to favor one over the other." The third brother was a cunning fox with a silver tongue, full of tricks and a treacherous and insidious nature.
The third brother's eyes darted around a few times, then he laughed even harder.
"Big brother, recently someone has expressed interest in marrying my son Xiaofan, and I'd like you to help me with your opinion." The third brother adopted a very humble attitude.
Bai's father knew Bai Fan well; he was gentle, unassuming, and low-key in his work.
After all, she was his own niece, so Mr. Bai nodded.
"Which family is he from? When a young girl is looking for a boyfriend, family background is certainly important, but the most important thing is that the man comes from a respectable family and has good character," said Mr. Bai.
In high society circles, it's perfectly normal for men to keep mistresses outside the home, but everyone knows that while they may have fun outside, the position of their spouse at home cannot be shaken.
Anyone who abandons his wife and children because of this will become a laughing stock in the entire upper class.
The third child smiled even more brightly upon hearing this, and unconsciously raised his head to reply:
“A few days ago, your sister-in-law went out for a beauty treatment and happened to run into Mrs. Xiao. During their conversation, she mentioned that she was planning to find a spouse for her son, and the person Mrs. Xiao preferred was Xiao Fan.”
When Bai's father heard about the Xiao family, his brows furrowed immediately. There was probably only one Xiao family that could excite the third son like this.
The second son's eyes widened upon hearing this, and he muttered somewhat resentfully:
"How come your family is so lucky? My family has two daughters!"
The third brother's expression became even more smug.
"I only have one daughter, and I've raised her with my own hands since she was little." The implication is that his daughter is very outstanding.
The second son was even more indignant.
"Is Madam Xiao referring to Xiao Yuan?" Bai's father asked.
The third brother nodded.
I thought I would see Bai's father react with jealousy, but to my surprise, he suddenly laughed instead.
"Then I'll stay here and wish my third brother all his wishes come true." With that, he left.
The two men couldn't understand what he meant, but the third brother subconsciously attributed it to his unwillingness to accept it and his reluctance to endure it.
You know, once my daughter marries Xiao Yuan, what will Bai's father be? With the support of the Xiao family, why would the Bai family be afraid that Bai's father will be better than me?
Xiao Yuan was the last to arrive. He quickly finished his last business deal, changed his clothes, and rushed over. Today was the old lady of the Bai family's birthday, so he had to make a good impression.
Today he specially wore a black suit with a blue tie, and the cufflinks were the same set he gave Bai Qingzhi that day. If the two of them stood together, they would easily be mistaken for wearing matching outfits.
This is exactly the effect he wanted.
Seeing Bai's father not far away, Xiao Yuan straightened his clothes and walked over.
“Mr. Xiao.” Mr. Bai’s attitude was somewhat cold.
"Uncle, you can just call me Xiao Yuan," Xiao Yuan replied politely.
Mr. Bai didn't say anything, he just raised his glass in a gesture of respect before turning and walking away to others.
Xiao Yuan frowned slightly. Although the Bai family knew about his feelings for Zhizhi, they didn't have to be so indifferent.
I had just met Bai's father a few days ago. Although he looked down on me, his attitude was much better than it was today.
As he turned around, he saw the third son of the Bai family walking over, and he was unusually enthusiastic towards him.
Xiao Yuan gave a few lukewarm replies and then began searching for Bai Qingzhi.
As the bell rang, all the lights dimmed, followed by a spotlight.
Two figures, one in blue and one in red, helped the old lady out, and Xiao Yuan's lips unconsciously curled up.
Bai Qingzhi felt a burning gaze fixed on her, but she couldn't look around right now, making her feel extremely uncomfortable.
Bai Qinghuan also noticed it alertly. She glanced over out of the corner of her eye and, sure enough, it was that old man Xiao Yuan who was coveting her sister.
She rolled her eyes discreetly and shifted slightly to avoid his gaze.
Xiao Yuan's eyes flashed, and he began to think about how to win over this sister-in-law to his side.
After the old lady announced that everyone was free to move around, Xiao Yuan walked towards Bai Qingzhi, but someone beat him to it before he could get there.
"Liu Chenghan?" Bai Qingzhi asked in surprise.
Liu Chenghan smiled politely, adjusted his glasses, and replied:
"I thought you didn't remember me."
Bai Qingzhi smiled slightly, and then heard Liu Chenghan continue:
"May I invite Miss Bai to dance with me later?"
Seeing Liu Chenghan politely extend his hand in invitation, Bai Qingzhi couldn't refuse and gently placed her hand on his.
Xiao Yuan stood not far away, emanating black smoke.
"President Xiao seems to be quite resentful?" Bai Qinghuan teased.
"How can we not be resentful when our precious treasure has been stolen?" Xiao Yuan replied, but his eyes remained fixed on the two of them.
Bai Qinghuan chuckled at Xiao Yuan's childish appearance. This wasn't a case of a treasure being stolen; it was more like a dog having its meat bun stolen!
Bai Qinghuan followed the two with her gaze and asked:
"Would Mr. Xiao be so kind as to invite me to dance?"
Xiao Yuan seemed to have thought of something, and then reached out his hand, which Bai Qinghuan placed on his.
The two danced until they were next to Bai Qingzhi. Liu Chenghan was very polite and did not put his hand on her waist.
Seeing this, Xiao Yuan's resentment lessened somewhat.
