Chapter 181 Let Strength Speak

Neither Ou Yiyi nor Bai Qingzhi spoke. The woman turned her head appropriately, revealing her swollen cheek.

Wenzhou's eyes immediately spotted it.

He strode over. He had some recollection of the woman who had been beaten; she was promoted by a talent agency, and he had seen clips of some of her previous works. Her acting was decent.

Her performance just now was also commendable, making her a potential candidate for the fourth female lead.

As he got closer, Wenzhou carefully examined the handprint on the woman's face, then turned to Ou Yiyi and asked:

"You hit him?"

Ou Yiyi was a little scared, but she nodded and admitted it when asked.

It seems likely that the role will be canceled this time. After all, such a heinous incident as assault happened right under his nose, and Wenzhou couldn't possibly turn a blind eye.

In addition, he seemed to take this matter very seriously.

The woman was secretly pleased to see this.

"Come an hour earlier tomorrow," Wenzhou said before turning and leaving.

But this sentence left them all dumbfounded.

What's going on? Shouldn't Wenzhou have just told Ou Yiyi that she didn't need to come tomorrow?

Bai Qingzhi and Ou Yiyi exchanged a glance, both seeing joy in each other's eyes.

The woman gritted her teeth, lowered her head, and covered her swollen cheeks with her hair.

The next day, there weren't as many people. When Bai Qingzhi and her companion arrived, the interview room was almost empty except for a few more enthusiastic individuals.

Wenzhou sat in a chair, holding a script in his hand and frowning, with scraps of paper scattered all around him.

"Pretty punctual." Wenzhou looked up when he heard footsteps.

Bai Qingzhi then noticed his dark circles under his eyes and his messy hair.

He clearly hadn't slept all night.

The two arrived ten minutes early for their agreed-upon time.

Ou Yiyi pulled Bai Qingzhi's hand and walked into the interview room, only to find that Wenzhou was the only person inside.

Wenzhou washed his face, his hair was still a little wet, but his eyes were bright and alert as he looked at Ou Yiyi.

He tossed the script to Ou Yiyi and nodded to indicate that they could begin.

Bai Qingzhi sat quietly below. Wen Zhou had more than one script in his hand, and she had just glanced at it unintentionally.

Then they discovered that the role Wenzhou had Ou Yiyi audition for was not the same one they were auditioning for; it was the biggest villainous second female lead in the entire series.

Although Ou Yiyi had her doubts, she still obediently started acting while looking at the script.

There weren't as many people at the event today, so Ou Yiyi was much less nervous and got into the zone very quickly.

She performed several scripts without props in just over ten minutes, but Wenzhou, sitting in the chair, showed no sign of stopping her.

Taking advantage of a break, Ou Yiyi glanced at Bai Qingzhi and, knowing that she wanted to continue, began to improvise.

It wasn't until there was a knock on the interview door and Wenzhou's assistant came to inform him that all the actors had arrived that he seemed to snap out of his daze.

This time, however, he didn't have to wait as long as yesterday for the results. Almost the instant Ou Yi stepped off the stage, Wen Zhou took a big step toward Ou Yi.

"Welcome to my new drama," Wenzhou said excitedly, extending his hand.

Before the two could even ask what role it was, Wenzhou gave the answer directly.

It was actually the second female lead, someone they never even dared to dream of!

“I think you’re more suitable for this role than the fourth female lead. After all, that slap yesterday was crisp and powerful, and you perfectly match my fantasy of the second female lead.” Wenzhou’s eyes shone with excitement.

He was looking for a character who looked gentle and weak, but was ruthless and cruel in the drama, yet whose actions were understandable.

Wenzhou believes that as long as this character is portrayed well, the entire drama will be enhanced.

The two thanked Wenzhou excitedly, received the invitation from the film crew, and walked out of the house, where they happened to run into someone who had come for an interview.

Perhaps they would all meet on set in the future, so Bai Qingzhi nodded politely to Ou Yiyi.

The production team hadn't released an announcement yet, and Bai Qingzhi couldn't reveal this information, but to celebrate, the two went to a restaurant.

They called out Qiao Shanshan and Jiang Yan, and the four of them enjoyed a delicious meal before returning to the company.

Now that Ou Yiyi has risen to the ranks of artists, and everyone knows that she was personally mentored by Bai Qingzhi, it's only a matter of time before she becomes a sensation. Therefore, some people in the company have their own ideas and are trying to get close to Ou Yiyi while Bai Qingzhi is away.

Once she becomes famous, I can ride her coattails.

Ou Yiyi wasn't stupid. She greeted everyone politely with a smile, but avoided talking about certain topics that others were discussing.

But others still enjoyed it.

They didn't dare to disturb Bai Qingzhi, so they grabbed Ou Yiyi and kept talking.

Xiao Yuan was reading documents in his office when he heard a soft knock on the door. Without looking up, he simply said "Come in," and then he heard a light jogging sound coming from inside.

Just as he was about to reprimand her, Xiao Yuan caught a glimpse of a red garment out of the corner of his eye and recognized it as Zhizhi.

Everyone in his company, regardless of gender, is required to wear formal attire.

Sure enough, when he looked up, he saw Bai Qingzhi running in with a happy expression. Xiao Yuan quickly got up and made room for her in the boss's chair, and reached out to grab her hand.

"What's the rush? What if you fall?" Xiao Yuan patted her hair and pressed her into the chair.

"I'm not a child!" Bai Qing replied childishly.

Xiao Yuan affectionately ruffled her hair and replied with a smile:

"Not much older than a child."

Bai Qingzhi gave him a charming glare, then remembered the purpose of her visit and stood up to tell him what had happened that day.

"Director Wenzhou is really as cold-hearted as the rumors say!" Bai Qingzhi finally came to this conclusion.

Looking at Bai Qingzhi's appearance, Xiao Yuan helplessly recalled the time when she was so excited to take Ou Yiyi with her.

Upon hearing that there was a new play in Wenzhou, Bai Qingzhi immediately set her sights on it and directly rejected Xiao Yuan's attempt to use connections.

According to her, if Ou Yiyi weren't a truly talented artist, she wouldn't be able to handle even the best resources.

Why not let her try her best this time? If she fails, we can arrange another variety show for her when she comes back.

Knowing Zhizhi's personality, he believed that if he chose to do something, he had to do it well, so Xiao Yuan didn't stop him at the time.

He secretly thought that if Zhizhi was hurt, he could just quietly go to Wenzhou and ask him to arrange a role for her.

He and Wenzhou had some interactions; although they weren't close, they knew each other. In addition, Wenzhou's new drama had a large investment, and most people weren't optimistic about it.

Xiao Yuan injected funds a few days ago, so even considering that, it shouldn't be difficult to arrange a dispensable role for him.

But what he didn't expect was that the naive boy had a keen eye and found a hidden gem.

You should know that Wenzhou is known for being picky in the industry. He doesn't care who you are or who's behind you. If you don't meet his expectations, even the Emperor himself can't help you.
