Xiao Yuan made no attempt to stop Wen Wen, and even generously handed her his phone.
"Aren't you afraid I'll tell my cousin that Bai Qingzhi isn't dead?" Wen Wen's eyes were full of questions.
“If Miss Wen wants Enzhe to take Qingzhi back, she can just say so,” Bai Qinghuai said, seemingly unconcerned.
Wen Wen gritted her teeth, looked at the two of them, and then dialed the old housekeeper's number.
As soon as the call connected, the old housekeeper immediately asked where she was.
The person who was protecting Wen Wen had just been lost. The old housekeeper also showed more care for this daughter-in-law whom the old lady had chosen.
"It's nothing, I just had a bit of an upset stomach and went to the bathroom." Wen Wen didn't mention that Xiao Yuan had taken her away.
The two exchanged a glance, knowing that their plan was in place.
After briefly letting her know she was safe, Wen Wen went straight to asking:
"What's going on in the news? I saw my cousin brought a woman home?"
The old butler on the other end paused for a moment, and was about to speak when Wen Wen continued:
"Don't lie to me, I want to hear the truth."
The old butler hesitated for even longer, but finally sighed and slowly spoke:
"That's right, the young master did bring back a woman, but Miss, don't worry, it's just a fling between the two of them."
Upon hearing the old housekeeper's words, Wen Wen immediately understood what was going on. Her face darkened, and she gripped her phone as if she wanted to crush it.
"That woman, does she look like... Enzhi?" Wen Wen originally wanted to say whether she looked like Bai Qingzhi, but then changed her mind.
The old butler's silence was the best answer.
Wen Wen closed her eyes, suppressing her anger, and said she understood before hanging up the phone.
Finally, as if still not satisfied, he threw the phone away.
The phone shattered into pieces the moment it hit the wall.
"Miss Wen can leave now. If you've thought it through, you can come find me. I'll be waiting anytime." Xiao Yuan stood up, as if to leave.
Wen Wen's eyes were icy cold. Before Xiao Yuan could even take a step out, she spoke.
"No need, we can cooperate now."
"But I have only one request, and that is to do it as soon as possible. I want Euncheol to marry me openly and legitimately within a month."
"No problem," Bai Qinghuai stood up and replied with a gentlemanly smile.
Wen Wen ate dinner at the villa that day before leaving. Before leaving, she looked at Bai Qingzhi and told Xiao Yuan that Bai Qingzhi should not be allowed to return to the Sand Kingdom.
Enzhe was a nightmare for Bai Qingzhi. During this period, she vaguely had some memories, but they were all about the operating table.
That feeling of coldness and helplessness made her not want to get up at all.
Even without Wen Wen saying anything, Bai Qingzhi would never be able to return to the Sand Kingdom.
That evening, Wen Wen and Xiao Yuan made an appointment to return by plane. The old butler greeted her at the door and wanted to say something when he saw her, but Wen Wen waved him away.
After handing her luggage to the maid, Wenwen went straight to Enzhe's room.
Enzhe never let her into his bedroom. In the past, Wenwen comforted herself that he was like that with everyone, but deep down she knew that Enzhe didn't love her.
The bedroom door was ajar, and incongruous sounds of moaning and groaning could be heard from inside. Peeking through the crack in the door, one could see a woman's face that resembled Bai Qingzhi's.
Enzhe was working hard, while Wenwen felt her heart slowly sinking to the bottom and then being torn apart.
Her long fingernails had already dug into her flesh, and Wenwen's eyes seemed fixed on the two of them.
The woman seemed to sense something, and looked up to meet her gaze. Wen Wen thought she would panic, but instead, the woman revealed a provocative smile.
A look of madness flashed in Wen Wen's eyes, but then calm replaced it, and a smile curved her lips.
Turning away without a second thought, Wen Wen quietly returned to her bedroom.
When Enzhe came out, Wenwen was making a late-night snack in the kitchen. Seeing her back, Enzhe frowned unhappily.
"Why are you back?" Enzhe's tone was completely indifferent.
Wen Wen paused for a moment while holding the shovel, but the pause was fleeting as she turned her head and put on her signature smile.
"I have nowhere else to go but here."
Enzhe's brows furrowed even more; he had completely forgotten that Wenwen was homeless.
She was brought to live with her mother because her parents had an accident.
Without saying a word, Wen Wen took a glass of water and drank it. She also fell silent, and for a moment the entire hall was deathly quiet.
Wenwen focused on preparing the late-night snack, then asked Enzhe if he wanted some. He wasn't disappointed when Enzhe refused and ate it all by himself.
There's a big show to perform later, so she needs to eat well to have the energy.
I estimated the time in my mind, and half an hour later I heard a loud bang from the study, followed by the sound of things being swept to the floor.
The old butler ran over as soon as he heard the sound, and the next second, an anxious shout came.
Eun-cheol fainted.
He also had a report from his subordinates on recent company matters lying beside him.
A company with whom he had a past conflict openly sabotaged him, resulting not only in the deaths of several of his subordinates but also in significant losses.
Wenwen arrived later and, upon seeing Enzhe faint, immediately called a doctor in a panic.
Enzhe woke up an hour later, and all he saw was Wenwen's tired face.
"Cousin, you scared me to death! How did you suddenly faint? The doctor said it was due to a sudden surge of anger, but it's not a serious matter." Wen Wen hurriedly brought over a glass of water, speaking as she walked.
Enzhe was naturally suspicious and extremely confident in his own body. Upon hearing Wenwen's words, he immediately became suspicious as well.
He didn't drink the water; he just looked at Wen Wen with a suspicious gaze.
"I'm tired, you can leave," Enzhe said coldly.
Wenwen wanted to stay, but looking at the other person's face, she left instead.
After watching the door close, Enzhe picked up the phone and called the doctor, who confirmed that he had eaten something unclean.
He spoke eloquently, but Enzhe knew that someone had definitely drugged him.
It was just a simple drug.
He had only drunk water before he fainted, and Wenwen was in the kitchen at the time.
His eyes flashed with a cold glint in them. Only after Enzhe realized that there was nothing wrong with his body did he sit up.
If someone can drug you at home, even if this time it was just a sleeping potion, there's no guarantee that next time it won't be poison.
After giving a few instructions to his subordinates, Enzhe regained his strength, got up and walked out of the room, only to bump into the woman who looked exactly like Bai Qingzhi.
The woman still had marks on her body, and when she saw Eun-cheol, she hurriedly asked how she was.
Looking at the other person's face, Enzhe slowly withdrew his hand.
If it were the real Bai Qingzhi, she probably wouldn't have shown such a rich range of expressions upon seeing him faint, right?
Unconsciously, Euncheol imagined what Bai Qingzhi's reaction would be if it were real. The more women Euncheol looked at, the more annoyed he became.
After driving the woman away, Enzhe returned to his study alone, where his subordinates quickly delivered their reports.
