Chapter 127 Special

When everything was finished, the clock had struck nine.

In the room, He Yi hung a Q-version cartoon keychain on his backpack, glanced at He Chen who also cherished the ancient-style bookmarks tucked inside her books, and slowly said, "She seems different from ordinary girls."

A smile appeared on He Chen's fair and refined face as he met his gaze and said, "Isn't this a good thing?"

Other girls might confuse them, but He Jing wouldn't.

Other girls treated them all the same, but He Jing didn't.

Even when Cheng Yi gave them gifts, they always gave them the same two sets, but He Jing would buy them different gifts.

Over the years, they had clearly gotten used to it, but with He Jing around, they still felt flattered and considered themselves to be exceptionally independent individuals.

He Yi then looked at the two pairs of brand-new, expensive sneakers placed side by side behind the door and said with a hint of sarcasm, "Who would have thought that we, who came from the same womb, would hate each other?"

He Chen smiled faintly: "It's you who hates my fifth brother, I've never hated you."

He Yi didn't even lift his eyelids, and said, "I don't believe you."

They were born less than a second apart, like twins, not only looking alike but also able to sense each other's feelings.

He Chen hates him, just as he hates He Chen; this is an undeniable fact.

He Yuan thought for a moment and then said, "Don't be so optimistic. What if she just bought two different gifts on a whim, and tomorrow she'll treat us like one person, just like Xiao Yi and everyone else?"

He Yi hesitated for a moment. He had a gut feeling that He Jing wasn't like that, but since no one had ever looked at him and He Chen separately before, he became somewhat uncertain again.

The two stopped talking, because when they weren't discussing important matters, they almost ignored each other and went about their own business.

A short while later, He Zhou pushed open the door and came in. His usually smiling face was full of gloom, and dark clouds gathered between his brows, giving the impression that he was in an extremely bad mood.

In the He family, He Yi and He Zhou were the closest, even more so than He Chen. Upon seeing him, He Yi asked softly, "What's wrong, Third Brother? Who upset you? Why are you looking like this?"

He Zhou glanced up at him silently, ignored him, and went straight to his bed, where he lay down.

He Yi's eyelids twitched. Unlike He Ning, He Zhou was not introverted and would usually confide in others when something unhappy happened. This was the first time he had ever seen He Zhou act like the sky was falling.

Based on his understanding of He Zhou, He Yi immediately thought of He Jing and couldn't help but ask, "Where is He Jing? What is she doing now?"

He Zhou had his back to him, not turning his head, and said coldly, "He Jing took my older brother to catch the bus."

He Yuan still had to go back to his university dormitory.

He Yi paused, somewhat surprised. Usually, when He Yuan was about to leave, it was He Zhou who would see him off. Could it be that He Zhou was so unhappy because He Jing had taken over He Zhou's job?

"It seems that He Jing and her older brother have a pretty good relationship."

He Zhou closed his eyes, his mind filled with He Jing's face, thinking: She not only has a good relationship with He Yuan, but she has almost conquered the entire He family.

When he came in just now, he saw He Ning deliberately sitting in the living room pretending to listen to music and tutor He Xiaoguo with her homework, but in fact, his eyes never left He Jing. His hidden affection for her was no less than that for Cheng Yi.

A basketball completely won him over.
