Chapter 19 Shifting the Blame East

Yan Hanxi was initially annoyed, but when she turned around, she was taken aback, and then curled her thin lips into a smile.

He chuckled lightly and said in a nonchalant tone, "Boss, it's not appropriate to wait so long before making a move, is it?"

Then he bent down to pick up the backpack he had used as a shield from the ground, as well as the books and papers that had fallen out of it.

He Jingxiu frowned.

A senior high school student from No. 1 High School said, "So you guys are all in cahoots!"

Yan Hanxi said confidently, "Didn't you see she was wearing Yin Gao's school uniform? Of course we're on the same side, right, boss?"

He Jing said coldly, "Shut up!"

That damn male lead, he actually dragged her into this mess, has no shame!

Clearly, someone was extremely shameless. He imitated her posture from before, leaning against the wall and completely hiding himself in the darkness. He lazily said, "Let me introduce you. This is the top girl in our school. If she says east, I dare not go west. If she tells me to stand, I dare not lie down. You guys knocked over her ice cream. You're finished."

A senior high school student from No. 1 High School wore a horrified expression that said, "Stop lying to me, you idiot!": "How is that possible? Yin Gao High School has never had a female school bully!"

Someone smiled broadly: "Unfortunately, we're breaking precedent starting today."

The senior students at No. 1 High School were completely stunned, looking at He Jing with trepidation, as if they were looking at a female dinosaur.

He Jing, having been shifted to the side by Yan Hanxi, chuckled coldly and placed the oden she was holding on the ground...

Ten minutes later, the alley was filled with "corpses" lying haphazardly.

Yan Hanxi, with his backpack slung over his shoulder and the other hand in his pocket, asked, "Hey, what's your name?"

He Jing ignored him, picked up the oden from the ground, and turned to leave. Yan Hanxi licked his lips, itching to try again, and said, "How about we become sworn brothers? I'll protect you from now on, in every sense of the word."

He Jing knew, of course, how much confidence he had in saying those words.

As the most prestigious family in City A, and with him being the heir of the Yan family, he basically has everything he could ever want. If he were to truly set his sights on protecting someone, that person could essentially do whatever they wanted in City A.

but--

She doesn't need it.

He Jing didn't even lift her eyelids, and said "Okay" without any expression, then turned around and waved her hand, her short skirt fluttering in the wind.

"After you come out of the detention center after five days, little brother."

Five minutes later—

The boy who won the fight and the "corpse" of the boy who lost were all put into police cars.

A senior high school student cried out, "We were the ones who were beaten, why are we being arrested too?"

The police officer pulled out his baton and threatened him coldly: "You're so young and you're already learning bad habits. You'd better behave yourselves."

Only the cold-faced boy remained expressionless, his brows and eyes carrying a hint of gloom, looking as if he wanted to devour someone.

...

He Jing returned home very late. Her whole family looked at her, seemingly surprised by her appearance. Then, an awkward silence fell over the living room, and even He Sui's face showed a hint of unease.

Mrs. He was clearly embarrassed. She hurriedly got up from the sofa and said, "Jingjing is back. How was your day at school? I'll make you some noodles."

He Jing had already guessed what was going on. She picked up the bag of oden and said gently and understandingly, "It was my first time taking the bus home, so I got lost. Mom, don't worry about me. I've already eaten. Look what I brought you."

He Xiaoguo practically pounced on her, her voice crisp and bright: "It's delicious!"

He Jing laughed even harder, opened the bag of oden, picked out a skewer of fish balls for him, and then put the rest on the table. Then she heard He Sui give a proud hum and mutter, "I thought you ran back to the Cheng family again. You came back so late that we didn't even leave you any food."

He Jing knew they would think that way, and her smile turned a little helpless as she said, "Now that I'm here, I'm not leaving again, and it's even more impossible for me to sneak back."

She paused, then turned to look at He Ning and asked, "Second Brother, do you want some? It won't taste good if it gets cold."
