Chapter 22 Dreams

That's incredibly skillful!

Both girls were equally stunned by his handsomeness.

He Jing looked straight ahead and answered casually, "It's been a while. I used to dream of becoming a race car driver."

"And now?"

"I want to be a Nobel Prize winner."

Two girls: "..."

Student A (academic underachiever): "What prompted you to make such a great psychological leap?"

He Jing said in a calm tone: "Women are not allowed to participate in F1."

Underachiever A: "..."

That's so true.

On the way to the private library, the conversation in the Ferrari was almost nonstop, while He Jing barely spoke throughout the entire journey, except for the part mentioned at the beginning.

The two girls chattered away, talking about everything from popular celebrities to the school forum, and then back to Yan Hanxi. They were so engrossed in their conversation that they didn't forget to include He Jing in the discussion as well.

"Jing-jie, how are things going with Yan Hanxi? If it's really not going well, we can try pursuing someone else. I have a senior in my WeChat Moments who's really handsome. If you're interested, I'll give you his WeChat."

He Jing waited at a red light and said indifferently, "I'm not interested in Yan Hanxi anymore, and I won't pursue him anymore."

The academically challenged student, A, suddenly saw his chance: "Sister Jing, look at me! I'm not a jerk! I can be your boyfriend!"

He Jing: "...Ugly rejection."

Student A (academic underachiever): ...I'm done with love.

The two girls thought He Jing had been hurt while pursuing him, so they both tried to comfort her and cursed the scumbag to death. He Jing laughed and said, "I don't want to be in a relationship for now. I just want to study hard."

The girl was very disappointed that she couldn't sell the senior to him, so she had to give up the idea. In the blink of an eye, they had arrived at the library.

The private library of the academically challenged student A is open to the public on weekdays, except for Saturdays and Sundays. At this time, regular libraries are already closed, so this is the only place to come.

He Jing explained the problems to them until 11 o'clock, and the group of underachievers finally felt that they had grasped the concepts.

When it comes to He Jing's god-like thinking and learning ability, they can't think of anything other than "666".

Afterwards, the academically challenged student A volunteered: "Sister Jing, I'll take you home!"

The other students started to tease him, making the academically challenged student A blush with embarrassment.

He Jing remained calm and said, "No need. It's close to home. I'll walk back. It's getting late, you should all go home and rest."

A, a student who had been rejected twice, was feeling disheartened and insisted on taking He Jing to the library. The two walked out of the revolving door together, and under the dim streetlights, a slender figure stood alone, casting a dark shadow on the ground.

He Jing was taken aback for a moment, then curled her red lips and turned to the academically challenged student A, saying, "No need to see me off, go get your car."

The academically challenged student A was dumbfounded. Before he could even ask "why," he saw He Jing, like a joyful butterfly, walk lightly towards the person under the streetlight and call out, "Second Brother."

He Ning lowered her eyes and said in a nonchalant tone, "My parents were worried about you, so they sent me to pick you up."

"I know." He Jing took his arm affectionately. "Let's go, Mom and Dad must be getting impatient."

He Ning frowned, but ultimately didn't break free. He glanced at He Jing; the girl's face under the moonlight was as pure as an angel, and her bright smile seemed to sweeten one's heart. Instantly, it was as if a small pebble had been thrown into the lake of his heart, causing ripples to spread.

He Jing, oblivious to anything amiss, asked with a sweet smile, "Are Mom and Dad asleep?"

"She's asleep."

"That must have been hard work for you, Second Brother."

"...It's not hard work."

The two walked back, their shadows intertwined like conjoined twins. He Ning smelled the girl's fragrance beside him, like a sweet orange with a faint milky scent. He was silent for a moment, then abruptly said, "I'm sorry."
