Chapter 258 My Dear Sister

He Zhou scoffed: "How could that be?"

He wouldn't let any opportunity to climb the ladder slip by, until he surpassed her, and he would make her willingly become his partner.

He Jing smiled and said, "That's settled then. Instead of worrying about how you got hired, Third Brother should think about how to cook."

He Zhou paused for a moment and said sarcastically, "Well, thank you so much, my dear sister."

He Jing smiled gently, already used to his attitude, and didn't bother to argue with him. She walked around him and poured herself a glass of water.

He Zhou was inexplicably furious. Was she a pig? She couldn't even talk back when she was being talked to.

He Jing had already entered the room and closed the door. From inside, there were faint noises, like someone changing shoes.

He Jing was indeed struggling to cope. During the bus ride, one of her blisters had burst without her noticing, and now even the slightest touch felt like being cut with a knife.

She pulled out the ointment she had bought at the pharmacy on her way home from her schoolbag, relieved that she didn't have to cook or do homework that night.

She unscrewed the cap, squeezed out a white ointment with a faint medicinal scent, and carefully applied it to her feet, her movements incredibly slow.

She quickly finished applying the ointment, and the blisters became less painful due to the cooling effect of the ointment. She breathed a sigh of relief and picked up her senior year math textbook from the bedside table.

Just then, the door was opened with a "click."

He Jing's eyelids twitched, she put down her book, and saw He Zhou standing at the door with a poker face.

He was about to say something, but when his gaze fell on her feet, he immediately swallowed his words and then said with disdain, "Don't tell me that your feet are like this and that applying some ointment is all it takes."

He Jing slightly opened her eyes, somewhat puzzled: "Isn't that how it is?"

He Zhou sneered: "What do you think?"

He Jing was silent for a moment, then looked up and smiled: "Then I'll trouble Third Brother to help me with this."

Thinking of the Zhou family restaurant, He Zhou swallowed the question "Why should I?" and turned to leave. Less than half a minute later, he returned with two more items in his hands.

He Jing's smile froze.

Needle, lighter?

Want to stab her?

"Third Brother, I searched online and found that blisters shouldn't be popped directly, as they can easily become infected and inflamed."

He Zhou glanced at her, and seeing her unusually timid attitude, he immediately curled his lips into a smirk, his attitude extremely irritating: "It's good that you're not dead."

He Jing's temples throbbed, and she took a deep breath: "Third Brother, I'm very tired today, and I don't want to argue with you."

He Zhou scoffed, "Take it or leave it. If you don't want to, forget it."

After saying that, he turned and left.

He Jing suddenly noticed the brown scabs on the back of his hand and her heart skipped a beat: "Third Brother, come on, I'm not afraid of pain."

He Zhou stopped in his tracks, then turned to look at her. He gave her a cold stare, and after a long while, he sneered, "Not afraid of pain? You're kidding me."

He Jing reluctantly accepted his acupuncture treatment, staring at the scabs on the back of his hand: "Third Brother, was this also burned before?"

He Zhou's handsome face stiffened. He ignored her and quickly picked all the blisters off her feet.

Then, he put her foot down and said sourly, "No wonder you're a rich heiress, you don't even have a mole on your instep."

He Jing asked, "Does Cheng Yi have a mole?"

He Zhou choked abruptly, his cheeks flushed red, and he stormed out in a fit of rage and shame.

He Jing: "..."

You can get angry about this?

He Zhou walked to the door, then suddenly stopped, coldly squeezing out, "The band-aid is in the TV cabinet drawer, go find it yourself."

He Jing responded softly, "Oh..."
