Chapter 302 Craving

Of all the people at the table, He Zhou was the only one who remained unmoved. He didn't even have much of an appetite, and his expression was gloomy, making him look quite unhappy.

He Xiaoguo sat next to him, blinking her big, clear eyes like grapes, picked up a shrimp and put it in his bowl, saying obediently, "Third Brother, shrimp is so delicious."

He Zhou then composed himself and uttered a calm "Mm".

At this moment, Qian Lizhen, who was already half full, finally managed to spare a moment of attention, looked up from the delicious food, and said, "Jingjing, look, our two families have made up, and the barbecue stall business is booming..."

He Jing paused, her hand reaching for the food, and her eyelashes fluttered. Then she raised her beautiful eyes, her gaze sparkling, and smiled gently, asking with utmost care, "Auntie, is the food I made to your liking?"

Qian Lizhen's smile froze.

This answer is completely nonsensical...

But she couldn't show it, so she put on a fawning smile, trying to close the distance between them, and said, "Jingjing, you see, your aunt knows she was wrong. She'll definitely treat you siblings better from now on. We're all family, and family members should resolve any grievances behind closed doors. Involving outsiders is a bit much..."

He Jing smiled and said "Oh", then picked up a glutinous rice ball with her chopsticks and put it in her bowl, saying, "Auntie, I saw you eating a lot of these balls, so it seems you like them very much. Here, the last one is for you too."

"Quiet!"

Qian Lizhen's face gradually became flushed. She wanted to find a way out, but He Jing glanced at her with a half-smile and asked with feigned concern, "What's wrong, Aunt? Did you eat too much?"

Qian Lizhen's expression froze, and she felt a chill run down her spine. She gave an awkward smile and nodded with difficulty, "Yes, I'm full."

He Jing stood up with a smile, cleared away all of her plates and chopsticks, and then said, "Auntie, this table is small and crowded. Would you like to move over a bit?"

Qian Lizhen finally couldn't hold back any longer and stood up abruptly, ready to vent her anger. He Jing blinked at her, as if she were being unreasonable. Zhu Qiang tugged at her sleeve at the right moment and said, "Go sit over there first, I'll come and get it in a bit."

Qian Lizhen then held back her anger and left the table.

She sat on the sofa, feeling utterly annoyed, and listened as He Jing urged the others to continue eating, seemingly ignoring her completely. This only fueled her anger, and she felt an urge to pin He Jing down in the soup bowl.

However, she soon regretted it, because the aroma of food wafted continuously, and her already empty stomach kept rumbling. She couldn't help but lick her lips, and the cravings in her body were awakened by an extremely strong desire.

The flavors of chicken, duck, fish, and seafood mingled together, like a rich and intoxicating symphony. She was immersed in this symphony, yet unable to participate, her soul felt empty.

Coupled with He's unpredictable lines like "This pork rib is so delicious," "This meatball smells so good," and "This fish smells so good," it's no less than an extremely cruel torture.

Five minutes later, Qian Lizhen suddenly stood up. She wanted to go back to the kitchen to get a bowl and eat some more at the table. However, as soon as she stood up, He Jing noticed her and turned to ask with concern, "Auntie, are you going out to digest your food?"

When Qian Lizhen met her eyes, which held a hint of mockery, she felt as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over her head. It took her a long time before she trembled and managed to say, "Yes."

My heart is bleeding.
