The servant paused for a second before speaking again: "Okay, please wait a moment."
Then, there was no further movement from that side.
He Yi stood at the door waiting, picking up the gift again. After a while, Cheng Yi came out of the villa with a pale face and lifeless eyes. Seeing He Yi, she said somewhat awkwardly, "Fifth Brother, what brings you here?"
He Yi handed over the gift and said, "Xiao Yi, happy birthday."
Cheng Yi's gaze fell on the gift, but she didn't seem happy at all. She was stunned for a moment, and then forced a smile: "Thank you, Fifth Brother."
Seeing that her expression was off, He Yi asked with concern, "Xiao Yi, what's wrong? Did something happen?"

Cheng Yi carried the gifts and hurried back.
He Yi saw Cheng Yi standing in front of a noblewoman through the iron gate, and the two were talking about something.
Then, he looked down at his shoes. The surface of the shoes was dirty and black, and there were traces of glue coming undone on the edges.
He smiled, a smile that was both helpless and heartbreaking, and then turned and left.
