Chapter 511 Daily Life

He Jing was the first to come out of the room. Seeing the sumptuous breakfast, she sweetly called out, "Mom, good morning."

When Mrs. He turned around, she was about to call out "Xiao Yi" when she saw He Jing's face. She then remembered that Cheng Yi was no longer her daughter, so she naturally changed her address to "Good morning, Jing Jing".

He Jing didn't notice her mother's unease. She gently walked over and used a cloth to wrap both sides of the scalding hot porridge in the pot before carrying it out.

As she picked up the bowl and chopsticks, Mother He walked over and asked, "Jingjing, are you doing well at home? Are your brothers taking good care of you?"

He Jing looked up and smiled, her eyes crinkling: "They are all super nice."

Mother He then secretly breathed a sigh of relief and revealed a slight smile.

Having been away on business for so long, she felt somewhat indebted to He Jing.

Fortunately, He Jing didn't seem to mind, which comforted her somewhat. She would have to make it up to her biological daughter, who hadn't received much maternal love from her, in the future.

Soon, He Ning and He Sui also woke up. When they came out of the room, they had already washed up. The whole family sat around the dining table, drinking the porridge made by He's mother, and couldn't help but feel a long-lost warmth.

Mr. He said, "We've been away on business for so long, and the company has given us two days off, which is rare. Your parents will stay home and spend these two days with you."

He Ning looked up at his father, then remained silent.

He Sui muttered, "It's okay, you don't need to. You two rarely get a holiday, so you can go and enjoy your time together."

When Mr. and Mrs. He first got married, they were very romantic people. Even when life was tough, they would often take a walk hand in hand at sunset, give each other a bouquet of flowers, or go to the movies together on their wedding anniversary.

But that was a long time ago. After having more children, they were no longer able to maintain that refined lifestyle. They devoted themselves to making money every day and hadn't really seen each other properly in a long time.

He Sui used to want them to spend time with her whenever they had free time, to feel their care during those rare moments of leisure, but now that He Jing is here, it seems that it doesn't matter whether they are with her or not.

He Yuan said, "I booked a romantic restaurant and the nearest movie theater for my parents. They can go see it when they have time. I have to go to the company today, and Jingjing and the others have to go to school, so I can't stay home with you."

Mother He was taken aback. She looked at the handsome He Yuan and suddenly her eyes welled up with tears. She felt a sense of relief that "the days are finally coming to an end."

Father He sighed, then smiled and said, "Alright, we'll go over at noon and come back in the evening to cook for you."

He Yuan smiled and said, "Okay."

The atmosphere was very warm and harmonious.

Everyone was happy, except for He Zhou.

He Zhou didn't seem to like this rare warmth of family affection. After finishing his porridge, he put down his chopsticks and said coldly, "He Jing, hurry up and eat. After you finish, come with me to deliver Xiao Guo."

He Xiaoguo perked up, her big, watery eyes filled with surprise.

He Yi turned his head to look over, his expression somewhat puzzled.

He Jing's school is a world apart from He Xiaoguo's school, so such a request is really unreasonable.

He Chen seemed to have figured something out, and slowly advised with a smile: "He Jing, go ahead. I rarely ask anyone for anything."

He Jing smiled and was quite indulgent: "Okay."

Only He Sui complained: "What kind of request is this? This is clearly a command!"

After saying that, he glared at He Zhou: "Can't you speak to He Jing a little more gently?"

He Zhou ignored him, stood up from the table and left. Seeing this, He Jing quickly finished her porridge, went back to her room and picked up her schoolbag.
