Chapter 548 No Next Time

He Jing was both at a loss and furious. Who was shy? She was clearly angry!

He even wanted to do something even more outrageous; he's really pushing his luck and needs to be taught a lesson!

He Jing slammed Yan Hanxi against the car body, her eyes narrowed as she gave a cold, sneer: "You seem pretty smug, little brat?"

Yan Hanxi raised an eyebrow at the woman in front of him, who was petite yet exuded a powerful aura. He lowered his head, his eyes smiling, and said, "Yes, so how does sister plan to punish me?"

He Jing choked, then turned and left, leaving him behind.

What a brazen fool!

I must beat him up if I get the chance.

He Jing thought so.

Then, Yan Hanxi hugged her from behind, and said in his dog-like voice in her ear, "You were the one who laughed at me first. I know I was wrong. I didn't mean to kiss you on purpose."

"So it's my fault after all?" He Jing slapped the hand that was wrapped around her waist. "Take your hands off me!"

"No," Yan Hanxi whispered further, trying to entice her. "Sister, let me take you home, okay?"

He Jing was suddenly at a loss, staring blankly at the air. After a while, she turned around and faced Yan Hanxi directly. The little bastard looked rather pitiful.

"Don't do it again next time."

"OK".

They'll do it again next time.

So, He Jing broke free from Yan Hanxi's embrace and got into the Yan family's car.

Yan Hanxi looked at his hands, lingering on the soft touch of his palms when he was holding He Jing, and quickly came to his senses, striding forward to open the car door for He Jing.

He Jing sat in the back seat, while Yan Hanxi consciously sat in the passenger seat, giving He Jing some space to calm down.

He Jing's face slowly flushed in the darkness. She looked at the streetlights and trees rushing past the window and cursed in her heart, "You bastard!"

Yan Hanxi escorted He Jing to the apartment building. There was someone waiting by the streetlight downstairs. Who else could it be but He Ning with such a tall figure and outstanding features?

He Jing got out of the car and called out, "Second Brother."

He Ning looked over at her, and when he saw Yan Hanxi getting out of the front seat of the car, he was stunned for a moment. Then he strode over and pulled He Jing over.

Why are you so late coming back?

He got out of school around 10 p.m. and everyone was asleep when he got home, but He Jing hadn't come back yet.

I asked other people and they said that He Jing had called back to report what kind of social practice activity she was going to do after school.

But it was too late, and she was still with Yan Hanxi.

He Jing said, "I'm going to do my homework. Second brother, aren't you cold staying here?"

"It's not cold," He Ning said. "Come upstairs with me."

He Jing glanced at Yan Hanxi, who smiled and said, "Go on up, see you tomorrow."

He Jing then followed He Ning into the residential area. Yan Hanxi stood there for a while until they were out of sight before getting into the car and leaving.

As He Jing and He Ning walked past the streetlights, she touched He Ning's hand and found it to be ice-cold. He Ning was only wearing a sweatshirt.

It's October now, and even though it's hot, the temperature at night is only around 10 degrees Celsius.

"Next time it's this late, Second Brother, don't wait for me."

Everyone else didn't wait, so why did he stupidly run down?

He Ning paused, looked at her seriously, and said, "The gate of the community is so far from our home. I'm afraid you're afraid of the dark."

His pupils appeared even deeper under the white light, and his cool gaze could easily give one the illusion of being enveloped by his eyes.

He Jing was momentarily stunned by his handsome appearance, then heard him say, "I called Xiaoyi, and she promised me she wouldn't meddle in other people's business anymore. The advertisement on the bus stop billboard has already been taken down."

He Jing: "...Uh, did she really do it?"

He Ning: "Mm."

After a brief explanation, He Ning showed no intention of continuing, instead saying, "Are you hungry? Come upstairs and I'll make you some noodles."
