Thinking back to what had just been said, Shi Xi could roughly recall the plot of the novel.
The gist of the story is that Ning Yu went out to buy a dress and encountered a "cannon fodder" woman. The "cannon fodder" woman mocked Ning Yu for being from the countryside, ignorant, and penniless.
Then Ning Yu slapped him in the face.

She tried to pretend she hadn't heard, but the cannon fodder woman had already taken a few steps forward and pulled her inside from outside the store.
"Shi Xi, what do you think of this dress?" the cannon fodder woman said happily. "The Shi family is holding a banquet in a few days. If you wear this dress, you will definitely stun everyone!"
Shi Xi looked over in the direction she pointed. The snow-white dress was adorned with tiny rhinestones, and the chest was covered with layers of white tulle, making it very stylish.
