Chapter 164 Murder and Arson Cheng Muyun 2

The last few words were spoken very softly, yet they were like icicles piercing the air, instantly freezing everything around them.

Chen Hede's heart tightened, and he gripped Cheng Muyun's handcuffed wrist tightly, his knuckles turning white from the force. His voice was filled with barely suppressed urgency: "Are you really going to do this? Xu Zhuohua, she..."

Before he could finish speaking, Cheng Muyun's eyes suddenly turned red. The redness spread from the bottom of his eyes, like agate soaked in blood, instantly stripping away all calmness and leaving only a beastly ferocity and pain.

"Of course Zhuohua wouldn't want me to be like this," his voice was hoarse as if it had been sanded, each word sharp and broken, "but she's gone. I don't want to pull myself together, and there's no need for me to. Don't try to persuade me, it's useless."

Cheng Muyun completely lost the will to save himself. He only wanted to quickly verify the future that Xu Zhuohua had mentioned, to become a serial killer, and to remove all obstacles for Xiao Wuxin and Chen Hede.

Then they joyfully went to their own deaths.

If hell truly exists, he would gladly go there, just to catch one last glimpse of the one he deeply loves on his journey to the underworld.

Chen Hede felt as if something was blocking his throat; the words "Xu Zhuohua is still alive" were swirling on his tongue, but he couldn't utter them.

Looking at the lifeless ashes in Cheng Muyun's eyes, he felt as if his heart was being cut by a knife.

On one hand, there's a secret that can't be told, fearing that Xu Zhuohua's hiding place will be exposed, putting her in danger again.

On one side is this self-destructive man, watching helplessly as he jumps into the abyss, unable to pull him back.

Cheng Muyun said something like "Those who walk different paths cannot make plans together," but only Chen Hede knew that this man had always been his role model.

He knew better than anyone the sincerity that outsiders couldn't see, and the patriotism hidden behind the ruthlessness.

Cheng Muyun loves this country more deeply than anyone else, and is even willing to crush his own reputation and pave the way in the most despicable way.

This resoluteness, this courage to risk even oneself, is something Chen Hede wanted to do but never had the courage to do.

He gazed at Cheng Muyun's face, flickering in and out of the firelight, and felt a tightness in his chest. All the words he wanted to say were reduced to a silent sigh, dissipating into the blood-scented air.
