Chapter 59 A Day Trip to the Prison

Xu Zhuohua has added another chapter to her life experience: imprisonment.

Like many students and workers arrested during protests, Xu Zhuohua was imprisoned.

The police thoughtfully separated the people, all wearing the same school uniform, and locked them in the same cell.

The largest group was from Zhen Dan, with men and women all crammed together, so crowded that there wasn't even a place to stand. Xu Zhuohua finally found a corner to sit in and listened to them still chanting slogans.

These people seem to never get tired, their noise giving Xu Zhuohua a headache. "Hey, stop shouting, save your energy, they definitely won't give us any food."

Someone immediately retorted, "How much longer do they dare to detain us? Arresting people without any reason is nothing short of tyranny! We want to overthrow this corrupt government!"

Xu Zhuohua was speechless. "You're all trying to overthrow them, and they can't arrest you? And if they arrest you, will they release you?"

The man hadn't expected this either, and was visibly taken aback. Then he stubbornly retorted, "Why are you siding with them? Weren't you arrested too?"

Xu Zhuohua rolled her eyes at him. "Why was I arrested? Wasn't it because I was loud? I even got hit on the head and got hurt! Why did you send me away?"

Immediately, someone spoke up for Xu Zhuohua, "That's right, she was the one who shouted the loudest and was beaten the worst; her head was bleeding."

The female student next to Xu Zhuohua checked her wound. "Fortunately, the wound wasn't deep, and it's stopped bleeding now."

“Yes, I’m injured.” Xu Zhuohua leaned back and said sadly, “I’m so miserable.”

"To be injured for the sake of the nation's future is not considered an injury!"

These people have boundless energy. With just a few simple words, their enthusiasm was reignited, and they started chanting slogans again.

Xu Zhuohua had a terrible headache; it felt like she was being yelled at by hundreds of loudspeakers.

I don't know if it was from these people shouting or from being hit, but my head is throbbing.

Xu Zhuohua thought that if someone could come and gag these students, she would kowtow to that person.

That person appeared.

The officer tapped on the iron fence with his baton. "Shut up, all of you!"

Chen Hede walked out from behind a group of police officers, half proud and half relaxed, with a cool smile on his aloof face.

"Deputy Director Chen, we've caught these people."

Chen Hede nodded slightly, and the entire cell fell silent.

His aloof demeanor was so overwhelming, and his face was equally cold, that the still-naive students and the ignorant workers were all stunned.

Without the noise, Xu Zhuohua felt alive again. She raised her head from her arms and saw her "old acquaintance" Chen Hede, and was completely shocked.

He was destined to die, but he ended up in Chen Hede's hands again.

Chen Hede walked up to Xu Zhuohua's cell and saw Xu Zhuohua at a glance, a hint of surprise flashing across his face.

Then he raised his long, slender index finger. "Who hit this?"

Yes, he was referring to Xu Zhuohua.

All eyes were on Xu Zhuohua, who immediately raised his hand to cover the sticky bloodstains on his face, looking like a monkey in a zoo.

One bold student said, "Who else could it be? It's one of your people! They even beat women, and beat them so badly."

"Exactly! He's so skinny, he'd almost kill someone!"

The passion was reignited, and these people began to denounce the brutality of police officers and soldiers.

Ding ding ding—

The police officer banged on the iron fence with his baton and shouted, "Shut up! Do you want to get out of here?!"

Xu Zhuohua buried her head in her knees, annoyed to no end!

Chen Hede looked at the noisy cell, his gaze falling on the small, huddled figure. He said nothing, turned and left the cell.

The noise subsided only after the people had tired themselves out. Occasionally, a few whispers would emanate from the room. Xu Zhuohua had unconsciously grown accustomed to the commotion and even took a short nap while lying down.

Until a familiar voice rang out.

Where is Zhuohua?

It was Cheng Muyun's voice, cold and angry.

Xu Zhuohua looked up and saw Chen Hede and Cheng Muyun standing at the cell door.

Chen Hede's leisurely demeanor contrasts sharply with Cheng Muyun's anger.

"Where?" Chen Hede pointed to Xu Zhuohua.

The moment Cheng Muyun saw the blood on Xu Zhuohua's face, his eyes flashed with fury. He grabbed Chen Hede by the collar and roared, "How dare you hurt her?"

Chen Hede let Cheng Muyun grab his collar, raised his hand to dismiss the police officers, and said nonchalantly, "I wouldn't dare. Doesn't Young Marshal Cheng know what crimes they committed? What orders were given from above? I've already done my best to keep these people alive."

Cheng Muyun released Chen Hede and looked at the cell door lock with displeasure. "Open the door."

Chen Hede calmly straightened his collar and said, "Consider this my way of making amends to Young Marshal Cheng."

Cheng Muyun nodded, suppressing his anger. Chen Hede took out the key and opened the cell door.

"Come out." Cheng Muyun's voice was cold and fierce.

The people in the cell were all staring at the two of them, not knowing who they were calling out to.

Xu Zhuohua turned her head away; she didn't want to leave.

It's not that I like prison cells, but rather the conversation between the two of them just now.

This suggests that Chen Hede was under pressure to imprison these students and workers, and the higher-ups' intention was likely to execute them without exception.

This march will last a long time, and as more and more people crowd in, things will get out of control, and a tragedy will occur, bringing the event to a climax.

It ultimately ended with the president's abdication.

Cheng Muyun didn't have much patience. He strode into the cell and pulled Xu Zhuohua up abruptly.
