No older brother could stand by and watch his own sister being persecuted and pretend to know nothing.
Cheng Muyun is the kind of person who would go to any lengths for Cheng Wenyun.
Xu Zhuohua was very afraid of what he might do.
Therefore, on the second day of their marriage, the couple came to Cheng Wenyun's room with heavy expressions.
Cheng Wenyun seemed very afraid that someone would break in, so she locked the door three times, inside and out. The two waited outside the door for a while before it was finally opened.
Cheng Muyun was held back by Xu Zhuohua to prevent him from acting impulsively.
Seeing the two so affectionate, Cheng Wenyun couldn't help but smile.
"Second brother, second sister-in-law, is there something you need?"
Cheng Muyun pushed open the door and pulled Xu Zhuohua inside.
Xu Zhuohua quickly said, "Your brother drank too much yesterday, and he wants to come and apologize to you."
Cheng Wenyun poured tea for the two of them with trepidation, saying, "I'm fine."
Cheng Muyun was an impatient person, and without even an opening, he asked directly, "Wenyun, does it have to be Liang Shaozun?"
Cheng Wenyun thought Cheng Muyun was disagreeing, so she stood up and said, "Second brother, you still don't agree? We grew up with Brother Shaozun, don't you know him?"
Upon hearing this, Cheng Muyun frowned. "To tell you the truth..."
He wanted to reveal the truth that Liang Shaozun was dead, but Xu Zhuohua immediately reached out and covered his mouth.
Xu Zhuohua shook her head at him.
Cheng Muyun, however, had made up his mind and pulled Xu Zhuohua's hand away: "No, we have to tell her now."
Xu Zhuohua said, "That's not the point, okay?"
"So what's the key point?"
Xu Zhuohua frowned, the key question being whether Cheng Wenyun had actually been violated.
But it seems that Cheng Muyun didn't understand at all last night, or he didn't listen at all; his mind was entirely on Xu Zhuohua.
“Sigh,” Xu Zhuohua sighed, “I’ll ask.”
Cheng Wenjun listened to the conversation between the two, completely bewildered.
Faced with Cheng Wenyun, who was as innocent as a fawn, Xu Zhuohua felt a pang of pity, but there was nothing she could do.
"Wenjun, has Grandpa ever held you?"
Cheng Wenyun nodded.
Cheng Muyun looked up in confusion.
"Has he ever held your hand?"
Cheng Wenyun nodded.
Cheng Muyun's eyes showed even greater doubt.
Have you ever slept together?
Cheng Wenyun nodded.
Cheng Muyun clenched his fists, trying to stand up, but Xu Zhuohua hugged him and gave him a light kiss on the lips.
"Have I ever kissed you like this?"
Cheng Wenyun nodded.
Cheng Muyun suddenly stood up and slammed his hand on the table. Xu Zhuohua quickly hugged him.
Cheng Wenyun was startled. "I didn't seduce Grandpa on purpose, and I didn't want to do this, but Grandpa said that if I didn't stay with him, he would kick me out of the old house and my parents would abandon me."
Cheng Muyun was trembling.
His hands, hanging by his sides, were clenched into fists so tightly that his knuckles were almost transparent. His jaw was taut like a stone sculpture, and the veins on his neck were bulging. His chest trembled violently with each rise and fall of his chest.
Xu Zhuohua sensed that the man in front of her had never been so angry.
"Cheng Muyun, don't be impulsive, Cheng Muyun."
Cheng Wenyun was terrified. She hugged herself tightly, and tears streamed down her face.
Madam Cheng also asked her these questions, and Madam Cheng's reaction was exactly the same as Cheng Muyun's.
"I'm sorry, it's all my fault. Nobody likes me, nobody wants me. I didn't mean to."
Seeing Cheng Wenyun crying, Cheng Muyun regained a little of his composure. His body, which had been taut like a string, gradually relaxed. He raised his hand and gently patted Xu Zhuohua's back.
He gestured for her to let go of his embrace.
Xu Zhuohua did as instructed.
Cheng Muyun walked up to Cheng Wenyun, tears welling in his eyes, and hugged her.
"I'm sorry, it's my fault, it's my fault. I like you, I want you. You're not an unwanted child, you're my baby."
Cheng Wenyun cried even louder.
She hid in Cheng Muyun's arms, crying so hard her body was convulsing.
"Second brother, second brother..."
Cheng Muyun's heart was breaking. Cheng Wenyun was the apple of her family's eye. They had left her in the old house because they were afraid that Dongzhou was too hard, but they never expected that they would push her into a fire pit with their own hands.
"I'm sorry, Wenjun, it's all my second brother's fault."
Xu Zhuohua couldn't help but shed tears.
Cheng Wenyun should be the happiest young lady, with loving parents, two older brothers, and the love and affection of everyone.
but……
She was heartbroken enough as an observer, let alone her own mother, Madam Cheng, and her own brother, Cheng Muyun.
Perhaps failing to protect his younger sister will remain a permanent wound in his heart.
After the two had cried themselves out and hugged each other enough, Xu Zhuohua thoughtfully handed them a handkerchief.
They comforted each of them individually.
"Sit down first. This matter needs further consideration."
Cheng Muyun had never been like this before; she couldn't be coaxed no matter what, and she cried even harder than Cheng Wenyun.
"Cheng Muyun, that's enough."
The man hugged Xu Zhuohua's waist tightly and gradually stopped crying.
Cheng Wenyun probably didn't realize anything yet, and no one taught her these things. Madam Cheng, in order to protect her, probably didn't say a word.
"Ta-da!"
There was a knock at the door, and Cheng Wenyun answered, "Who is it?"
Uncle Li's voice came: "Miss, the master has sent someone to pick you up."
Cheng Wenyun suddenly flinched, her expression becoming tense.
Cheng Muyun responded loudly, "Uncle Li, Wenjun isn't going back. Tell the people at the old house to leave!"
Uncle Li hesitated for a moment, then agreed.
Cheng Wenyun, however, was uneasy. "I'd better go back, otherwise Grandpa will be angry."
