Shen Cheng smiled silently.
His empty eyes and endless silence made everyone feel suffocated.
"So, what Mother said is true."
After a long pause, he spoke again: "I just want to know where my biological mother's body is buried."
Chen: "It's right behind... behind the mountain."
With bloodshot eyes, Shen Cheng slowly walked forward step by step, his legs feeling as heavy as if they were boulder crashing to the ground.
Old Man Shen shouted, "Chen Cheng, what do you think you're doing? She's your mother!"
Shen Cheng didn't hear what he was saying; he only saw his mouth opening and closing as he pushed away the man he had called "father" for almost forty years and grabbed the man who killed his mother.
Chen was trembling with fear, her neck was being choked so hard she couldn't breathe, and she struggled with her legs to try to shout "Help!" but she couldn't utter a single word.
Just as she was about to suffocate, Shen Cheng let go.
Suddenly exposed to fresh air, Chen sat on the ground, breathing heavily, feeling as if she had just come back to life after drowning, and cried out loudly.
Shen Danru sighed inwardly; her father still couldn't bring himself to be ruthless.
Old Man Shen roared, "You unfilial son, what a disgrace to our family! What a disgrace to our family!"
The clan chief also noticed that Shen Cheng was acting strangely. What a good child he was, tormented by the Chen family like this.
“Child, the Shen family has wronged you. I apologize on behalf of your parents. It’s good that you’re awake. Take good care of yourself, and we can discuss the rest later. An’er, Yan’er, quickly help your father back to his room to rest.”
Shen Yu'an did not move.
Shen Yuyan didn't move either.

Shen Cheng got up and stumbled out of the Shen family gate like a walking corpse. The villagers made way for him, and Shen Yu'an and Shen Yu'yan quickly caught up with him and helped him up.
Shen Danru returned to the room and called out to Zhou Shi: "Mother, quick, Father is awake, let's go."
Previously, Shen Danru was afraid that Chen would make things difficult for Zhou, so she instructed Zhou not to let her go out. She had not dared to go out and was unaware of what was happening outside.
"Where are we going? Why isn't your dad coming back inside?"
