A flash of anger crossed Xu's eyes. She hadn't expected that Shen Danru, a junior, would dare to talk back to her like that.

When Zhou saw Xu staring at her, she shrank back in fright.
Thinking back to her arrival, Ru'er had already clashed with the elders of the Duke's mansion. She blamed Shen Danru for being too impulsive and even implicating Yulan.
Poor Yulan is pregnant, what should we do?
Thinking of this, she said to Shen Danru, "Ru'er, you've gone too far. How can you talk to your elders like that? She's your second grandmother. Why don't you kowtow and apologize?"

Xu stood there, her face ashen, and glared at Zhou. Zhou lowered her head, not daring to breathe.
Knowing that she had Shen Xiaohua by her side made me feel much better.
Neither of her two daughters cares about her mother at all; Xiao Hua is much more considerate of her.
It was a complete waste of money raising them.
Madam Xu was secretly furious that a junior dared to contradict her to her face. This had never happened before, so how could she swallow this insult?
