Chapter 18, Section 18: They said they were here to pick up the young master.
Lin Zhao originally thought it was just a meal at the Lin family's house.
But when Lin Zhao drove to the Lin family home, he couldn't help but feel a little nervous.
This was the first time he had returned to the Lin family since leaving.
This time, his identity is no longer that of the youngest son of the Lin family.
He was a guest.
Lin Zhao thought it would take her a long time to enter the Lin family.
But when he rang the Lin family's doorbell, the door opened the next second, and Lin's father and mother were standing there waiting for him, just like when he came home.
In that instant, Lin Zhao's eyes turned red.
Lin Rong and Lin Xian stood behind the two men. They were about the same height, looked about 70% alike, and had similar demeanors when standing together.
It was as if Lin Zhao had never left the Lin family; everything at home remained as usual.
Lin's parents spoke with concern, and Lin Rong handed Lin Zhao the fruit in his hand.
Even Lin Xian reached out and handed milk to Lin Zhao.
Nothing in the house has changed.
He even gained a family member who loves him.
Lin Zhao has been living well at the Fu family's house recently, and her cheeks have gotten a little fuller.
"You're feeding your little brother so much fruit and snacks, he won't eat his meals properly later." Lin's mother said helplessly, patting Lin Xian's hand.
His tone was relaxed.
Upon hearing this, Lin's father frowned in disapproval: "If the child likes to eat it, then let the child eat it."
"Then you shouldn't eat, get out," Lin's mother said with a cold snort.
Lin's father dared not speak.
If I say anything more, I'll have to go back to the company to sleep tonight.
Tomorrow morning's headline will be: Shocking! Mr. Lin was kicked out of his home in the middle of the night!
Lin Rong's palm landed on Lin Zhao's head, and soft strands of hair peeked out from Lin Rong's fingertips.
It's sticking up and down.
Lin Xian sat next to Lin Zhao, listening to the conversation.
Lin Xian's life was actually much better after he returned home than before.
Although Lin's mother would occasionally talk about Lin Zhao, her concern for Lin Xian was genuine.
When Lin Xian got home, he felt that Lin Zhao was an extremely difficult person to deal with.
It's probably because the people he's met haven't been good people. When they see profit, they want nothing more than to trample Lin Xian to death.
Most of the people Lin Zhao and Lin Xian encountered were different.
Once the food was on the table, it was piled up like a small mountain in front of Lin Zhao.
Lin Rong continued to serve food to Lin Zhao whenever she could.
Of course, he also remembered Lin Zhao's words and served Lin Xian his favorite dishes.
"You guys eat more, you're all getting thin."
Lin Rong spoke with concern, looking at Lin Xian and Lin Zhao with a hint of advice: "Don't be like everyone else, thinking about losing weight every day."
Lin Zhao only watched as Lin Rong's smile created two small mountains.
Lin Zhao looked pleadingly at Lin Xian beside him, who was stronger than him and had the right to speak.
But he only noticed that Lin Xian's bowl was about the same size as his own, yet he didn't say a word and just ate silently.
Lin Zhao then realized that Lin Xian probably had a bigger appetite than herself.
Lin Zhao blinked, looked at Lin Rong ingratiatingly, and quickly picked up her bowl: "That's enough, really enough!"
Without a younger brother to compare him to, Lin Rong thought Lin Zhao was alright.
Compared to Lin Xian, Lin Zhao appears even more delicate.
Lin Rong glanced disapprovingly at Lin Zhao, and only stopped eating when he saw the grievance in Lin Zhao's eyes.
Lin Zhao hadn't come back for dinner in a long time, and Lin Rong realized that he was indeed getting a little impatient.
"Zhaozhao, shall we move back home from the Fu family's place?"
Lin Rong said it casually, but in reality, his eyes were fixed on Lin Zhao.
Lin Zhao showed no discomfort on his face, only his fingertips paused slightly.
Lin's parents looked at Lin Zhao, waiting for her answer.
"No need, it's convenient for me to go to work now, and I'm already Brother Fu's 24-hour personal assistant, it's inconvenient to go home."
Lin Zhao spoke softly.
The Lin family lives quite far from the Fu Group.
It's inconvenient to go back and forth, and if something happens to Fu Yansheng, I won't be able to get there in time.
"How much is the termination fee?" Lin Rong frowned and asked directly, "I'll pay it for you."
In Lin Rong's eyes, the Fu family was a den of dragons and tigers, a place that Lin Zhao should never go to.
Lin's parents didn't say anything, tacitly agreeing with Lin Rong's idea, even though Fu Yansheng and Lin Zhao were good friends.
However, one cannot live at the Fu family's residence all the time; the Fu family is too treacherous.
Fu Yansheng is a cunning old fox in the business world, skilled at manipulating people. He was quite shrewd when he ousted the old guard from the Fu Group back then.
Although he seems to have a good relationship with Lin Zhao now, he still has to be wary of her.
Lin Zhao sighed silently upon hearing this.
He said with a hint of helplessness, "Brother, you're just prejudiced against Brother Fu. It's just that Brother Fu stole two candies from you when you were little, and you still remember it now."
Lin Rong snorted coldly upon hearing this.
"That's not why!"
Lin Zhao shrugged, looking like she meant it, but then turned to Lin Xian and said, "My older brother said back in junior high that he would remember Brother Fu for the rest of his life because of the candy incident."
Lin Zhao was complaining to Lin Xian, and even moved closer to sit down next to Lin Xian.
Lin Rong wanted to say that he really wasn't.
But then Lin's mother spoke softly: "Back when President Fu first came to the villa area, Zhao Zhao would hang around in front of people's houses every day, saying she wanted to make friends with the handsome young men. When other children asked Zhao Zhao to play, she wouldn't agree."
At that time, Lin Zhao was stubborn and refused to play with other children.
Sometimes, even when it was time to eat, Lin Rong would carry Lin Zhao home after school.
Lin Xian laughed when he heard this.
I can already picture a little dumpling sitting at someone's doorstep, eagerly waiting for them to come out and play with them.
Robber-like friendships.
"By the way, Xiaoxian, your dad and I have discussed sending you to business school so you can study finance in your spare time. Once you graduate, we'll give you a job to practice at a company."
Lin Rong thought about what he had discussed with his father that day and asked Lin Xian about it.
Lin Xian hummed in response, without refusing.
Lin Xian has been struggling to learn from the project team at the company these past two days. He has never been exposed to these things before, and he is not very clear about many terms and rules.
Sometimes, even if others can understand it immediately, he needs to spend more time and effort to fully comprehend its meaning.
But Lin Xian has a lot of contact with people and understands better how to maintain social relationships.
He also has a good grasp of the customer's psychology.
The project team also emphasized this point when reporting to Lin Rong.
That's why Lin Rong wanted Lin Xian to study at a business school.
Lin Xian is a very ambitious person. From the moment he returned to the Lin family, Lin Rong saw through Lin Xian's ambition.
However, Lin Rong failed to shatter Lin Xian's ambition.
He felt comfortable letting Lin Xian join the company and start learning about it. Since Lin Xian was ambitious, his family was also willing to support him.
He wouldn't stop him; instead, he would let Lin Xian learn how to fulfill his ambitions.
"Thank you, Dad. Thank you, brother."
Lin Xian thanked him softly.
Lin's father waved his hand: "If there's anything you don't understand, ask your brother. You brothers should support each other."
Lin Xian nodded upon hearing this, while Lin Rong remained silent.
They simply focused their attention on Lin Zhao.
Lin Zhao, who was the only one present who did not plan to study at a business school, and whose major was not even finance, simply smiled.
Lin Zhao was perfectly clear about her own position: she was just a lazy bum.
After finishing their meal, Lin Zhao had just sat down on the sofa when Lin Xian took out the desserts he had prepared earlier and placed them in front of Lin Zhao.
Seeing this, Lin's mother's eyes were filled with joy, and she softly spoke to Lin Zhao:
"Xiao Xian came back from the company this afternoon and started preparing. She just doesn't know exactly when Zhao Zhao was born, otherwise she would know who the older brother and who the younger brother are."
Upon hearing this, Lin Xian straightened his back involuntarily.
Lin Xian was already a bit taller than Lin Zhao, so with this movement, from a distance, Lin Xian looked more like the older brother.
Lin Zhao became interested upon hearing this.
His eyes sparkled as he looked at the group, as if to tell them that he was more like the older brother.
Lin Ronggang had just finished dealing with the messages on his phone when he heard his mother say, "Xiao Xian looks more like the older brother; Zhao Zhao is a little shorter than Xiao Xian."
Upon hearing this, Lin Zhao turned to look at Lin Rong with some disbelief.
He glanced at Lin Xian, then at himself.
"Why can't I be the older brother?"
So what if I'm a little shorter?
Did you break the law?
Lin Zhao's eyes widened in disbelief.
Seeing that the person was about to be coaxed away, Lin Rong quickly apologized.
"I did not mean that."
"Oh, so what do you mean?" Lin Zhao asked coldly.
He hummed in response.
Lin Xian sat down next to Lin Zhao and nodded obediently: "That's right."
Lin Rong almost laughed out of anger.
That's a very good point.
Now it's his fault?
Lin Rong became withdrawn and didn't want to talk.
Seeing that it was getting dark outside, Lin Xian sat down next to him and said, "It's all dark outside. It's not safe for you to go back alone. Why don't you stay at home?"
Lin's mother was surprised that Lin Xian would take the initiative to speak.
He looked at Lin Zhao with some excitement, waiting for Lin Zhao's answer.
Lin Zhao hesitated, frowning as she hadn't yet figured out how to refuse.
Then the butler rushed in.
"Sir, Madam, Mr. Fu is at the door."
The butler glanced at Lin Zhao, hesitated for a moment, then took a deep breath and spoke up: "They said they've come to pick up the young master."
Lin Rong almost laughed out of anger when he heard this.
What?
Why would Fu Yansheng be worried about Zhao Zhao going back to her own home?
Are you coming to pick me up again?
Is Lin Zhao a child of the Lin family or the Fu family?
I've never seen Fu Yansheng care so much about the children of the Fu family!
Upon hearing the butler's words, Lin Zhao's previously hesitant expression relaxed.
"Now that Brother Fu is here, I'll go back with him!"
This way, Mr. and Mrs. Lin won't have to worry.
Lin Rong frowned and remained silent.
Having said that, Lin's parents had no reason to refuse. They stood up and saw Lin Zhao to the door, saying, "Zhao Zhao..."
Lin Zhao smiled at the group and said, "I'll come back for dinner in a few days when I have some free time."
Lin Xian stood behind Lin Zhao without saying a word, his gaze fixed on the tall, imposing man outside.
The man, dressed in a suit, looked at him with a cold and indifferent gaze, as if he were looking at someone insignificant.
With just one glance, Lin Xian sensed that this man was not as aloof as he appeared. Beneath that cold gaze lay the ambition and ruthlessness of a wolf.
Lin Xian had seen many people like this in the club where they worked.
But the man in front of me was better at hiding his true nature than anyone else.
Lin Zhao jogged toward the man, who quickly took two steps forward and reached out to support her.
Lin Xian watched as Lin Zhao smiled at the man.
He frowned and asked in a low voice, "Who is he?"
Lin Rong glanced at Lin Xian in surprise, seemingly not expecting Lin Xian to ask such a question.
He frowned and said in a deep voice:
"The current head of the Fu family is Fu Yansheng."

-Today's Mini-Theater:
Lin Zhao (indignantly): I think I'm the older brother! I think I was born a tiny bit earlier! I'm older than Lin Xian! ovo [cat paw emoji]
Lin Xian silently straightened his back, without saying a word. [Let me see]
Lin Rong, observing the height difference between her two younger brothers (honestly and truthfully): I think Xiao Xian is... [eating popcorn emoji]
Lin Zhao gave him a sharp look and then grinned [question mark].
Fu Yansheng: Brother, no offense, but this is really wrong of you. [covers face and peeks]
Lin Rong, overjoyed to have a third brother: ??? [Angry]
