Chapter 152 The Final Battle II
Shinjuku, of course, did not miss the anger surging in Yilian's eyes. He responded with a flippant smile, but the smile did not reach his eyes, because he could not be happy. He wanted far more than that; he wanted Yilian dead!
"Despicable! You dare to launch a sneak attack with ghosts!! True Lord Yilian, we are here to help you!" Although they resented True Lord, their previous attack had made them realize that even the demon they had subdued together was not someone to be trifled with easily.
Their previously settled hearts began to waver, and they dared not gamble that True Lord Lian could be absolutely certain of victory.
However, as expected, Lian Guo politely declined their request, saying, "Please do not get involved. It is far too dangerous. This is an unavoidable battle between him and me."
Shinjuku could sense the change in the other party's aura, and the hairs on his body stood on end. He thought to himself that they were about to get serious.
Yi Lian's move was swift and decisive. With a single strike, the world changed color. Before anyone could react, his figure vanished in full view of everyone.
But the next instant, the surging currents, air waves, vibrations, whirlwinds, and yin energy that erupted everywhere made them realize that Suspicious Lotus had not disappeared, but rather that she was moving too fast and attacking too fast, making it difficult for them to catch any trace of her even with their Purple Mansion activated.
That's amazing.
Shinjuku was also shocked to see that the person he hated most had the same strength as him in his proudest field! This was even more disheartening and unbelievable than the previous situation where he could not get close to the other party.
When...when did this person cultivate martial arts to such a level?! Such skill truly surpasses even his own...
Yi Lian appeared calm on the surface, but upon seeing Shinju's expression, she was so delighted that she almost clapped her hands and laughed out loud. She even wanted to drink under the tree to liven things up, as only then could she do justice to this despairingly beautiful scene.
Destroying a person's mind often doesn't involve absolute suppression, but rather hitting the bullseye and defeating them in their area of expertise.
Because of her confidence, Yi Lian moved more and more freely, while because of her anxiety, Zhen Su's movements became more and more chaotic.
The opponent unleashed a move from the Ultimate Martial Arts, and Zhen Su, out of insistence, refused to let Lou Lan emerge. This was a duel between practitioners of the Ultimate Martial Arts, and Zhen Su's eyes burned with fierce fighting spirit; he clearly intended to fight to the death with his opponent honorably.
Even though he knew this was exactly what Yi Lian wanted, Zhen Su had no way to go against his purest heart for the ultimate martial arts.
However, the battle that followed did not unfold as Yi Lian had anticipated. In the back-and-forth exchange, Yi Lian's face grew ashen, her breathing completely disordered.
True Master entered a state of embracing truth and guarding oneness, discarding superficiality, and returning to simplicity. This is a special state that is invisible and intangible, elusive and real, and may not be comprehended even once in a lifetime. It is like a mysterious space, much rarer than a secret realm, and like comprehending sword intent at the highest level of the Ultimate Sword Dao, it is an ultimate chasm that is extremely difficult to reach.
This wasn't the first time Shinjuku had entered this state of deep concentration.
Every move was a blend of feints and real attacks; what appeared to be feints was actually real, and what appeared to be real was actually feints. Yet, hidden behind these feints and real attacks, there was no distinction between them; they were all real. Thus, Shinju's attacks, both released and withdrawn, were doubly powerful, instantly widening the gap in their offensive capabilities.
Shinju's earnest and ruthless eyes left a golden trail in the instant he teleported, like a golden beast crashing into Ikuren's heart, leaving only a mess after the storm.
The lotus flower is showing signs of decline.
Now it was Yi Lian's turn to distort her movements, revealing a strong sense of irritability.
Once the movement becomes distorted, defeat is not far off. And sure enough, after Shinju dispelled Yilian's golden silk binding around the neck, he threw her over his shoulder with a backhand, dispelling her struggles and punches. Yilian was sent flying like a cannonball.
But before Zhen Su could regain the upper hand, he realized, a step too late, that the direction in which the lotus had fallen was not right!
"Your Majesty—"
Before he could finish speaking, a sound as loud as firecrackers exploding a million times larger erupted, causing the earth to tremble violently for a long time before finally subsiding. The smoke and dust, higher than the mountains, instantly obscured everyone's vision.
"Your Majesty!!!" Zhen Su was unable to fly. He had only been able to maintain the fight in mid-air by relying on the speed of a True Immortal who defied gravity or by tearing space to achieve the effect of shrinking the earth with his inch punch. At this moment, he didn't have time to summon Gui Cheng Huang. He simply fell headfirst, rolled and knelt down, adjusted himself, and then used his inch punch to approach the location of Zhen Wang.
After realizing the situation, the cultivators also fell into chaos.
"True Lord!! True Lord!"
"How could the True Lord be at a disadvantage?!"
"That demon must have used some underhanded and despicable means to trick the True Lord!"
Zhen Su could hear the unspoken complaints of the other cultivators, but he paid no attention to them at the moment, focusing only on releasing his divine sense. However, something had somehow mixed into the smoke and dust, making it impossible for his divine sense to perceive the surrounding area.
But it was heading in His Majesty's direction...
He should have guessed it! That guy did it on purpose, deliberately letting himself be hit! He couldn't beat him in a direct fight, so he switched targets!
Shinju couldn't help but spit out a "Pah!" and continued his weary search for the King of Poison.
Something had happened to the Poison King. After Lou Lan turned to buff himself and deal with Yi Lian, he knelt on the ground, clutching his head and groaning in pain. He was overwhelmed, but he had kept a sliver of attention focused on everything. However, after entering the state of "Returning to Oneness," he suddenly lost all focus on anything outside of the battle!
He made such a grave mistake!
Thinking of this, Mayu's eyes turned a deep red with regret.
No, His Majesty will be alright, please don't...
The smoke and dust grew strangely thicker, and the presence of the righteous people outside seemed to have vanished without a trace, leaving only pitch blackness all around, where even moonlight could not penetrate.
Shinjuku's six senses were all stripped away.
His consciousness no longer had color, but was only black, white and gray.
No matter which direction you go, there is no end.
Suddenly, he heard a familiar whisper in his ear: "Go... Qing'er, go quickly."
Shinju was startled, his golden eyes widening as he searched for the King of Poison.
He thought he would never hear the King of Poison speak to him again.
"...No, brother! You're awake?!"
"Don't believe what the other 'me' says. The Lonely God is gone. Qing'er, run!"
"What?! Brother, what are you saying? Where are you? Qing'er is coming to find you!! Don't leave me behind!!"
"Quickly...go."
The sound became blurred until it was inaudible. Shinjuku was on the verge of collapse. He looked around, but he could not find the figure that was etched in his heart.
He had almost never felt such panic, no less than the two times before when he had witnessed the King of Poison in danger, when his heart nearly stopped beating.
Just as Shinju was impatiently shouting "Zhenmo," and then switching to the more dependent "Brother," the person he was calling for never appeared.
Until the smoke and dust suddenly dissipated.
All the distant noises returned to normal.
"That demon must have used some underhanded and despicable means to trick the True Lord!"
"Do not act rashly. The True Lord will not be defeated so easily. Let's wait and see."
The seemingly familiar conversation among the cultivators suddenly stirred a strange feeling in Shinsuke's heart.
Upon closer inspection, the spot where the lotus had landed became clearly visible, revealing yet another large crater.
There were two figures in the pit.
Dark clouds hung heavy in the sky, and from within them emerged a magnificent dragon claw covered in inky scales, as imposing as a palace, pressing down heavily on the man in the crescent-shaped white robe. The tall man in flowing black robes stood atop the dragon claw, his pupil-less crimson eyes slightly lowered, as if gazing down upon the lotus flower beneath it.
Yi Lian's eyes were tightly closed, her white robe gradually turned red, and the area beneath her was even more crimson, with the stench of blood filling the air.
The man in black robes smiled with satisfaction, then his gaze fell on Shinju, his face crazed, and he uttered a demonic, low, hoarse, and unpleasant voice: "Qing...er, I killed him for you, are you...happy?"
Shinjuku's chest heaved violently, his golden eyes gleaming, and he couldn't help but smirk as he asked urgently, "Your Majesty?! This... how is this possible? How could someone possessed by a demon regain their senses..."

Author's Note: I feel like I still need three more chapters... Why does it seem to be getting longer and longer? Actually, it's because each chapter is too short.
Never mind, I'll write it tomorrow.
