Chapter 62 Attendant Twenty-Seven
Shinju's golden eyes quickly turned crimson, a scarlet demonic aura spreading outwards from his pupils until they were completely covered, gleaming with a ruby-like luster. Shinju's jaw tightened, a grinding sound emanating from between his molars, and the corners of his lips curled up eerily. His already stunningly beautiful appearance was imbued with a bewitching, demonic quality, making him resemble a beautiful demon descended from the underworld to claim lives.
"...I will never let you go."
His lips parted and closed slightly, and just as the line of his lips flattened, the golden restriction on the crown of his head was removed. A wisp of pure and yang true energy escaped from it, instantly flowing throughout his body and gathering in his slowly tightening right fist.
The Second Purple Mansion had already sensed the loosening of the crown chakra and realized the True Star's intentions. It tried to stop it, but found itself blocked from all sides by a dark barrier. The True Star might have sensed its resistance, but it ignored it.
That was the last wisp of true energy. The necessary true energy to escape this small world—
Shinju, however, concentrated all of it into his fist. As he raised his fist, the air currents stirred up by the galloping horse suddenly stopped, and a series of tiny crackling sounds burst out in the air. The space around his fist abruptly distorted, and sparks of lightning flashed out like dragons.
Suddenly, a strange phenomenon appeared in the sky, with dark clouds surging and gathering. Without even raising his head, Zhen Su leaped half a mile away from the short-legged horse with a back kick, and then unleashed a punch wrapped in thunder and lightning, directly blasting open a spatial rift. His figure flashed and suddenly disappeared into mid-air.
The next instant, hundreds of densely packed crimson lightning bolts crashed down from the spot, creating a huge crater in the ground. Groundwater surged up from the bottom of the crater, and the edge of the crater was only a few feet away from the panicked, neighing ponies.
Meanwhile, inside an ancestral hall dozens of miles away.
After being pierced by the spear, the King of Poison died silently.
However, the members of the Silent Gate did not let their guard down. None of them stopped. After exchanging glances, they signaled to Fu Yin and Wen Bi to step forward and finish them off, preferably by cutting off their heads, in case of any unforeseen circumstances, to end everything completely.
Wenbi was already exhausted, so Fuyin took the initiative to draw his sword and step forward.
At this moment, a gust of wind suddenly rose from the side, and Fu Yin and Wen Bi felt their vision suddenly become empty. Before they could think of the reason, the four assassins who surrounded the Poison King had turned into rotting flesh on the spot and were completely swallowed up by the black poisonous mist. They were then captured by someone and not even a hair was left behind.
"!!" Fu Yin was the first to regain his senses, but he had no idea what was causing the disturbance, and his heart leaped into his throat. Relying on his years of honed intuition for danger, he decisively brandished his rapier and shouted a warning to Wen Bi, "Enemy attack!! Pick up your sword!"
Wenbi hesitated for only a moment before instinctively obeying his elder brother's words and reaching out to grasp the greatsword. However, just as the tip of the sword left the ground by half an inch, he felt a sudden lightness throughout his body, followed by a sharp pain in his neck. An extremely terrifying force was squeezing into his fragile throat and meridians, and if it tightened by another inch, it would kill him on the spot.
Fu Yin could hardly believe what he was seeing. A handsome figure stood in front of Wen Bi like a ghost, and with one hand, he lifted the obese Wen Bi and his giant sword off the ground.
"Let him go!!" Fu Yin was sweating profusely and dared not step forward rashly.
The man didn't even glance at them. He let out a barely audible snort, then flicked his jade finger. A strong suction force suddenly appeared in front of Fu Yin, pulling him into the air in front of the man.
A flash of red light appeared, and Fu Yin met a pair of bloodshot eyes. His mind went blank for a moment, his jaw opened and closed uncontrollably, and he blurted out the mastermind behind it all, "It was the Empress Dowager... She released my brother and me from prison and ordered us to kill the Emperor. Those four... were members of the Wuyin Sect. The Emperor captured their sect leader, and they knew their sect was doomed, so they joined forces with us."
"...How dare you! How dare you!!" The usually clear and melodious voice turned into a deep and overlapping one, carrying overwhelming anger, as if a demonic sound pierced through their ears, causing blood to seep from them.
Fu Yin trembled with fear. Faced with this irrational being, he finally gave up struggling. But before he could even beg for mercy, the man had already grabbed one of their heads with each hand, forcibly squeezing the two brothers together. Their skulls became sharp weapons, tearing at each other's flesh. Under the irresistible force, bone and flesh were forced to fuse together, their pale eyeballs squeezed out of their sockets, and their terrified faces went from smooth to wrinkled, then compressed to the extreme, finally exploding into a cloud of blood mist with a "bang."
The stench of blood filled the air, and no remains of the body remained.
Shinjuku's gaze sharpened slightly as he glanced down at his blood-soaked hands and fell silent. Then, as if suddenly remembering something, he stumbled towards the side of the King of Venom, whose body was pinned down by a spear and unable to fall completely.
The blood-stained knuckles reached under the nose of the King of Poison, but after a moment, Shinju still could not sense the flow of breath.
The bloodstains must be too thick, obstructing the sense of touch. Zhen Su's mind was in turmoil; he completely forgot he could release his secondary Purple Mansion to probe the Zhen King's physical condition with his divine sense. He simply kept wiping his hands back and forth on his robes, his knuckles turning red, before trembling and placing them under the Zhen King's nose.
Unexpectedly, blood stained his knuckles again, making Shinju even more irritable. Just as he was about to wipe his hands clean, he suddenly realized where the blood came from. His golden eyes widened, and he stared intently at the King of Poison.
The King of Poison's chest trembled, and he coughed up two mouthfuls of blood before slowly lifting his eyelashes.
His unfocused gaze gradually focused on the face of the man supporting him. When he saw those blood-red eyes, King Zhen's heart trembled violently. Overwhelmed with anger, he hoarsely shouted, "This place is dangerous! How did you get here?"
Shinju realized that the King of Poison was not dead, and his eyes lit up with wild joy. However, the King of Poison's words left him speechless, so he could only mumble, "There's no one here. I'm fine, but Your Majesty..."
At this moment, Shinju finally remembered to use his divine sense to scan, but the two dragon energies on the King of Zhen were still clearly distinct, and he could not see the extent of the damage to the King of Zhen's internal organs. After thinking for a moment, he could only think of the most rudimentary method: to check the King of Zhen's neck pulse, bypassing the wound to feel the King of Zhen's heartbeat, and to check the pulse on his wrist.
Jade-white knuckles roamed over the body of the Poison King, who weakly caught his breath, powerless to stop Shinju's actions, a dark glint in his eyes.
Fortunately, Shinjuku discovered that the meridians around his heart were not damaged; the spears had strangely avoided his heart. He didn't know how the King of Poison had managed to do it. In any case, Shinjuku breathed a sigh of relief, his mind, which had been clamoring for slaughter, finally returned to normal, and the crimson in his eyes began to fade.
A moment later, he picked up Fu Yin's slender sword and cut off the protruding part of the shaft. He dared not draw it directly, for fear that the Poison King would lose too much blood.
Suddenly remembering something, the Poison King coughed up blood and pushed Masatsu aside, saying, "No, poison gas... there's poison gas! Qing'er, get out of here quickly!"
Shinju grabbed the hand that the King of Poison was pushing him away and shook his head, saying, "It's all gone, there's no more poison gas." He had absorbed all the poison gas the moment it entered and made it his own.
Upon hearing this, King Zhen's phoenix eyes widened slightly. After hesitating for a moment, he finally removed the restriction on his Purple Mansion, and his five senses returned to normal.
As his mind cleared, the Poison King, unwilling to hurt Shinju, tried to grab onto something for leverage, but Shinju grabbed his wrist and placed it on his shoulder. So the Poison King had no choice but to tighten his grip on Shinju's shoulder, using his internal force to force the remaining spear shaft out of his body. Although the damaged meridians were sealed, his clothes were instantly soaked in blood.
"Go out first." The King of Zhen's expression remained unchanged as he slowly stood up. Shinju thought he had recovered so quickly and was inwardly sighing when he noticed that the King of Zhen's steps were unsteady and he even staggered. He quickly pressed his back against the King of Zhen's chest.
The King of Poison felt dizzy and leaned against something warm. Without thinking, he leaned against it. It wasn't until he was suddenly lifted up and his legs were supported that he realized he was being carried by Shinju.
I've really grown up...
The King of Poison gently pressed his face against the back of Shinju's neck, his gaze suddenly sharpening as he noticed a tattoo on Shinju's jade-white back beneath his collar, one corner of which resembled a lotus petal.
He tried to look further down, but the pain in his internal organs became increasingly clear. The King of Poison's face contorted in pain as he closed his eyes and forced himself to endure it.
Just then, a tremendous commotion shook the ground ahead. It turned out that a stone gate was blocking the way. Since Shinju couldn't find the switch, he simply pressed a button on the wall to pretend to trigger it. Then, he lifted the stone gate with one hand and carried the King of Venom out into the sunlight.
