Chapter 126 Discussion

The Mid-Autumn Festival is about half a month away. Lin Yan has been considering whether to make mooncakes to sell these days. However, he has never made them before. His grandmother made them in previous years, but he found it quite tedious to watch, and it is not convenient for him to do it now.

He planned to discuss the meal with his family and ask for their opinions.

The pickled fish in the shop was sold out, so Lin Yan switched to chicken feet stew. The last time he made it in the shop, the customers were very sensitive and clamored for it just by smelling the aroma. Lin Yan changed it up after a few days. Although the chicken feet stew takes a long time to make, it is delicious and fragrant, and many customers buy it.

Lin Yan is now completely unconcerned with the kitchen affairs, but he is afraid that Widow Liu will be too tired if he leaves it to her alone. So he has been thinking about whether he should hire another person these days.

Lin Yan held a string bean in his hand. The washed bean, its emerald green skin still dappled with moisture, was so fresh it looked as if you could squeeze out the juice. He pinched one end of the bean and, following the direction of the tendons, tore off the thin veins with a "hiss." A gentle pinch of his fingernails at each end removed the excess.

The selected beans were neatly stacked in a basket. Lin Yan estimated that it was almost done, so he stopped and went to the kitchen to see if the noodles had risen.

It has been a while since I last had braised noodles with green beans. Today, Lin Yan planned to braise the noodles and then make some egg soup to moisten his stomach.

Lin Yan served the prepared soup. The family members had also returned from the fields. Everyone was very hungry, so they took their bowls and picked up the noodles and started eating.

After everyone had almost finished eating, Lin Yan discussed his thoughts of the past few days with everyone.

"Mooncakes? Brother Yan, do you want to make them?" Li Yuemei was mainly worried that Lin Yan was too tired and had to do everything by himself.

"It doesn't matter to me. It doesn't matter whether I do it or not."

"Then let's not do it." Zhao Qiming rarely spoke.

"Dad..." Lin Yan was a little surprised.

"Making mooncakes is troublesome. A lot of things are needed, and you have to make molds. Besides, they are seasonal snacks. No one will buy them after the Mid-Autumn Festival. You are pregnant, so you shouldn't overwork yourself." Zhao Qiming explained.

"That's right, brother-in-law, let's just buy some Mid-Autumn Festival snacks. I don't like that stuff either." Yu Ge'er said.

Lin Yan smiled slightly. How could she not like to eat? She must have said that because she didn’t want him to be too tired.

"Okay, then I won't do it. But I have one more thing to do. I want to hire someone else. Right now, there's only Aunt Liu in the kitchen, and she's too busy to handle it."

"Okay, Amo will help you find one. Find a family with good character in the village." Li Yuemei patted her chest and promised.

"Thank you, Amo."

Since he wasn't going to make mooncakes, Lin Yan didn't think too much about it. He would buy some when the Mid-Autumn Festival was approaching and give them as holiday gifts to Aunt Liu and the others.

Most mooncakes on the market are made with five nuts, lotus seed paste, or red bean paste. Lin Yan likes the lotus seed paste ones the most because they are sweet and he can eat one by himself.

"Brother Shiyun, what kind of mooncake filling do you like?" The two of them were lying on the bed, and Zhao Shiyun was fanning Lin Yan.

"Why aren't you sleeping yet? Can't you sleep?" Zhao Shiyun turned his head to look at his young husband.

"It's too hot, please tell me."

"My mom and I like the red bean paste one, Yu Ge'er likes the lotus seed paste one, and dad likes the five-nut one." Zhao Shiyun saw that he wanted to buy it, and knowing the taste in advance, he told his family members about it.

"Okay, I'll take note. I'll buy these when the time comes."

"Buy more of what you like to eat." Zhao Shiyun reminded.

"I like the lotus seed paste one, as long as it's enough for me to eat." Lin Yan turned over and hugged Zhao Shiyun, rubbing his face against his chest, and his hands were touching him in an inappropriate way.

"Hiss..." Zhao Shiyun took a breath and grabbed his mischievous hand, "Okay, go to sleep."

"Brother Shi Yun, don't you want to?" Lin Yan asked while biting his lower lip.

"There's nothing you can do. Have you forgotten? The doctor said your condition is special and you shouldn't have sex." Zhao Shiyun really wanted to spank him for provoking him so late at night.

Lin Yan leaned close to Zhao Shiyun's ear and whispered a few words. Zhao Shiyun's eyes suddenly darkened. He turned over and carefully pressed Lin Yan down, gritting his teeth and saying, "Don't mess around..."

Lin Yan curled his lips, "I'm not messing around, I just wanted to..."

Zhao Shiyun took a deep breath and kissed him fiercely. Lin Yan's teeth were hit by him and he cried out in pain. His consciousness soon became confused. He raised his hands to hug Zhao Shiyun's neck and endured his kiss.

Zhao Shiyun's hands lingered on Lin Yan's body, and soon, his clothes were pulled open. He stroked Lin Yan's waist. Lin Yan's belly was bigger now, and his waist was not as slender as before. He carefully avoided Lin Yan's belly and reached down.

"Hmm..." Lin Yan's eyes were blurred. He raised his hand and bit his index finger. His breathing became heavier and heavier. He raised his hand with difficulty and moved like Zhao Shiyun. The two exchanged kisses from time to time, and their heads and backs were covered in sweat.

When they came back, Lin Yan was so tired that he fell asleep. Zhao Shiyun wrung out a cloth to help Lin Yan clean up, and then he tidied himself up before going to bed and holding Lin Yan in his arms and falling asleep.
