Chapter 68 Wang Erwazi Rescues Him

The two men stormed to Zhang Gui's door in anger, and Tian Sangui was about to stride forward and knock on the door.

Unexpectedly, Wang Erwazi blocked his way from behind, and Tian Sangui looked at him with a puzzled expression.

But then he was seen searching for a large stone the size of a palm behind him. He leaned back, raised his left foot, and raised his hand backward.

He then forcefully pushed the stone out, causing a loud crash that startled the people inside, who shouted and cursed.

"Who is it? What bastard is banging on our front door?"

"If I catch him, I'll skin him alive!"

No sooner had the words left his lips than hurried footsteps echoed from the courtyard, and the next moment the tightly closed gate was flung open in fury by the person inside.

This person was Zhang Gui, with a thick, long braid hanging down her chest, and a pretty pink dress embroidered with colorful little leaves.

Her skin was dark yellow and dull.

The hem was too long, and a large section of it was stained by the mud and water from the country road.

He looked older and more disheveled, completely out of place with the simple and unpretentious atmosphere of the countryside.

What a waste of her long, shiny, and smooth braid.

"Oh?"

"Your temper has grown quite a bit in just a few days, huh?" Wang Erwa chuckled as he patted the remaining dirt off his hands.

Upon seeing that the visitors were Wang Erwazi and Tian Sangui, whom she couldn't afford to offend, Zhang Gui immediately stopped her gleeful chatter.

With a smile, they greeted him: "Oh, who is it? It's Erwazi and Sangui! Come inside and sit for a while!"

Zhang Gui has a cowardly and opportunistic nature, always looking to please the people.

Tian Sangui didn't bother with formalities and cut straight to the point: "You're just spouting nonsense. You think you can get away with making my mother faint like this?"

"Wang Er, give this woman who's spouting nonsense a good beating! Let's see if she dares to talk nonsense in the village again and ruin things!"

Zhang Gui was so angry at Tian Sangui's words that he laughed. Ignoring who the other person was, he put his hands on his hips, shook his head, and laughed:

"Haha, what, I guessed right? You've teamed up with Erwazi to silence me?"

"Pah! Try touching me! My brother isn't someone to be trifled with either. I'm his only sister."

"If you dare lay a finger on me, my brother will never forgive you."

"Afraid of you? Humph!"

After Zhang Gui finished speaking, he retreated to the gate, reached inside and pulled out a wooden chair from somewhere, placed it in the middle of the doorway, and sat down.

His eyes darted back and forth between Tian Sangui and Wang Erwazi.

They're just two kids, who are they trying to scare? Zhang Gui isn't afraid of them at all.

Unable to contain his impulse, Tian Sangui kicked Zhang Gui in the chest.

Who told her to look at her with that smug look? She wasn't exactly a magnanimous person to begin with, and since she was being so displeased, she had to retaliate in person.

Otherwise, it will feel stifling and unbearable inside.

Zhang Gui never expected that Tian Sangui would attack her so suddenly, catching her off guard and causing her to tumble over with her chair.

Her beloved clothes were not only covered in cow dung, but the cuffs were also torn with a long gash by sharp stones.

The clothes that he had spent 500 coins to buy were ruined by Tian Sangui's feet after he had only worn them for two days.

Enraged, her eyes flashed with ferocity. She got up and raised her hand to strike Tian Sangui.

How could Wang Erwazi let her succeed?

He took a big step forward, his tall figure completely obscuring Tian Sangui's petite frame.

Facing Wang Erwazi, who was a head taller than him, Zhang Guiyang's raised hand froze in mid-air.

But it only lasted a moment; her hand was no longer under her control.

He watched helplessly as his hand landed on Wang Erwa's shoulder.

The floating ash was instantly blasted away by the sudden force, scattering into the air and turning into dust before falling to the ground.

"Hiss~ You dare hit me?"

I'll kill you!

The slap sent Wang Erwa's anger soaring to his head.

From birth until now, apart from being beaten by Tian Sangui, even his parents have never laid a finger on him.

That old woman Zhang Gui dared to lay a hand on him. Now that she'd been beaten and come to his door, he had no reason to be polite.

His face was as black as the bottom of a pot, and he raised his large hand, about to swing it down at her forehead.

Terrified, Zhang Gui screamed and cowered in the corner.

Now you're scared? Where were you before?

"I didn't mean it, I was wrong, I'll never do it again, please forgive me this time, I'm not even married yet, if you cripple me, my life will be ruined!"

"Waaaaah..."

Tears streamed down her face like free tap water.

Logically speaking, she and Wang Erwazi didn't do anything to her, so why were they so scared?

It really proves the old saying: a guilty conscience needs no accuser!

Wang Erwazi was no good kid who would listen to reason, and even so, he had no intention of letting the shrewish Zhang Gui off the hook.

He strode forward, his raised hand determined to strike her today.

This is Wang Erwazi's principle, and it cannot be easily broken.

Ah~

"Gurgle gurgle~"

Zhang Gui's limbs were stiff, and his body rolled around on its own until it hit the chair lying on its back on the ground, at which point it stopped.

This move left both Tian Sangui and Wang Erwazi completely bewildered.

Tian Sangui's lips twitched involuntarily: "Dizzy...dizzy?"

Wang Erwazi didn't believe it, so he went up and kicked Zhang Gui twice, like kicking a dead pig. He saw Zhang Gui lying on the ground, motionless.

"I think I really fainted!"

"That's it? You still have the nerve to be violent towards people?"

"He's nothing but a clown!"

Tian Sangui thought she was something special, but he kicked her down with one kick. She had a whole host of real skills she hadn't even shown yet.

"She's so fragile, let's go back, don't waste your time on her!"

Tian Sangui told Wang Erwa to go home.

After they left, Zhang Gui, who had been lying on the ground with her eyes closed, suddenly opened them.

He stared at the gradually blurring Tian Sangui with eyes full of jealousy and hatred.

She slowly propped herself up, an idea forming in her mind.

"Once I become your mother, I'll marry you off to an old, ugly, lame man!"

"Let Tian Sangui experience the power of a stepmother!"

Halfway there, the two walked on the dirt road under the scorching sun, holding long, thin strips in their hands, occasionally sweeping the roadside weeds.

The recruitment was ruined by that damned woman Zhang Gui. What should we do next?

"Sigh~"

"Where are we going to find so many people in such a short time?"

Tian Sangui was unusually dejected.

Wang Erwazi followed behind her, listening to every word she said.

"Tian Sangui, I told you before that you could come to me if you got into trouble!"

Upon hearing this, she suddenly turned around and saw Wang Erwazi with a blade of grass dangling from the corner of his mouth, his hands crossed behind his head, and his eyes gazing at the sky indifferently.

He wasn't paying attention to his footing and almost stepped on Tian Sangui's toes, but luckily his first instinct was strong, and he managed to stop himself from moving forward.

Staring wide-eyed, he secretly broke out in a cold sweat.

That was close! If I had moved just one more fingernail, I would have touched her toes.

If they were to run into each other, given Tian Sangui's temperament, he would definitely get angry and bite him.

Tian Sangui was unaware of what he was thinking.

"Can you help me find some people to do the work?"

He looked at the nonchalant Wang Erwazi with a mixture of disbelief and skepticism.

That's it?

She looked so worried, her hair was all braided.

"Big or small?"

Wang Erwazi glanced up at the sky and asked her through gritted teeth.

From what he said, he could summon anyone, from the oldest to the youngest?

Tian Sangui didn't believe him and raised his eyebrows, declaring, "Anyone who can work, no matter how small the job, will get ten coins a day, paid after work in the evening!"

With Zhang Gui stirring things up ahead, no matter how capable Wang Er is, he can probably only get his family involved.

"Tch~"

Wang Erwazi didn't take it seriously. He kept his head in his hands and backed away to create distance between himself and Tian Sangui.

His expression was completely indifferent as he responded to Tian Sangui with just two words: "Wait!"

Then he turned around, whistling, and drove back to the village at a steady pace.

Tian Sangui didn't have high hopes. He would call as many people as he could, and even if none of them came, she wouldn't blame him.

She could always come up with another idea. Money talks, and she didn't believe she couldn't hire a few workers.
