Chapter 204 The Waiter

Chapter 204 The Waiter

When Jiang Mi arrived at the soap shop, she found the door tightly closed. Could it be that the shopkeeper was resting at home and had not opened the door?

It seemed her trip had been in vain. Just as Jiang Mi was about to turn back, she bumped into the young shop assistant at the soap shop and called out, "Aren't you the shop assistant at the soap shop? Where's your manager?"

Upon seeing that it was Jiang Mi, the waiter said familiarly, "Oh, it's Miss Jiang. There's been an epidemic lately, and my boss has also been infected. He's currently resting at home. I've come to deliver medicine to him."

Jiang Mi glanced at the medicine in the shop assistant's hand. It wasn't the medicine packet she had packed herself, so she asked, "Where did you get this medicine from? Why didn't you go to the government office to get it?"

The shopkeeper sighed, "I'd like to, but I've gone several times and haven't been able to get in line. The master saw that I was young and strong, so he let me line up at the end. I really couldn't get the medicine for the shopkeeper, so I could only get some medicine to relieve the symptoms from other doctors, but it didn't help much. I don't know how long the shopkeeper can hold out."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Mi quickly said, "Why didn't you say so earlier? These medicines are completely ineffective; at best, they only treat the symptoms, not the root cause. I have some medicine here; come with me to get it."

Upon hearing this, the waiter's eyes lit up, and he was so happy he couldn't speak: "Really? That's wonderful! The shopkeeper is finally saved!"

The two hurriedly returned to the restaurant. Jiang Yan was in the lobby, watching helplessly as his sister returned right after leaving.

"What's wrong? Did you know how dangerous it is outside and obediently come home?"

Jiang Mi ignored him, went back to her room to get the medicine and handed it to the shop assistant: "Take this and give it to your boss. He'll be fine after taking it. He should rest for a few more days. He's not young anymore and should take good care of his health."

The shop assistant, holding the medicine packet, was deeply moved: "Miss Jiang, you are such a kind person. Even at a time like this, you are still thinking of others. But what will you do if I take the medicine packet away? Have any of your family members been infected?"

Jiang Mi smiled and said, "Yes, but we're all better now, so don't worry. Just take it and use it. If you need more medicine, you can come back to me for more."

The shopkeeper looked on with curiosity: "I heard that this medicine is very difficult to obtain. Just a few of the ingredients in it are hard to come by. Miss Jiang, I know that this medicine is very rare. It must have been very difficult for you to obtain it. The shopkeeper and I will never forget your kindness. If you need anything in the future, just let us know. If it is within my power, I will do my best to help you!"

Jiang Mi never expected him to be so moved. For her, it was just a small favor, but for him, it was like sending charcoal in snowy weather.

"Alright, you don't need to be so touched. My family doesn't need it. I have no use for this medicine anyway, so giving it to you is a good use. Stop crying and go back quickly. We can talk about it when your boss is better."

"Well, I'll head back now." The waiter said and hurriedly ran back. It seemed the shopkeeper was quite ill; hopefully, he would recover quickly after taking the medicine.

"Honey, who's that guy? He seems to know you pretty well," Jiang Yan asked curiously, watching the waiter's departing figure.

Jiang Mi didn't hide it from her family: "I made some soap before, and then I put it in their shop and asked them to help me sell it. The shop owner is a very nice person, so I'm willing to help them."

Jiang Yan nodded thoughtfully: "Oh, I see. But why don't you sell your soap in our restaurant? Customers can take something with them after their meal. Maybe someone will like it and take it to another shop. If the shopkeeper is a good person, that's fine, but what if a ruthless person steals all your money and soap?"

This was what Jiang Mi had been worried about, but she was lucky to have met a very nice shopkeeper, so she wasn't worried at all.

“Brother, what you said makes sense. But our restaurant is a place to eat, after all. I also plan to open a soap shop in the future. When business is good, we can open a few more. If any nobles or royalty like it, we might even become royal merchants.”

"A royal merchant?" Jiang Yan exclaimed in surprise.

He wouldn't even dare to think about such a thing as spitting it out.

"Honey, you really have big ambitions. Do you know what a royal merchant is? You have to make something really amazing to become a royal merchant, and you absolutely can't make any mistakes, otherwise it's a crime punishable by the extermination of nine generations of your family. I don't even want to think about it."

Jiang Mi puffed out her chest and began to explain her plan: "You have to dare to think before you can act. Otherwise, we'll be stuck in a small place for the rest of our lives. What you just said has enlightened me. Once the plague is over and our restaurant reopens, we can put our soaps in the restaurant to show everyone. Even if they don't sell them, our products will become well-known. Gradually, many people will know about soaps and that they belong to the Jiang family."

Jiang Yan's mind wasn't as quick as Jiang Mi's, and it took her a while to realize: "You mean, you want to use our restaurant's business to boost the soap business?"

“That’s right, that’s what I’m planning to do.” Jiang Mi said enthusiastically, “Once people gradually accept soap and are willing to buy it, we can open a soap shop. I need to give these soaps a nice name.”

Jiang Yan felt that his younger sister was particularly amazing. He looked at Jiang Mi with shining eyes and didn't need to think anymore. He just did whatever his sister told him to do.

Thinking of this, Jiang Mi excitedly began to work. She had many things to do now, including the planting at home and the opening of the shop. She was so busy that she could hardly keep up. She had to gradually hand over the things to people she trusted to manage.

Although the Jiang family members are reliable, few of them have the business acumen of businessmen. It is crucial to cultivate our own people.

Jiang Mi then saw Zhang Min'en moving things. This young man was smart, skilled, and capable. Perhaps he could become her right-hand man in the future.

"Min'en, come here for a second." Jiang Mi called out, and Zhang Min'en heard it, put down her things and came over.

"Young Master, you were looking for me?" That's how Zhang Min'en addresses Jiang Mi now.

Jiang Mi smiled and said, "You're already at the master chef level, but I think it's a bit of a waste for you to just be a brewing master. With your intelligence and talent, you might be able to achieve even greater things."
