Chapter 95 Confrontation

Chapter 95 Confrontation

Cheng Ying pretended to comply with Wei Mucheng, and after he left, she curled up on the bed, her mind becoming increasingly dizzy.

She knew it was the effect of Wei Muchen mixing the sleeping pills into the water. He was probably afraid she would find a chance to escape, so he gave her the drugs every day, making her weak and unable to escape. He also tied her hands and feet with chains, preventing her from leaving the wooden bed or the basement, leaving her at his mercy.

Cheng Ying lay on her back on the large bed covered with a thick quilt, biting her tongue, trying to keep herself awake by the pain, her mind constantly thinking about the current situation.

After confirming his rebirth, Wei Muchen imprisoned her here by any means necessary. If she hadn't taken the medication and was still healthy, she could have fought him and tried every possible way to escape.

Escaping from him now is harder than climbing to heaven.

All she can do now is keep Wei Mucheng calm and wait for Long Buxi to come and rescue her.

She disappeared without a trace. Given Long Buxi's commitment to keeping promises, he will definitely do everything he can to find her.

However, she still needs to do some things in order for Long Buxi to find her.

She laboriously moved her right foot in front of her, somewhat relieved that it was already early winter. She was wearing wide-leg pants, which well covered the anklet that Long Buxi had put on her ankle. Wei Muchen took off her shoes and didn't notice her anklet.

She stretched out her hands, which were bound by chains, and laboriously pulled up her trouser legs. When she saw the silver anklet wrapped around her ankle like a small snake, she couldn't help but shake her foot.

The four small silver bells strung on her anklet made no sound as she moved.

She lowered her head and rummaged through her pockets. Her ever-present military dagger was gone. It seemed that Wei Muchen had searched her while she was unconscious and taken her weapon to prevent her from attacking him.

Since that's the case, she had no choice but to use the most primitive method: activating the bells on the anklet.

To prevent her from escaping and to avoid her from doing unnecessary exercise, Wei Mu nailed the chains into the wall behind the bed. He used four chains, each less than a meter long, to bind her hands and feet, preventing her from moving too much and harming herself or him.

The four sides of the bed were bare, and she had no other way to bleed, so she could only bite her finger and drip the blood onto the anklet.

Time passed second by second. In the dimly lit basement, a thick smell of blood filled the air. Cheng Ying thought the blood was dripping too slowly, so she simply bit her five fingers and smeared it directly onto the four chopstick-sized bells.

Fresh blood dripped into the intricate patterns of the silver bell. As the blood accumulated, it gradually gathered at the top of the bell, turning the entire bell blood red. Soon, the bell rang without any wind.

"Ring ring—ring ring—"

The four small bells rang together, forming an eerie ringing network in the silent basement, their sounds echoing for a long time.

In the days that followed, Cheng Ying behaved very quietly, unlike in her previous life when she opposed Wei Muchen, angered him, and made him even angrier, causing him to do all sorts of unbearable things to her.

Seeing that she was very well-behaved, Wei Muchen didn't make things too difficult for her. He served her good food and drink every day, and would kiss and hug her whenever he had free time, trying to get some 'interest' from her.

Cheng Ying silently endured it. If she hadn't been reborn, and a man did these things to her against her will, with her strong personality, she definitely wouldn't have been able to bear such humiliation and would have fought him to the death.

Now that she has been reborn, she has come to terms with many things. As long as Wei Muchen doesn't take the final step against her, there is still room for redemption. As long as Long Buxi comes to save her, she can endure anything until then.

Cheng Ying looked toward the entrance to the basement, her eyes filled with worry. She wondered where Long Buxi was now and whether he could really find her.

After finishing his work, Wei Muchen didn't linger for a moment. Eager to get home, he drove his car to the basement on the outskirts of Beijing.

He knew Cheng Ying too well. She was strong-willed. He had chained her up and imprisoned her in the basement. Her current quiet demeanor was merely a pretext to find any opportunity to attack him or leave him.

Whenever he left the basement for work or other reasons, he would lock the entrance tightly, fearing that she would escape and, like in his previous life, call the police, bring his father to arrest him, and send him to jail for more than ten years, eventually leaving him neither human nor ghost.

He hated Cheng Ying, turned against him ruthlessly, and had no lingering affection for him whatsoever; he wanted to leave him.

He also deeply loved Cheng Ying and feared that if she really left this place, she would never return and become another woman, cuddling and panting in someone else's arms.

The thought of her sharing a bed with another man made his heart ache as if it were being ripped apart.

He would never allow her to leave him. Even if she hated him to death, he would keep her by his side and make sure she could never leave him for the rest of her life!

He opened the basement entrance, entered the basement, and quickly walked towards the large bed in the middle of the nearly 100-square-meter basement.

Seeing that Cheng Ying was still lying in bed, asleep with her eyes closed, neither unchained nor having escaped the basement, he felt a great weight lifted from his heart.

Wei Muchen stood by the bed, observing Cheng Ying. Seeing that her breathing was steady and her eyeballs under her eyelids moved occasionally, indicating that she was in a deep sleep and not pretending to be asleep to deal with him, his heart softened. He took off his shoes, climbed into bed, and lay down next to Cheng Ying, pulling her into his arms and bringing his head close to her neck, inhaling the comforting fragrance emanating from her body.

For several days, Cheng Ying was on tenterhooks, fearing that he might suddenly go crazy and take advantage of her while she was asleep.

She endured this for several days, but she couldn't take it anymore and fell into a deep sleep.

Half asleep, she felt someone holding her and kissing her forehead. She was dreaming of being in a Miao village, waiting for Long Buxi to comb her hair. She subconsciously mumbled, "Long Buxi, where have you been? I've been waiting for you for ages."

As soon as she finished speaking, a strange sense of crisis swept over her, which startled her awake from her dream, as she saw Wei Muchen's face so close to hers.

Wei Muchen slowly sat up, staring at her in the darkness with a violent look in his eyes. He reached out and grabbed her chin, gritting his teeth as he said, "You even dream about his shadow. What am I to you?"

Cheng Ying could have kept tolerating it, but hearing his words, she couldn't help but retort, "Who do you think you are? Don't you know your place?"

Wei Muchen's face darkened instantly. He grabbed her and pinned her down, pressing his entire body against hers. He reached out to undress her, his voice filled with hatred as he said, "It was my carelessness. I forgot that you've always been a cold-hearted person. Once you decide to leave me, no matter what I do, you won't change your mind. You've been pretending to obey me for so many days, are you trying to find a chance to kill me and escape from here, just like in my past life? You tricked me once in my past life, do you think I'll fall for it again now?"

Cheng Ying was terrified by his actions. She looked up at Wei Muchen's eyes, which were filled with hatred and madness, and knew that Wei Muchen had been completely enraged by her. Her heart trembled, and she tried to maintain a calm tone, saying, "Wei Muchen, don't go crazy. Calm down and talk things out."

"Speak properly?" Wei Muchen kept pulling at her clothes. "I've tried to talk to you properly, to make you forgive me, to make you change your mind and live a good life with me, but have you ever listened? You never take my words to heart, you only want to leave me and be with other men. Since that's the case, I don't need to pretend with you anymore. If I can't have you, I'll have your body! Once you're a used woman, how can the man you like still like you!"

The buttons on her shirt were undone, and her exposed skin felt cold in the air. Cheng Ying was terrified and struggled desperately: "Wei Muchen, do you know what love is?! Love is loving everything about the other person, respecting their wishes and preferences, not like you, hurting them recklessly, imprisoning them, and restricting their freedom! This is pure crime, this is psychopathism!"

"I don't know what love is. I just want you to stay by my side, to belong to me alone!" Wei Muchen was also furious, grabbing her neck and roaring, "You want to escape from me and go to another man? Then I'll tie you up, imprison you, and you'll die by my side. You won't leave me even for a moment!"

Cheng Ying, unable to bear it any longer, burst into a tirade: "Wei Muchen, you're a complete lunatic! Who would want to die by your side! I truly regret not killing you in the first place, giving you the chance to torment me! Do you think that by imprisoning me by your side, I'll change my mind and love you? Don't even dream about it! I will never love you, I will never change my mind, never! In my eyes, you're just a pervert, a pathetic wretch!"

Wei Muchen felt as if his heart had been stabbed countless times, yet he laughed maniacally, "It doesn't matter, you don't love me, but I love you. I've changed my mind. Tonight, I'm going to take you. Then I'll let your fiancé come and see what you look like as a slut."

After he finished speaking, he lowered his head and kissed Cheng Ying's lips fiercely, violently tearing open her clothes with both hands, intending to take the final step.

The next second, he let out a cry of pain, because Cheng Ying bit his lip hard, breaking it open and causing blood to gush out, filling his mouth with blood.

He quickly released her mouth, wiped the blood from his lips, and, filled with rage, laughed in anger before tearing at her pants.

Cheng Ying mustered all her strength and kicked him hard in the lower abdomen.

But Wei Muchen was prepared. With her legs pinned down, the effects of the drug were still in effect. As soon as she moved, Wei Muchen pressed her legs down hard, his hands pressing down on her struggling body, and began to take off his own clothes.

Seeing that he was serious, Cheng Ying became even more frightened. Just as she was about to show weakness and try to coax Wei Muchen to calm down with tears, a loud "bang" suddenly came from the tightly closed basement door.

At the same time, a familiar bell rang out outside the basement entrance.

"Ring ring—ring ring—"
