I also blame my brother. I never wanted any of the family property. I even went out to earn money on my own when I was in college just because my mother said that our family was short of money.
But my brother was scammed when he went out to work, and my mom wanted to drag my dad and him into committing suicide by burning gas, and I persuaded her not to. He was clearly at home, not working, but he would rather watch my mom run the store and take care of the family without helping out at all. Finally, when the doctor told me that my mom was malnourished and needed extra nutrition every day, my heart felt like it had been stabbed.
Qin Yuhuan covered her heart with her hands. Even though she was in pain, the emotions she expressed seemed diluted. Only her eyes were filled with lingering sadness.
"Ziyi, I'm grateful that I read so many books. If I hadn't, I might have collapsed at the moment this happened. But I still blame myself. I wanted to get the money back, to vent my anger, to save my mother, but none of them worked.
So I couldn't go see my friend. I only had enough energy to keep myself alive, and I couldn't care about anything else. I didn't want her to see me... so sad and miserable."
Qin Yuhuan used to be outgoing and outgoing, but because of these complicated things, she became what she is now, lukewarm, like a puppet without warmth or soul, with not even much emotional fluctuation. Her career is a mess, and so is she.
Her memory was getting worse and worse. She could not remember anything that happened recently. She spent every day in a daze. At night, when she closed her eyes, she could only think about things at home. The hatred, resentment, pain and longing haunted her dreams.
Countless times, she wanted to bring her mother out of her dream, but after walking all night, she was too exhausted to get out and always failed.
"It's already great." Ziyi patted Qin Yuhuan's arm. "Xiao Qin bought a house for his father and supported himself on his own. He's amazing. Do you want to cry for a while?" She patted his shoulder. "Let me lean on you."
"No, emotions are immediate. Thank you." Qin Yuhuan rolled up the tissue in his hand and threw it into the trash can. He took a deep breath, as if trying to hold back the remaining tears and emotions.
"Besides, I feel better now that I've let it out. Before... I could only ask myself."
"You're right, and you did a great job, Qin Yuhuan." Ziyi straightened Qin Yuhuan's body and said in a serious tone, "Look at me."
Qin Yuhuan raised her eyes, but the moment she raised her eyes, tears rolled down her face again, and Ziyi's face became blurred in her eyes.
"You're so good, Qin Yuhuan. Trust me, I've always been a very good judge of people, and I'll be even better in the future." Ziyi reached out and wiped away the tears on Qin Yuhuan's face with the tip of her thumb. "Cry, don't hold it back. I know it must be sad for you to leave mom. It's okay, okay?"
