Chapter 7: Make Better Progress Next Time

"So, no compensation is needed. They signed me, and they'll definitely find enough value in me. As long as they want to find value in me, I'll still have a job and won't be frozen out. If I really am frozen out, I can always find another part-time job. I don't need money that much now." Qin Yuhuan pushed a bottle of warm Wangzai milk to Ziyi. "Don't be angry. I volunteered back then."

"Then I'm not that angry," Ziyi subconsciously took a big sip of milk, "it's just..."

I just feel that Qin Yuhuan is quite miserable.

But she couldn't say this in front of the person herself, as if she felt sorry for her. In fact, Ziyi wouldn't feel sorry for Qin Yuhuan either, because no one likes to be pitied.

"There are still seven years left, it doesn't matter," Qin Yuhuan said openly, "making friends with you two is a surprise tonight."

Ziyi bit the plastic straw and muttered, "You're really optimistic."

I can't understand why such an optimistic person would suffer from severe depression and finally choose to leave his small rental apartment.

“Yuyu, you really are…” Shen Zhiming didn’t know what to say.

The biggest fear of star chasers is that the real person they meet in reality is different from what they imagined in their imagination, but the Qin Yuhuan she met up close was even better than she had imagined.

Whether in conversation or other matters, she was extremely steady. Not like her or Ziyi, who had explosive tempers, but rather she was quiet, extremely stable and composed.

"Then, I'll treat you tonight?" Qin Yuhuan was already preparing to scan the code to pay. "I'll eat all tonight. Next time we have the chance, I'll seriously treat you all to a meal."

"You're treating me, what the hell?" Ziyi said, directly blocking the payment code. She was half a head taller than Qin Yuhuan, so Qin Yuhuan really couldn't do anything about her. "Whoever found the place should treat me."

Ziyi scanned the code and paid in one go, leaving Qin Yuhuan no chance at all.

After dinner, Ziyi drove Shen Zhiming home first. They had already lost contact with the paparazzi when they were in the commercial street, and the paparazzi were probably already home by now.

The black G-Class slowly drove towards the suburbs. Qin Yuhuan was sitting in the passenger seat. He turned on the navigation and drove forward according to the navigation instructions.

The place where Qin Yuhuan rented was a bit remote. The community was not old or dilapidated, but the property management was obviously not attentive and the landscaping was not done well. When he went there, there was a smelly ditch with garbage piled up on the side.

She didn't rent a parking space in the community, so when Ziyi drove her car in, she paid an extra 20 yuan in parking fees.

"Why do I feel like the twenty yuan went straight into the pocket of the old man at the door?" Ziyi looked at the private payment collector while parking the car. "Twenty yuan for each car coming in from outside. This old man is really making money."

"It's like this, but I do feel a little comforted by having a property. Do you want to come to my house and have a seat?" Qin Yuhuan invited Ziyi when opening the car door.

Ziyi glanced at the time. It was only nine o'clock. "That's fine."

I hung the car moving phone in front and locked the car.

"No activities tomorrow?"

"Yes, the recent events are all local. I just need to calculate the time to go." With Qin Yuhuan's status, an event is just a small part of her. She can just go there on time, see what kind of makeup others are putting on, and then she can put on her own makeup and then use the time to change clothes.

After entering the house, Ziyi found that Qin Yuhuan's home was different from what she had imagined.

The small living room is carpeted and there is a pot of green plants on the side. When the floor lamp is turned on, the room is filled with dim light, making it look particularly warm.

The coffee table was piled with a bunch of miscellaneous little things, including small dolls, various glasses, and ceramic storage decorations that looked like they were used to hold things.

"It's a bit messy." Qin Yuhuan went to the kitchen and poured a glass of water. "I'm going to take off my makeup and change clothes. You can sit for a while and look around. It's okay."

Ziyi said "oh" and felt a strange feeling in her heart.

She sat on the sofa covered with a navy blue blanket, holding a teacup with an insulation pad in her hand. She did not walk around, but reached out and poked the small blind box doll on the table whose name she could not remember. When the doll fell, she picked it up and poked it down again.

"Your home is very cozy."

Qin Yuhuan came over with her hair tied up skillfully, sat cross-legged on the carpet, and began to sort the things on the coffee table that she had not finished sorting. Then she heard Ziyi sigh.

"I just like staying in such an environment. It makes me feel safe." Carpets, dolls, pillows, and green plants all fill her fantasy of a "home."

"I thought your family would be that kind of..." After gesturing, she couldn't help but chuckle, "the aloof style. Mainly because you look that way."

"It seems you misunderstood," Qin Yuhuan pushed one of the little people to Ziyi's side, "I'll give you one, thank you for the ride and dinner."

"Are you really giving it to me? I heard it's not easy to open this thing." Ziyi didn't understand hidden models or anything like that, she just saw some hidden models that were difficult to open when watching videos.

"This is a regular model. I'm not that lucky. I'm the type who can't even win five dollars playing scratch-offs." Qin Yuhuan put the dolls into a basket, stood up, and placed them one by one on the display cabinet in the living room. "These are all regular models."

Ziyi stood up and looked behind Qin Yuhuan. There was only one spot missing in the display cabinet. Her obsessive-compulsive disorder kicked in and she put the figurine in the spot. "I'll lend it to you first. Otherwise, your display cabinet is too unfriendly for people with obsessive-compulsive disorder. I'll buy you another one someday and exchange it with you."

"But that was a thank-you gift for you?" One for one, so Qin Yuhuan didn't give any thank-you gift at all?

Ziyi's calculation was different: "Is that why I said I lent it to you?"

Qin Yuhuan: ...

All right.

Just as she was about to say goodbye, Qin Yuhuan's phone rang. She gave an apologetic smile and went into the room to answer the call.
