Chapter 1

Chapter 1

The weather in June is changeable. It was sunny not long ago, but now it is covered with dark clouds.

On the Third Ring Road elevated highway, traffic is moving slowly, vividly illustrating the famous saying on the Internet: "There's a traffic jam once a day, and it lasts a whole day."

He Tong sat in the taxi, looking down at the city below the overpass, which was familiar yet a little strange.

He was reborn over an hour ago. Reborn from ten years later.

It was June, and he was driving alone to a cemetery on the outskirts of town, the Best Actor trophy he'd received the day before resting on the passenger seat. The weather was fine when he entered the highway, but soon a torrential downpour began. As he approached the exit, a large truck, unable to stop, barreled forward. He Tong saw danger in the rearview mirror, but it was too late to evade. In the blink of an eye, a violent collision erupted from behind, sending a sharp pain through his head. When he opened his eyes again, he was transported back ten years.

He Tong raised his eyes and looked at his own shadow reflected in the car window.

Thick eyebrows, a straight nose, a hint of fuzz on his lips, hair not much longer than a crew cut, a simple round-neck white T-shirt, the youthful aura of eighteen years old emanated from him. Only his dark eyes held a calmness that was unbecoming of eighteen years old.

The phone tucked into his jeans pocket rang. He Tong took it out, glanced at it, and then answered it: "Brother."

The voice on the other end of the phone was low and serious: "Where are you now?"

"On the way to find Brother Ye."

"Hold him steady, and don't leave until I give you the news. I'll be flying back tonight."

"good."

After a few brief conversations, both parties hung up the phone.

He Tong glanced at the time: 3:12 pm.

He stood up and patted the back of the driver's seat: "Master, how long will it take to get there? Can you drive faster?"

"After you get off the overpass and pass the traffic light, there will be no traffic jam. It will probably take another ten minutes. Young man, please be patient and wait." The driver answered loudly and enthusiastically.

He Tong hummed softly, leaned back in the back seat, tilted his head, and continued to look at the scenery outside the window.

However, he couldn't help but increase the strength of his hand holding the phone, and it was trembling slightly.

At 3:28, He Tong got out of the taxi, but did not leave in a hurry. Instead, he stood on the side of the road and carefully observed the building opposite.

The renowned Zhilei Network headquarters, though no longer brand new, still carries a majesty etched by time. On a weekday afternoon, the area in front of the building is quiet, with only the occasional person entering or leaving, and even the road in front of it is sparsely populated.

He Tong looked around for five or six minutes before crossing the street, climbing the stairs and walking into the gate.

At the age of eighteen, his height has reached 184 cm, with broad shoulders, narrow waist and long legs. Even in the most ordinary white T-shirt and jeans, he is very attractive.

In his previous life, He Tong had been in the entertainment industry for many years, having won two Best Actor awards. He was accustomed to being stared at. Under the gazes of the people in the first-floor lobby, he walked directly to the elevator for high-rise buildings and naturally reached out to press the button, opening the elevator door with his fingerprint. There was an immediate uproar in the lobby, but he ignored them and walked in.

The elevator went up and stopped at the top floor.

When the elevator door opened, He Tongxian saw a tall and strong man sitting in the outer rest area.

The other party was a little surprised to see him and stood up to greet him. He Tong raised his index finger and pressed it to his lips. The other party understood, smiled silently, and sat back down.

He Tong walked through the rest area and came to the door of the only office on this floor. He reached out and gently pressed the door handle.

The fingerprint lock opened, and the heavy wooden door slid forward silently, revealing a slender figure standing in front of the window and making a phone call, and a low, cold voice.

He Tong's hand holding the door handle couldn't help but tighten, and a sudden warmth welled up in his eyes.

He is still here, still standing, how great...

At this moment, He Tongcai truly felt the reality of rebirth.

The figure in front of him was like a ray of light, shining into his brain which had been in a daze for more than an hour, and making his heart, which had been silent for a year, beat violently.

He will never forget June 25th, the summer after the college entrance examination. It was on this day in his previous life that a car accident left the person in front of him unable to stand up again. He had been bedridden ever since and barely survived for nine years before dying at the age of thirty.

And now, this person is standing right in front of him.

At this moment, He Tong even felt grateful to the driver who sent him back to ten years ago.

Perhaps feeling the burning gaze, the person with his back to the door turned around.

Seeing He Tong outside the door, he was visibly stunned. Then, his beautiful peach blossom eyes narrowed slightly, his originally tight lips curled up slightly, and even the fierce aura around him softened a little.

Ye Yuze, the 20-year-old boss of Zhilei Network, only shows a bit of life in front of He Tong.

He Tong adjusted his state in an instant, suppressed his inner excitement, and walked into the office with brisk steps.

Ye Yuze quickly gave a few instructions and hung up the phone. At the same time, he sat back in the large boss chair and reached out to pick up the intercom.

"What do you want to drink? I'll ask the Secretariat to bring it up."

"No, this is fine."

He Tong casually grabbed a bottle of mineral water from the coffee table next to his desk, and sat down on the armrest of the sofa while unscrewing the bottle cap, but his eyes were reluctant to leave Ye Yuze for a moment.

Seeing this, Ye Yuze threw the microphone in his hand and leaned back in his chair casually.

"Didn't you play games all night last night? Why didn't you sleep at home? I suddenly thought of coming here."

"I just happened to come here... At noon, some classmates dragged me to school to pick up the application form, so I filled it out." He Tong took a sip of water to calm his erratic heartbeat. "Guess where I applied?"

Ye Yuze tilted his head lazily: "It doesn't matter. With your score, I can let you go to any school you want."

He Tong grinned: "A school you would never imagine."

Ye Yuze raised an eyebrow: "Where?"

"Yancheng Media University, Department of Performance."

"Oh?" Ye Yuze showed some interest. "You want to be an actor?"

"I don't just want to be an actor..." He Tong clicked the bottle of mineral water in his hand, "Brother, I also want you to act with me and win the Best Actor award together."

Ye Yuze stared at He Tong intently, his amber eyes seemed to be able to see through the skin and into the soul.

"Brother..." He Tong blinked and started to act like a young and energetic high school student. "You don't have anything to do all day anyway, so just accompany me to play."

Ye Yuze stood up and walked over to He Tong step by step. He placed one hand on the back of the sofa, bent down slightly, stared into He Tong's eyes, and slowly said, "I'll ask you again, why did you want to come here?"

He Tong tensed his back and continued to play innocent: "That's what I thought of. Let's open a studio."

Ye Yuze lowered his eyes, his thick and long eyelashes almost covering his pupils. The two were so close that He Tong could almost feel the light breath he exhaled on his face.

"For the last time." Ye Yuze said, "If you really don't want to say it, forget it."

He Tong: “…”

They stared at each other in silence for a moment. Ye Yuze closed his eyes, then opened them again, stood up, and tried to turn around.

He Tong suddenly felt panic for no reason and quickly reached out to grab his arm.

"No, I said!"

Ye Yuze, whose arm was held, half-turned his body to glance at him, and the corners of his lips rose slightly again.

"Go ahead."

He Tong sighed inwardly. His rebirth was so bizarre, and he was so overjoyed to see Ye Yuze. He hadn't had time to process the turmoil, and in front of this person, he was completely exposed. He let go of her hand and rubbed his hair in frustration.

"Ye Zexu is out." He Tong said.

He Tong and Ye Yuze were actually from two different worlds.

He Tong was born into an ordinary family. If there was anything different about him, it was probably that his parents grew up in the same orphanage. His father, He Qing, volunteered in the military after graduating from high school and became a driver after his discharge. His mother, He Lan, attended a secondary teacher training school and also worked diligently after graduation. When they married and had a child, the child naturally took the director's mother's surname. Remembering the bond of childhood sweethearts living under the same roof, they named him Tong.

Ye Yuze was born with a spoon in his mouth made, if not of diamond, then at least of platinum. His father was Ye Chengzhi, a self-made man who built a fortune in the internet industry, and his mother was Fang Jinglei, a triple-Award-winning actress. Both his grandfather's and his maternal grandfather's families were renowned in their respective fields.

The two initially connected with each other through He Qing being the Ye family's driver, responsible for picking up and dropping off Ye Yuze, while He Lan became Ye Yuze's personal assistant, taking care of his daily life. The young He Tong had met Ye Yuze a few times with his parents, and had affectionately called him "Brother Ye" a few times.

What happened next was the usual drama that happens in a wealthy family.

As soon as Mr. Ye died, Ye Yuze was kidnapped. He Tong's parents were also kidnapped along with Ye Yuze, and then Ye Yuze's parents were also kidnapped. It wasn't just a kidnapping; the kidnappers took the money and wanted to kill the hostage. Despite the efforts of the four adults, only fifteen-year-old Ye Yuze escaped alone.

If Ye Yuze hadn't escaped, it would have been just a kidnapping case. However, Ye Yuze escaped. So in the end, the Ye family was almost wiped out.

Old Master Ye had three sons. The third son, Ye Chengzhi, died at the hands of kidnappers. The eldest and second sons, who were the masterminds, were directly sentenced to death along with several kidnappers. The eldest daughter-in-law was sentenced to life imprisonment. The eldest grandson, Ye Zexu, was only sentenced to more than five years because his parents took the blame. Only the second daughter-in-law and granddaughter were not involved.

After dealing with the people from the Ye family, the fifteen-year-old Ye Yuze took the thirteen-year-old He Tong home to raise him personally.

He said, "He Tong, from now on, no matter what you do, I will be with you."

The two people who shared the same fate supported each other for five years.

And a few days ago, Ye Zexu, Ye Yuze's cousin, was released from prison after serving his sentence.

Ye Yuze snorted and laughed: "Why bother paying attention to a piece of trash."

He Tong said irritably, "The point is, my friend saw him hanging around here."

This was a lie, there was no such thing as a "friend". The truth was, in He Tong's previous life, Ye Yuze had just left the Zhilei Network headquarters building when Ye Zexu drove a car and hit him in the ICU.

Ye Yuze was a little surprised: "Does your friend still recognize him?"

He Tong opened his mouth and continued to lie: "He's the child of my father's comrade-in-arms. His father is in prison now. I thought the time was almost up, so I asked his family to keep an eye on him."

Seeing that Ye Yuze didn't ask any more questions, He Tong quickly changed the subject and said, "I've already told Brother Fang. He sent someone over to investigate and promised to give me news soon. Are you done? Let's not rush back yet. Let's have afternoon tea here. Didn't they say a while ago that the company restaurant hired a new pastry chef?"

Ye Yuze sat down again without any objection and deliberately made things difficult: "I don't want to eat."

He Tong finished talking about all the things that were weighing on his mind. He was not panicking at all. He took out his phone and said, "How about playing games? Brother, please help me save stars. I want to get a new skin."

Ye Yuze looked at the Zhilei logo that lit up on his phone and said disdainfully, "Didn't I give you a full-fledged account? It's too mediocre. I'm too embarrassed to see anyone without you."

He Tong was used to being shameless in front of his brother Ye, and had no baggage at all. He leaned over the desk, picked up the phone, entered the password to unlock it, opened the game, and put it in the man's hand.

"It's not that I saved it up myself. Come on, just say you want to bring a girl. Turn on the team voice chat. I'll put on a voice changer and yell 666 for you."

"I think you should just tell the other guy to kneel down."

Ye Yuze complained, but his subordinates cooperated and decided to form a team.

The two played the game for almost an hour before He Tong finally received the news that the person had been controlled.

He breathed a sigh of relief. The first step toward rewriting his destiny had finally been achieved.

"Are you relieved?" Ye Yuze quit the game and stood up. "Let's go home for dinner."

"It's time to celebrate. Let's open the bottle of wine that Brother Fang gave us." He Tong stood up.

The two men walked out of the door one after the other. The driver and bodyguard sitting in the rest area immediately stood up and pressed the elevator button first.

At the same time, a creaking sound came from the corner. He Tong turned his head and saw that the security door across from him had been pushed open. It was the cleaner who walked in with cleaning supplies.

Their phones suddenly rang at the same time. Ye Yuze opened them as he walked and found that it was the second brother Fang that He Tong had mentioned earlier who was making a noise in the family group.

"Second brother is really..." He Tong smiled and replied with his head down.

With a ding, the elevator arrived.

Ye Yuze stepped forward.

Just as he walked past the driver, He Tong, who was still typing, suddenly felt something, looked up, and his face suddenly changed.

The cleaner who just came in was holding a stick and swinging it at the back of Ye Yuze's head!

"Yozawa!"

He Tong quickly took a step forward and hugged Ye Yuze in his arms to protect him tightly.
