Chapter 27 Nightmare
Shang Ruyi was taken aback: "What are you doing?!"
Yuwen Ye didn't say a word, but grabbed her wrist and pulled her to the bedside. He pointed to the bed with a blank expression and said, "You sleep here."
Seeing his cold expression, Shang Ruyi suddenly felt a surge of anger: "Where I sleep is none of your business, let go!"
Yuwen Ye didn't say a word and threw her onto the bed!
"ah!"
Shang Ruyi fell onto the bed. Although the mattress was soft, her back still had the marks from the whipping, and she cried out in pain. Before she could get up, Yuwen Ye leaned down, grabbed her hands and pinned them to the bed, one leg kneeling on the edge of the bed, and his whole body was on top of her.
"What are you doing?!"
Shang Ruyi was in pain and anxious, especially feeling the current posture of the two of them. Her face turned red and white in turns. She wanted to struggle, but Yuwen Ye's hands held her tightly like iron clamps, making her unable to move at all.
Shang Ruyi gritted her teeth and said, "Let me go!"
Yuwen Ye raised an eyebrow slightly, staring at her without moving.
Their eyes met, and Shang Ruyi suddenly realized something; her face flushed red.
Because she noticed that although the two were in such an ambiguous position, when Yuwen Ye looked down at her, his gaze was as cold as ice, and he didn't even make a single extra movement to touch her.
On the contrary, her resistance seemed so superfluous and even more ridiculous.
Yuwen Ye looked down at her and said in a deep voice, "Listen to me clearly, even if you are not my wife, I, Yuwen Ye, will not take advantage of a woman."
"..."
"We are in a transaction, not adversarial."
"...!"
His calm, almost emotionless words sent a shiver down Shang Ruyi's spine.
That's right.
She did have a request, and only the Yuwen family could give her what she wanted!
Even if this marriage is just a transaction, they should cooperate properly instead of being enemies.
She then realized that her anger just now was a fit of embarrassment—the shame of being discovered before she could even express her wishful thinking, only to find that the other party didn't even have the "willingness" to express it.
She turned her face to one side, her ear tips burning.
"I see."
"..."
"Let go!"
Yuwen Ye slowly released her, then straightened up and stood by the bed looking at her. Shang Ruyi's face flushed red and then turned pale. She slowly sat up and said, "I lost my composure just now."
"..."
“You’re right, we’re cooperating, we shouldn’t be hostile.”
Seeing that she had calmed down, Yuwen Ye said no more, turned around and walked to the low bed, where he lay down.
Shang Ruyi slowly lay down on the bed.
The room fell silent immediately.
Her chest still ached faintly from the violent heartbeat. Lying on her side, she could see the flickering candlelight projecting Yuwen Ye's handsome face onto the wall as soon as she opened her eyes. Even just the clear outline carried his cold and aloof aura.
Just like the bucket of cold water poured on my wishful thinking, it was icy and bone-chilling.
Shang Ruyi turned around, her back to him.

This was the most difficult night of her life.
She didn't even know when the red candles burned out or when the bridal chamber became pitch black; she only felt as if she were drifting on a duckweed, falling into a chaotic dream.
In a daze, she found herself in a strange yet magnificent mansion, at a loss, when suddenly, war broke out!
The dream has transformed into a living hell.
Hearing the agonizing screams around her, watching those beautiful women fall one by one into pools of blood, a chill ran through her body from the fear and helplessness. What horrified her even more was that her family members were also...
"No, no!"
Shang Ruyi was terrified. She desperately shouted, "No, I didn't do it with him—I've already—"
