After a while, he calmed his breathing and said, "It's nothing, just a cramp."
"cramp?"
Shang Ruyi glanced down at his leg: "Are you injured?"
Yuwen Ye shook his head, urging his horse forward as he said, "I'm not injured. I've had occasional bouts of trouble these past two years. It's nothing serious."
Shang Ruyi wanted to ask something more, but seeing his cold expression and obvious reluctance to talk, she could only silently lower her head again.
Yuwen Ye, holding her in one arm and gripping the reins in the other, galloped away on horseback. His expression was cold and stern, but his eyes seemed to hold some deep, unsettling emotions.
