Chapter 311 Redemption
Yue Mushan listened to the fox demon's complaints that Ye Xiaoman was deliberately trying to stop him. He said nothing and his gloomy expression relaxed a little.
When the store manager heard they knew each other, he forced a smile through his face and said, "I'll leave it to you. You must make sure the customer gets a good beating."
The store manager taught some sales techniques. A few ghost messengers working in the mine walked in through the door. He hurried over to flatter them. Before leaving, he pushed Yue Mushan on the back and said, "Go quickly."
Yue Mushan straightened his collar and walked towards Ye Xiaoman.
The fox demon followed behind him and sighed.
The two old demon kings were really cruel. They threw Yue Mushan into the ghost world without giving him a penny. He had to earn money for food and accommodation by himself.
In order to survive, Yue Mushan had to find a job.
The pampered young master had no social experience. Although he was careful and tried to avoid fake high-paying jobs, he still found himself in a black shop.
When signing the labor contract, it was agreed that I would do odd jobs in the kitchen, but it did not say that I would sell my body. However, after signing the contract, I was forced to sell alcohol.
Unhappy and wanting to quit, the store manager tore off his kind facade, revealing his ugly true face. He took out the contract, which had a line of small transparent words on it that needed to be burned with fire to appear - if you quit before working for two months, you would have to pay a penalty of 10 million spirit stones.
I can only keep doing it.
It's not over yet. After some investigation, the fox demon found out that the store manager tricking people into working was just the first step. He would then induce people to gamble, give them addictive drugs, and when they owed huge amounts of money, he would turn their labor contracts into indentures and sell them to brothels as playthings.
A beautiful young demon cultivator like Yue Mushan, with his Yuan Yang still in place, could fetch a huge sum of money. Once he was sold at the auction for the first time and lost his Yuan Yang, a hellish life awaited him.
The store manager is a psychopath who likes to torture his employees. Those who fail to meet sales targets will be beaten to a pulp.
Days like this are torture every day.
The fox demon suddenly remembered that Ye Xiaoman was very rich. He asked Yue Mushan expectantly, "Do you think she will redeem us?"
Yue Mushan didn't answer, but took a wine price list from a passing waiter.
"She likes you, right? Why don't you mention it to her later?" The fox demon was irritated by Yue Mushan's stubborn attitude. He bit his fingertips and said, "You've gotten to where you are now. Forget about your damn pride. I don't want to bother with you. If you don't say anything, I will."
He said harshly, "If we were sold to a brothel and trampled by thousands of people, you might as well be played by her. At least you only need to serve her."
He looked at Ye Xiaoman again, shrank his neck, and whispered: "At least she looks okay, it's not a loss."
Yue Mushan didn't know whether he had taken his words to heart or not, and quickly distanced himself from him. The fox demon felt that he was walking a little faster than usual.
Ye Xiaoman was surrounded by a circle of male salesmen. Although she didn't spend a penny and they had to pay for her drinks, the boys still liked to hang around her because she was pretty, good at coaxing people, and charming but not vulgar.
Ye Xiaoman was coaxing someone to undress in the name of her ancestral massage technique when she suddenly heard Jing Zhui's voice beside her: "Why are you here?"
She was startled and turned around, only to see Yue Mushan.
He deliberately imitated Jing Zhui's voice to scare people, and pretended to be a mature adult with a delicate face, but his behavior was still childish, which made people feel pity for him.
Ye Xiaoman smiled: "You are also good at ventriloquism."
She was pleasantly surprised and waved him to sit next to her. "You are here..." she saw the waiter's badge hanging on his waist. "Work?"
Yue Mushan's big fluffy tail was wrapped around her waist, and the tip of the tail was tucked into the belt. Even with the extra layer, her waist still looked very slender.
This might be done to make work easier, or it might be done to prevent someone from taking advantage of the situation in a crowded place. Ye Xiaoman found it inexplicably cute, and her fingers were itching to move.
"I was tricked into coming here." The fox demon pushed away the people surrounding the outer circle, squeezed in, and sat on the other side of Ye Xiaoman.
The store manager thought Ye Xiaoman was a potential stock and sent her a few plates of side dishes. The fox demon picked up the chopsticks and started eating, tears in her eyes. Life was too hard, and she finally got to eat something delicious.
Ye Xiaoman picked up a piece of grilled fish and fed it to Yue Mushan's mouth. Facing Yue Mushan's face, her words were so gentle that they could squeeze out water. "Tell me, how did you get tricked into coming here?"
Yue Mushan lowered her eyelashes gracefully and ate the fish slowly with her chopsticks, while the fox demon chattered away, explaining the whole story.
The fox demon looked at Ye Xiaoman expectantly and said, "The store manager said that as long as each of us pays a penalty of 10 million spirit stones, we can leave here."
Ye Xiaoman realized that the fox demon was hinting at her to help pay the ransom. If someone didn't say it directly, she would pretend not to understand.
Seeing her indifferent, the fox demon became anxious and said, "Just think of it as lending us some money first. Amu's family is very rich. I will definitely pay you back double in the future. Hey, please rescue us quickly."
If she doesn't like to hear it directly, she will just pretend not to hear it.
She didn't know about the shady dealings in the store. She just thought that the two of them couldn't bear the hardship of working, so she didn't get involved in the matter of spending 20 million.
She pretended to be deaf, stood up, walked to the railing in front of the seat, leaned on it and looked down.
"The demon clan is at the third level of Qi training, facing the ghost world cultivator at the third level of Qi training."
In the fighting arena, the referee standing in the middle waved the flag, and two monks jumped onto the stage and started fighting with real swords and guns.
The bloody and brutal scenes stimulate people's nerves.
The surrounding spectator stands were full of people, all of whom were waving their fists and hysterically shouting the names of the players they had bet on, with a look of unbridled enthusiasm on their faces.
Those who are unlucky may lose all their property overnight because of betting on the wrong treasure, and have to risk their lives to mine to pay off their debts, or become slaves in the store.
Yue Mushan walked over, imitated her movements, and leaned on the railing to watch.
Elbow to elbow.
Ye Xiaoman tilted her head towards Yue Mushan and asked, "Is your family rich?"
Yue Mushan rested his head on his elbow, looking at her with moist eyes, "Not bad."
Ye Xiaoman understood "okay" as a well-off family. He looked like a simple young man from a good family. After marrying into the family, he would be diligent and thrifty in managing the household chores. He was stable and reassuring, unlike that stinky vixen over there who asked her for 10 million right away.
She couldn't help but poke his soft cheek and said, "If you really need money, I can lend you some."
If you can't pay it back, you have to pay with your body.
Yue Mushan smiled and said, "It's not easy for my sister to make money. I will find a way myself."
Wow, so sensible, Ye Xiaoman’s favorability points are increasing rapidly.
"The ghost world monk wins—"
In the fighting arena, the referee raised the ghost cultivator's hand and announced that the other demon cultivator, lying on the ground, didn't know whether he was dead or alive, and was carried away on a stretcher.
Around Ye Xiaoman, there were sounds of people cursing and slamming tables. They were all people who lost money gambling.
