Chapter 278: "Born Without Silence"

One person is the world.

It was difficult for Ryoko to describe how she felt at that moment.

It was as if all the spotlights in the world turned at the same time, and countless shining stars suddenly dimmed.

It was like an invisible hand that turned the tide and grasped her heart.

She remembered that she had said similar slanderous words to the No. 1 player when she was on the forum before.

Since everyone was talking about it and no one was stopping her, then of course she could join in on the conversation.

Even if someone really jumps out to stop it, they can just label them as a "watchdog" or a "guard dog", and then a hearty but fruitless war of words will begin.

But now.

She stared at the new posts that were refreshed in front of her, and felt suffocated for a moment when she saw the passionate hype words.

"Why, why did it come to this? He's just a student like me, why, why does he..." she muttered to herself.

"Ryoko..."

The old man on the recliner, with a large palm-leaf fan covering his face, suddenly spoke lazily, as if answering her:

"[…If the sky is dark, then survive in the dark.]"

Ryoko turned back slowly.

The old man's words were still full of vicissitudes. His face, which looked like old tree bark, was covered by a palm-leaf fan, but words still emanated from his moving lips:

"[…If making a sound is dangerous, then keep silent; if you feel you are powerless to shine, then curl up in the corner…]"

“Ding Dong!”

Ryoko heard a system prompt.

That was a reminder she set, (Exclusive Special Attention), which belonged to only one person.

When the special attention reminder sounded, all the guests lowered their heads at the same time, in unison, as if they had been trained.

They did this just to open the forum interface.

But this scene, reflected in Ryoko's eyes, made her feel like she was witnessing the change of an era.

Ryoko felt her breathing quicken.

She lowered her head and blended naturally into the crowd like everyone else.

In my ears, the old man's words are still slowly grinding, like a stream barely flowing in a dry river:

"But don't get used to the darkness and defend it; don't be proud of your own mediocrity;

Don’t mock those who are braver and more enthusiastic than you…”

When opening the interface, Ryoko saw her trembling fingers.

...and a very brief line of words reflected in her eyes.

【Su Mingan v (world ranking No. 1):

"I can be as lowly as dust,

Do not twist like a maggot."
