Su Mingan went to many places.
The changes in Praia are subtle, but they are everywhere.
The tavern is no longer as dark as before. Due to the strict control of the royal city, there is rarely any human trade.
Under the city wall, the Soul Hunter registration office is still crowded.
On the hillside, tombstones were erected for those who died in the Siren's attack on the city. The dark tombstones were scattered all over the field, and people came to lay flowers every hour.
The Church of Light still stood in the Fountain Square, and many people came and went, praying for the gods of Yunshang City. Although Yunshang City had been destroyed, some people still believed devoutly that the gods had simply left the city and were still protecting them somewhere.
Su Mingan also saw many familiar people.
Since Lele never married, Lele's mother and Lele lived together. The aroma of Teni tea came out from the window, attracting many customers.
When Su Mingan asked, Lele said that she had met a man when she was young. That man saved her grandmother Jiaerde and the whole Praya. Since then, she suddenly didn't want to get married. She thought it would be better to devote her career to Praya.
"I am very happy, that's enough. It doesn't matter if the neighbors point fingers at me. I don't think people have to marry someone and have children in this life." Lele raised the basket in his hand: "Guest, would you like a cup of Teni tea?"
"I don't have any money..."
"It's okay, I'll treat you." Lele smiled innocently: "You remind me of my youth. This cup of tea is my treat. Praia has beautiful scenery. I wish you a smooth journey and a safe trip in the future!"
Su Mingan took the tea, thanked him and left.
He saw the female pirate Elena, who had now become a wealthy merchant in Praia. As an experienced captain, she lived a comfortable life in the tide of maritime trade.
He saw Kasang and Xiaona, who were living in the gathering place of the Soul Clan. Although their range of activities was small, they seemed to be living a happy life. Love had become the most perfect additive in their lives, and a baby was just learning to speak.
He saw a white-haired old man with a cane, who looked like an English gentleman. The old man stood under the shade of acacia trees in the outer city, gazing at the bustling crowds in Praia with a kind and peaceful expression.
When Su Mingan passed by the old man, the old man seemed to have sensed something and whispered:
"…Are you back?"
The voice was hoarse but full of expectation. The old man held a pure white mask in his hand. He seemed to have been waiting under the tree for a long, long time, waiting for someone to come back.
"..."Su Mingan did not respond and walked away slowly.
The old man stood quietly under the shade of the tree, straightening his hat. He raised his hand and compared the pure white mask in his hand with Su Mingan's back.
“Although the faces are different, the auras are very similar.” The old man said softly: “…Welcome back next time. This is your world.”
Su Mingan went to the royal city.
Around the royal city, sophisticated electricity-making equipment is being manufactured. It seems that Praia is trying to produce electricity. I believe that a more affluent life is not far away.
In the royal city, there is a new king who was elected through the election system. She is discussing foreign trade issues with her ministers. After the storm disappeared, Praia's island trade is in a state of rapid development.
"The ships of the At Empire are about to arrive. The batch of At Stones counted in the treasury today will be distributed to the soul hunters within three days. The safety of civilians must be protected." The queen looked majestic and kind, and every word and action of hers was for the people.
Su Ming'an did not disturb the new queen. He hid himself in the space and left quietly.
In all the corridors and art galleries of the royal city, portraits of Princess Tulip have been smashed. People are trying to erase all traces of Princess Tulip.
As Su Ming'an walked past the city wall, he heard voices from the wall.
"Everyone, today the At Empire will send the 'Pearl of the Sea' to trade. We must protect the Queen's safety and cannot be lax in the slightest. Do you understand?"
The strong sunlight of Praia shone on their golden armor. The swords at their waists, their upright postures, and their determined eyes all showed that they were qualified knights of the royal city.
The players shouted:
"Captain, we will defend the Queen to the death and will not let the Soul Clan take advantage of us!"
Su Mingan looked at the young men on the city wall who were full of vigor and vitality. He stood there for a moment, the sea breeze blowing his black hair.
Three seconds later, he raised his hand, covered the space, and left silently.
…
As the evening approached, Su Mingan subdued several street robbers and took some gold and silver. He bought two pots of wine at a roadside tavern.
He arrived at his final destination, the hillside.
Tombstones are like a forest. The mountains and plains are filled with tombstones of varying heights, made of stone, wood, covered with cloth, or even just a crooked cross, a cenotaph, and a few wilted flowers.
Under the blood-red sunset, a stone pillar stood with clear words. It stood at the front of the hillside, like the oath of the dead:
We hope that
[There will be no more wars, pain and suffering will dissipate in the wind. A world without war can also be here. ]
[In this scarred land, our souls will smile. ]
…
Wherever you look, you see densely packed names and years.
Su Mingan poured the wine in his hand onto the ground in front of a tombstone. The golden knight's medal in front of the tombstone shone brightly.
He made a bracelet out of the flowers he picked along the way and placed it in front of a girl's tombstone. The poem on the tombstone was still clear, and many wild flowers had bloomed around the land.
