The little money-grubber's rampage
It happened in the blink of an eye!
The gigantic demon king, with its protruding fangs and ferocious tattoos, grabbed the Xuan Iron Treasure Chest that Wang Zhubu was desperately protecting in his arms with his fan-like hand, which brought a bloody wind that tore through the air! Wang Zhubu felt an irresistible force coming at him, his arms were in excruciating pain as if his bones were about to be crushed, and he screamed in agony as the Xuan Iron Chest slipped from his grasp!
"You wicked creature, how dare you!" Commander Zhao, the guard, roared with fury, his eyes blazing with fury! His dark figure transformed into a bolt of lightning, the magnificent longsword at his waist gleaming with a blinding cold light, carrying an unwavering determination to sever everything, aimed straight for the giant demon king's back! This sword strike was fast, ruthless, and precise, embodying the culmination of his life's cultivation!
However, the giant demon king didn't even turn his head, only letting out a disdainful snort from his nose. A concentrated, tangible, and violently ferocious dark demonic aura exploded from his body like an invisible hammer!
"Bang!"
Commander Zhao was struck as if by lightning, his sword and all, violently thrown away by the overwhelming demonic energy! He crashed onto the hard side of the cloud boat like a kite with a broken string, making a dull thud. His blood surged, and his long sword flew out of his hand, landing with a clang on the edge of the deck. He was unable to get up for a moment!
"Hmph, overestimating yourself!" The giant demon king weighed the heavy black iron box in his hand, his tattooed face contorting into a greedy and cruel smile. He stretched out his thick, scaly fingers and roughly dug at the center of the intricate sealing runes on the box lid.
With a soft "click," the rune's light dimmed instantly, and the box lid popped open!
In an instant, an intensely rich spiritual aura soared into the sky! Thirty thousand top-grade spirit stones were piled up like a mountain, pure and translucent, each containing a vast amount of refined spiritual power, their shimmering light seemingly containing a galaxy within! Even more dazzling were the snow-white strands of love threads, thousands of them, supple and radiant, emitting a mesmerizing pink glow that captivated the soul—the supreme treasure upon which the Moon God's Palace relied to bind marriages!
The entire interior of the cloud boat was illuminated by this overwhelming wealth, making it shimmer and even dilute the raging, dark demonic aura.
"Hahaha! What a treasure!" The giant demon king laughed wildly, making the cloud boat vibrate. "Grandpa is in a good mood today. Leave the money and goods behind, and I'll spare your lives! Get lost!" He made a move to close the lid of the box and leave with this immense wealth.
At the very moment when the precious light shone brightest and the giant demon king was carried away with his pride!
"Buzz!"
A chilling, bone-piercing killing intent, solidified as a physical force, erupted suddenly from the stern of the cloud boat without warning! Like ancient ice instantly freezing boiling magma, it sent shivers down the spines of all living beings present, whether they were arrogant demon kings, terrified celestial officials, or those strange little demons!
Everyone looked in astonishment toward the source of the murderous intent.
Qian Jin, who had been standing quietly by the porthole as if captivated by the ethereal scenery, had now completely transformed!
Those once clear and calm eyes were now ignited with two cold, almost frenzied flames! Deep within her pupils, it was as if countless golden abacus beads were colliding and shattering wildly! Her aura was no longer that of a newcomer's modest respect, but rather filled with violence and anxiety, like the raging fury of someone whose beloved possession had been stolen and whose life savings had been plundered! Her once captivating face darkened completely, like a dark cloud pressing down, so gloomy it seemed to drip water!
"Put...the...money...down...the...place!!!"
A suppressed shriek, squeezed out from between the teeth, with a piercing, metallic scraping sound, tore through the brief silence!
The next one-thousandth of a breath!
No one saw how she moved! They only saw a blur before their eyes, and a figure in moon-white light transformed into a white lightning bolt tearing through space! There was no soaring through the clouds, no magical arts, just pure, terrifying speed from the sheer power of her physical body pushed to its limit! The gust of wind she created instantly swept away the scattered items on the deck!
"Whoosh—smack!!!"
Time seemed to stretch out infinitely at that moment.
Qian Jin's figure appeared like a ghost in front of the giant demon king. In the reflection of his pupils, which were slightly dilated with astonishment, her slender figure soared into the air, her waist like a bow, her right arm swung in a wide arc, accumulating all the terrifying power to split mountains and shatter rocks. Without any fancy moves, she struck his left cheek, which was covered with strange tattoos!
The sound was crisp and clear, like a thunderbolt from the heavens striking an ancient iceberg! It was also like a treasure pouch filled with gold and jade being smashed to pieces by a tremendous force!
"ah!!!"
The colossal demon king's massive body was sent spinning halfway around by this seemingly delicate slap! Fangs mixed with blood and a few broken teeth sprayed out! The tattoo on half of his face instantly twisted and deformed, and a clear, swollen, purplish five-finger mark appeared like a brand! The black iron box in his hand crashed to the deck with a "clang," and the light of spirit stones and love threads poured out once again.
The scene froze completely.
The churning, inky black clouds seemed to have been paused.
The snarling grins on the faces of those grotesque little demons froze, their eyes bulging as if about to pop out.
Wang, the registrar, still wore the horrified expression he had after his box was taken, his mouth agape wide enough to fit a duck egg.
Just as Li Siji struggled to his feet, his obese body frozen in a comical, upturned position, his fear replaced by utter astonishment.
Commander Zhao, who had just managed to sit up, froze, his hand gripping the ship's railing, his stern face filled with disbelief and bewilderment.
Even the four startled winged celestial horses stopped neighing softly.
Qian Jin landed without even glancing at the stunned giant demon king. Her eyes, burning with a chilling flame, were fixed on the scattered spirit stones and love threads on the deck. She took a step forward, her slender hand swiftly grasping the ornately decorated longsword that Commander Zhao had dropped! The sword was icy cold, yet it instantly hummed, tainted by the raging killing intent emanating from her!
"All things are impermanent; all is suffering!"
She spoke, her voice icy and devoid of any human warmth; each word was like a steel needle tempered with ice, piercing the eardrums of every living being present.
"Greed is like drinking salt water; the more you drink, the thirstier you become!"
As she chanted cold maxims filled with Buddhist wisdom, she dragged her long sword, the tip of which drew a blinding spark and a deep mark on the hard, ancient sandalwood deck, step by step toward the giant demon king who was covering his face, seeing stars, and not yet fully recovered.
"The sea of suffering is boundless, but turning back is the shore? Ha..."
Qian Jin's lips curled into a cold, almost ferocious smile!
"Today, I will deliver you, you blind and wicked creature, on behalf of Buddha! May you be forever free from the three poisons of greed, anger, and ignorance! Physical deliverance, you will instantly turn to ashes!"
Before she finished speaking, she flicked her wrist, and the ornate longsword in her hand erupted with a chilling killing intent completely at odds with its decoration! There were no elaborate sword techniques, only the simplest, most direct, and furious slash! The target was the giant demon king's neck! The speed was so fast that only a bright afterimage remained!
"My goodness!!" The giant demon king was terrified. The chilling killing intent made him forget the burning handprint on his face! He let out a strange cry and scrambled backward to dodge, accidentally knocking over a dumbfounded little demon.
"Stop! Stop! A gentleman uses words, not fists! A good man doesn't fight with a woman! Ahhhhh, don't cut me!!" He howled like a banshee while frantically parrying the chaotic yet powerful sword light that aimed straight for vital points. Where was the arrogance he had shown just moments before?
"Uncle-Master! Uncle-Master, help me!!! She's serious! She's gone mad!!!" The giant demon king's voice was choked with sobs as he desperately screamed in a certain direction.
Just as Qian Jin's second sword was about to fall, and it seemed that blood would splatter on the cloud boat,
"Fairy Money, please calm down! You mustn't!!!"
"Show mercy! They're one of our own!!!"
Wang, the registrar, Li, the accountant, and Zhao, the commander, finally snapped out of their shock and were terrified! The three of them practically pounced on the attack!
Wang, the registrar, grabbed Qian Jin's sword-wielding right arm tightly, pressing it down with all his might, his old face turning red: "Let go! Let go now! Fairy Qian! It's a misunderstanding! A huge misunderstanding!"
Li Siji then pounced like a hungry tiger, barely managing to grab Qian Jin's waist with his obese body, practically hanging on her, his voice trembling as he cried out, "Oh my little darling! That's your senior brother! It's fake! It's all fake!"
Commander Zhao reacted a little slower, but he still took a step forward, half-kneeling on the ground, his arms clamping down on Qian Jin's calves like iron clamps, stopping her from pursuing him. His voice was urgent: "Test! This is a test by the allocation department! Not a real robber!"
Qian Jin was tightly bound by the three men, his forward momentum halted, but his body still trembled slightly from his rage. His eyes, burning with a chilling flame, were fixed on the giant demon king who was fleeing in terror, and he was still coldly chanting: "...The greedy will fall into the realm of hungry ghosts and suffer the torment of hunger and thirst forever! Today I will send you to reincarnation! Physical reincarnation!"
"Money Fairy! Look! Look at the box! Close it! Close the money box quickly!" In a moment of inspiration, Clerk Wang shouted to a little demon who was terrified.
The little demon shuddered and scrambled to the overturned black iron box, hurriedly stuffing the scattered spirit stones and love threads back in, and then slammed the lid shut with a loud bang!
The precious light was instantly blocked.
Just as the lid closed, a magical scene unfolded.
The two clusters of frantically burning, eerie flames in Qian Jin's eyes were extinguished with a "poof," as if a bucket of ice water had been poured over her head. The violent, raging killing intent and ferocity surrounding her, which had almost solidified into a tangible form, dissipated rapidly like the receding tide. Her tense body instantly relaxed, the madness in her eyes faded, and her gaze returned to its clear state... even carrying a hint of bewilderment, as if she had just woken up.
She blinked, glanced at the three celestial officials clinging tightly to her arms, waist, and legs, then looked down at the dusty longsword she still held in her hand. Her delicate eyebrows furrowed slightly, a hint of confusion and displeasure at being disturbed showing in her expression. Her voice returned to its usual clear and melodious tone, though her voice sounded a little dazed.
"……take an exam?"
Seeing that she was finally back to normal, everyone breathed a sigh of relief and slowly released their grip. Wang, the registrar, supported his aching back; Li, the accountant, wiped his sweat; and Zhao, the commander, silently picked up his sword and sheathed it, his face still expressionless, but his tense shoulders visibly relaxed.
Qian Jin followed their still-shaken gazes and looked at the giant demon king who had been so ferocious just moments before.
Where was that ferocious giant now?
He was lying on the ground, clutching half his face, wincing in pain, tears welling in his eyes. He was clearly a young man dressed in the standard disciple's robes of the God of Wealth's Mansion!
He looked no more than seventeen or eighteen years old, tall and slender. Even with his left cheek swollen and a sliver of blood hanging from the corner of his mouth, it couldn't hide his excessively handsome face. His features were exquisite, his nose high and straight, and his skin fair. However, his once bright and captivating eyes were now filled with grievance, anger, and incredulous shock.
The few strange, menacing demons behind him had transformed back into young men and women dressed in the robes of the God of Wealth's disciples. They looked at Qian Jin, their faces covered in dust and grime, still shaken, their eyes filled with awe, lingering fear, and a hint of horrified disbelief, as if they were looking at a monster. They instinctively moved away from the pure white figure, huddling together and trembling.
“Illusionary talisman…and demonic energy simulation array…the cost is not low.” Qian Jin’s gaze swept over the few dull talisman fragments and broken black crystals scattered on the ground. She instantly understood the principle of this test. She pursed her lips and muttered a sentence with a hint of dissatisfaction at “wasting money”.
Just then, the unbelievably handsome young senior brother finally recovered from the immense shock and burning pain. Pointing to his left cheek, swollen like a steamed bun, he was both angry and in pain, his fingers trembling. His beautiful peach blossom eyes glared at Qian Jin, almost spitting fire. His voice, somewhat muffled by the swelling, was filled with overwhelming grief and indignation, and a vehement, teeth-gritting accusation:
"Qian...Qian Jin! You...you...you actually dared to hit me?! I, Ao Ming...I'm not done with you!!! Waaah...it hurts so much..." The last part even brought up a hint of aggrieved crying.
