Chapter 12: Using Underhanded Tactics
Lu Lin never treated him as a younger brother, nor did he ever take Lu Shangyan seriously. It was only because Lu Shangyan listened to him that he was considered a loyal "little brother." So, when the young Lu Shangyan moved between several families and needed to stay with them temporarily, Lu Lin was willing to give up his bedroom floor so that Lu Shangyan would have a place to sleep.
Normally, when it was the other two aunts' turn to take care of him, he would be very wary of Lu Shangyan. Every time he saw Lu Shangyan from afar at the gate, he would move stools to block the doorway, stacking them higher than Lu Shangyan, to prevent this little burden from taking advantage of their family.
He looked down on Lu Shangyan and thought he was easy to bully and manipulate. When they were young, Lu Shangyan was his punching bag. Even though Lu Shangyan could give them benefits when they grew up, he still didn't restrain himself at all.
In such an extremely unfair situation, if Lu Shangyan makes even the slightest mistake, it will be magnified in his eyes, and he will be seen as an ungrateful wretch who smears them!
Hearing Chen Shuo's exaggerated words, he was immediately consumed by anger and pressed down on Lu Shangyan's arm with increasing force until the arm was completely taut.
In an instant, Lu Shangyan felt that he might not die of suffocation today, but rather from a broken neck.
His vision blurred, then turned crimson, and then began to drift away like a lantern as his body plummeted endlessly.
Lu Lin seemed to have cursed something again, but his ears felt like they were filled with sand, and he couldn't hear anything clearly.
This was the first time Chen Shuo had ever seen him so utterly miserable, unable to retaliate or even fight back, only being unilaterally abused. He picked up his phone to capture the scene from every angle, so he could enjoy it later.
Sitting in the luxury car, Qiqi couldn't stand it any longer and secretly called the police. When she saw Chen Shuo holding his phone, looking smug and ready to record, she didn't have time to get out of the car. She immediately raised her hand and threw the bag covering his face at him, hitting him squarely on the back of the head.
His good mood was shattered, and he stared wide-eyed back, yelling, "Damn it! Are you trying to get yourself killed?!"
Although Qiqi works at a bar and eats fruit platters, she's willing to get into the cars of wealthy and generous customers and spend a few days with them. However, she's not the kind of woman who would disregard everything for money.
She got out of the car and slammed the door shut. She used all her strength, hoping to damage the car so that Chen Shuo would have to pay her a lot of money.
Kiki rolled her eyes at him: "I think you're the one who's sick! Does she even know you? You're just making trouble for no reason! If I ever dated a piece of trash like you, I'd never be able to hold my head up in front of my girlfriends again! My social standing would plummet!"
Chen Shuo didn't care about filming anymore; he just wanted to teach Qi Qi a lesson and let her know who the "boss" who was paying for the money was.
Fortunately, the police station was right next to the area, and Qiqi had only taken a few steps when she saw the police officers running out.
Qiqi took the opportunity to hide behind the policewoman, pointed at Chen Shuo and said, "He instigated people to commit crimes! I was doing a good deed by stopping him!"
Lu Lin was furious. After being pulled away by the police, he struggled forward like a bull, preparing to fight again. He bumped into a policewoman next to him, causing her face to hit the ground and leaving a large scar.
Finally, he was pinned to the ground and unable to move before he was truly at peace.
Afterwards, the police wanted to take Lu Shangyan to the hospital, but perhaps because his neck pain was severe, it temporarily masked the pain in his stomach, and he felt nothing was wrong. Especially since if he went to the hospital for a medical examination, Lu Lin's situation would probably become even more complicated, so he shook his head and refused.
There were security cameras at the street corner, which clearly recorded that Lu Shangyan didn't utter a single word in response; he was a complete victim.
After the investigation was completed, Lu Shangyan was released, while Lu Lin went to the police station three times in one day and was detained for five days.
Lu Shangyan said he wanted to settle things privately and not pursue the matter further. The police disagreed, believing that people like Lu Lin would not change unless they were truly taught a lesson and would become increasingly arrogant.
Lu Shangyan turned to look at Lu Lin, only to be met with a fierce glare: "I don't need forgiveness for homosexuality!"
"Let me tell you, Lu Shangyan, I'm putting this out there: as long as you're a homosexual and don't change this perverted habit, I'll beat you every time I see you!"
As he spoke, he charged forward again, swinging his fist. He didn't change his mind no matter how many times he tried, and things had escalated to this point, so there was no point in Lu Shangyan saying anything more.
After a whole day of running around, he hadn't accomplished anything, and he felt a heavy weight on his mind, neither able to calm down nor feel at ease.
He wandered to the street corner and, seeing the luxury car that Chen Shuo hadn't had time to drive away, decided to hide in the shadows.
Chen Shuo, swearing and turning back every few steps to give the middle finger, finally reached the car.
Lu Shangyan reached out and quickly pulled him into the shadows, while simultaneously twisting his hands behind his back with his other hand.
It was pitch black all around, and Chen Shuo couldn't see Lu Shangyan's face. He thought someone had come to rob him, and he immediately trembled with fright.
Lu Shangyan keenly sensed this and, just as Chen Shuo was about to retaliate, he took the initiative to raise his arm, placing it across Chen Shuo's neck and pressing it down firmly.
Chen Shuo felt a cold object pressed against his neck, and immediately began to tremble even more violently, but he still pretended to be calm and said, "Let's talk this out. The police station is right behind us. If you make a move, you won't be able to escape either."
Lu Shangyan tilted his head and lowered his arm. Soon, Chen Shuo became just like him not long ago, unable to utter another word.
"So you're such a coward, Chen Shuo." His voice was calm: "Now you'll cooperate with me to record a message and explain to my brother whether I'm gay or not."
Upon hearing that it was him, Chen Shuo felt a sudden heat rising in his body. He felt ashamed and tried to twist his body to retaliate, but the cold object pressed against him slowly moved to the carotid artery in his neck, and he froze, too afraid to move.
"If you dare to hurt me, I guarantee you will pay a heavy price."
Lu Shangyan chuckled softly, quite different from his usual cold yet gentle demeanor. His laughter carried a hint of darkness and silence, making Chen Shuo's body tremble with fear.
"You saw it just now, he thought I was gay and wanted to kill me. I might as well kill you first and take you down with me before I die."
Chen Shuo's legs went weak, but he said firmly, "You wouldn't dare."
Lu Shangyan didn't say anything more, but slowly rubbed his skin with the thing in his hand.
Chen Shuo was unable to move, his life was in Lu Shangyan's hands. As time passed, he felt his flesh begin to hurt terribly, and he even seemed to smell blood.
In terms of mentality, he has never won.
So he only held on for less than three minutes before nodding in agreement, his teeth chattering.
He figured he could always go after him later, or he could go back and call the police and have Lu Shangyan arrested too.
Lu Shangyan took out his phone, signaling for him to cooperate.
Chen Shuo could only manage a forced smile, explaining that a girl he used to like liked Lu Shangyan, so he had always disliked Lu Shangyan and wanted to find an opportunity to get revenge on him. That's why he spread rumors about him, saying he was gay.
That's about 90% true.
Lu Shangyan saved the recording before releasing his grip on Chen Shuo. Chen Shuo immediately covered his neck and ran away. He felt that his neck was dry and there was no blood. Only then did he breathe a sigh of relief.
Then, looking into Lu Shangyan's hand, he realized that it wasn't a dagger that could kill someone by slitting their throat; it was just a broken bottle opener!
Chen Shuo had been feeling frustrated all afternoon, and his eyes were practically bulging out of their sockets in anger.
Lu Shangyan looked at his genitals and laughed again, a laugh that was utterly mocking.
Then, with utter contempt, he said, "Your legs are still shaking like that, did you wet your pants in fear?"
He had always disliked Lu Shangyan, and now that he had embarrassed himself so badly in front of him, he couldn't hold back any longer and rushed forward to try and regain the face he had lost that day.
Taking the opportunity, Lu Shangyan took another half step forward and stood right in front of the camera, where he received a solid slap on the arm.
He's been using underhanded tactics back and forth, so he's no longer afraid of going to the police station.
Chen Shuo didn't have as many schemes as him. Seeing how weak he was now, taking a few steps back after being punched, Chen Shuo immediately became interested and wanted to take back all the pent-up anger from the past few years and teach Lu Shangyan a lesson.
But before Lu Shangyan could retaliate again, a car turned a corner and rushed towards the two of them.
The car headlights were so blinding that Chen Shuo didn't have time to retaliate before he was kicked hard in the stomach.
Lu Shangyan narrowed his eyes and finally recognized the person as Pei Yumin, whom he hadn't heard from in almost a day.
Chen Shuo also crashed into that tree, but he was much more seriously injured than Lu Shangyan. He lay on the ground clutching his stomach for a long time without getting up.
Lu Shangyan walked over, pretending not to notice, and took the opportunity to stomp on his leg that was lying on the ground several times.
Chen Shuo cursed angrily, "If you're blind, go see an ophthalmologist!"
Pei Yumin had just learned what had happened that day and was so anxious in the car that he almost had a car accident several times. When he heard Chen Shuo scolding him like that, he couldn't stop. Unlike Lu Shangyan, he didn't consider the consequences of his actions.
He wasn't afraid and stepped directly on his thigh.
Chen Shuo doesn't work out, so the skin on his thighs isn't firm and is quite tender. Pei Yumin slid down on it, eventually only stepping on a small area and slowly grinding it.
This time, Chen Shuo was in so much pain that he was covered in sweat and screamed out in agony.
When he fell to the ground and rolled around, he was kicked several more times.
Lu Shangyan couldn't stand it anymore and reached out to tug at his arm: "Alright, alright?"
Pei Yumin ignored him and simply shielded him behind her.
He met someone today and learned a lot about Lu Shangyan. Now, looking at his face, he felt a pang of sadness. His hands trembled as he gripped Lu Shangyan's arm, but he didn't dare to use too much force.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Chen Shuo scrambled to his feet and stumbled forward, leaning against the wall. After only a few steps, another car stopped behind him, and the person inside opened the door and shouted, "Chen Shuo, you little bastard! Get back here right now!"
Chen Shuo was stunned. He turned his head and saw that the person who came was his father, his biological father!
His eyes lit up instantly, and he rushed over, crying out in a wronged tone, "Dad, please help me find people and make them go to jail!"
Chen Hongfei's face stiffened, and he raised his hand to slap him several times.
Chen Shuo's face was swollen, and he was covering his face with blood flowing from his mouth.
Chen Hongfei was furious: "You damn fool! Do you know who you've messed with?!"
